Does adding Bryan to the Title Match Make Sense?

Most everyone wants to see Bryan in a title match at Mania and as things sit now the only way to get that would be to add him and make it a triple threat with Orton and Batista. Now, I can't help but think that match makes absolutely no sense. Even looking past how Bryan would get added to the match, those three guys just don't mix well. I compare this potential match to the two triple threats back at Mania 24 and 25. At 24 we got Trips/Orton/Cena and at 25 we got Edge/Cena/Show. Now 24 is an example of a match that made sense. While all three guys weren't intertwined with one another they were both so well connected to the camp (Orton) that it worked. Orton had such intense personal feuds with each guy that once we got around to Mania and Cena had come back from injury it made sense to have these 3 compete against one another. Now 25 is a case for a match not making sense. Edge like Orton was connected to both parties, but it seemed forced and silly with Show that they tied them together with Vickie. Not only that but because the story was lacking with Show it seemed more forced and as a result Cena (of all people) felt like the 3rd wheel in the match. What resulted was an average at best match whose only saving grace was the spot of Cena F-U'ing both guys at the same time.

Now I fear that if Bryan gets added to the match it will be more like 25 than 24. Batista and Bryan have absolutely nothing together and with such different stories connecting Orton to Batista and Orton to Bryan it sets up like Mania 25 where we had different stories that set up Edge to both competitors as opposed to 24 where Orton was connected to both challengers in the same fashion. Even though I worry of the fans hijacking Batista and Orton, I worry more about a triple threat as Bryan being added in and more than likely winning could come off odd because of the inherent poor booking that would accompany the match. I think that could set Bryan back even further than not being in the title match would.

I want and think Bryan should have been in the Main Event but it should have been as Rumble winner. He should have been 1st in and won the match. When that didn't happen I thought it had to be the Chamber especially after the reaction Bootista got in his match but WWE were stubborn and stuck to Orton v Batista.

In my opinion putting Bryan into the Main Event on the biggest PPV in the company without a MITB briefcase, a Rumble win, a title or a rematch clause is not the right thing to do. Bryan has no logical path in unless they did a MITB match at Mania he won and cashed in to make it a triple threat but as that is not going to happen so WWE should not put Bryan in as it would bury the accomplishment of winning the Rumble or Chamber.

They had 3 options of what to do with him at Mania
1. Win the Rumble and Main Event as challenger
2. Win the Chamber and Main Event as champion
3. Lose both of the above and Wrestle HHH

They picked option 3 so it is not logical to put Bryan in and despite wanting to see him in logic should top want. Let Bryan wrestle HHH for a title shot at Extreme Rules and build the show around him.

Does it make sense? I suppose not but, then again, the concept of professional wrestling itself doesn't really make a whole lotta sense. Neither do 90% of any & all reality shows that broadcast & cable networks keep pumping out, but people continue to watch.

If Daniel Bryan was some flash in the pan, flavor of the month, then this wouldn't be an issue with fans. The problem, or at least the perceived problem, for WWE management is that he isn't. A whole hell of a lotta fans want Daniel Bryan as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Daniel Bryan isn't the first guy to get "screwed" in a championship match, or multiple championship matches for that matter. As a result, there's a certain degree of logic that he shouldn't be included in this match just because he was "screwed over." Bryan's popularity, however, can't be debated at this point and the fans want what they want. It's not a case of a few handfuls of fans here & there, or the case of fans only in certain areas that want it. There are always wrestlers who have that going for them, but Bryan's situation is different. Week in and week out, no matter what city or town they're in, Bryan's reaction among fans is second to none.

In my opinion, the MUCH bigger mistake would be not adding Bryan to the title match. If they don't, there's no doubt in my mind that the New Orleans crowd will be extremely hostile and the match will be hijacked. WWE management made a serious miscalculation, or at least it appears that they have, in underestimating Bryan's popularity and overestimating Batista's popularity & star power. It isn't 2007 anymore and it's become obvious that WWE fans aren't going to pretend that it is. If WWE management stupidly ignores this, then it'll be their fuck up when 75,000 people hijack & shit all over Orton vs. Batista. If Daniel Bryan isn't added to the title match, Orton vs. Batista may go down as the weakest, most underwhelming main event match in WrestleMania history and there won't be anyone for WWE management to lay the blame on except for themselves.

