Except diplomacy is a lot more like commander, so if I start winning I could expect six guys ganging up on me.
The nice thing about Diplomacy is that the game itself takes little to no skill to play. Once you grasp the basics it becomes incredibly easy; what matters is your ability to wheel and deal behind the scenes, and that's what will decide the winner nine games out of ten (the