I'm speaking as a non-Daniel Bryan blind supporter or anything, but as far as storyline goes it would be really easy to insert him in the title picture. He has never lost to Randy Orton in a clean fashion, in fact he was screwed everytime making his issue with Orton still wide open as who is in fact the better man. I still firmly believe that all the fans have been worked since SummerSlam and in any way, shape or form, WWE hasn't thought about putting Bryan into the title scene at WrestleMania.

I guess they weren't expecting to see people turn on Batista that fast, but the booking really protected him as far as credibility goes to challenge for the top title. This nice little story with Kane is a statement of how good Daniel is and if that ends in a main event match with Triple H, I will be very pleased. However the title match will suffer a lot in WrestleMania and that would be a damn shame. Fans will be fans and specially WrestleMania ones who have paid a lot, and I mean, a lot of money. Everything looks like a plan in my eyes to get Bryan into the next level - as I've been saying for time and time again, as soon as Bryan gets to the top, it will be a matter of time until people starts turning on him, because he's a very generic babyface when it's all said and done. So WWE is squeezing it all up... For the first time in some years Cena isn't in the main event and will be working with a "non" established star, giving time to others and still people complain so the logic of fans to me is "go by the flavor". As of this moment I fully, fully expect to see Daniel Bryan in the title match in one way or the other.

I can see it happening. Smart way of saving Orton/Batista from being booed out the building. I would do it if I was booking the show.

Turn Batista heel on Randy Orton 2-3 weeks before Mania: Lots have been calling for Batista to turn heel on Bryan but I'd go a different route and have Batista side with the Authority against Orton. Play up Orton's insecurities with the Authority and play in to the Evolution thumbs down angle even. The point of this is to turn Batista heel but keep Orton as an insecure, paranoid tweener character. Make him like a rat trapped in a corner, knowing his time is up and lashing out and everyone around him. He has played this character well before and I think it could work again here.

Make Bryan beat Triple H in the opening match to earn a shot: I hate the idea of him just being handed a shot at the title. Diminishes the Royal Rumble and damages his character, who is supposed to be the ultimate underdog, at all. Have him pull double duty that night and have him go over strong in both matches.

None of that will happen though because the plan all along has been for Batista to beat Orton for the belt.

This is the most likely thing to happen. Althought I think the WWE will continue to be hard headed and push on with Batista vs. Orton as the Main Event. I just don't see them changing anything, and it seems to be more out of spite than anything because I simply can't see the logic of booking two of the most unpopular Wrestlers in the Main Event of what really should be your biggest show not only of the year, but... well... ever.

On your 2nd thought, it would be tough for that type of stipulation to be added seeing as its Bryan who is chasing down Trips for the match. If anything, Bryan would probably have to be the one to put something up for the shot at Trips.

You could possibly use Hogan to set up the match up with the stipulation. On the Raw before Wrestlemania have him play up to the fans like only he can, have him ask them if they're excited for Batista vs Orton (crowd will inevitably boo), then have him ask them if they'd rather see Daniel Bryan vs Orton vs Batista (crowd will inevitably cheer). He can book the match there on the spot so that it would draw Triple H out to say he can't do that, he doesn't have the authority. Hogan can respond that he does and that it's in his contract as host of Wrestlemania to make it the best one yet and that includes being able to book matches. Trips could then play into the fact Bryan has done nothing to earn it and right there Hogan could agree with him and say that he's booking the match Triple H has been ducking for months and making Triple H vs Daniel Bryan for Wrestlemania with the stipulation that if Bryan wins he gets in on the title match in the main event. Close with Hogan saying that if Bryan is as ready as all the WWE Universe says he is than he now has the opportunity to join the immortals at Wrestlemania.

Two matches booked, Hogan looks great, Wrestlemania looks great, Bryan in the main event and Hogan endorsing Bryan as being on par with him, Austin, Rock etc. and Bryan gets to beat Triple H, Orton & Batista all in one night to prove that he belongs on that level.

Again, none of this will happen because it has been etched in stone that Batista wins the belt at Wrestlemania but it's how I would book it.

If wwe wants to cool the fans then they add a stipulation in HHH vs Daniel Bryan match. If bryan wins he gets a fair shot for title. If bryan lost he wont get the title shot.

At wm30 after DB wins against HHH Hogan comes out and add him in the Main Event.
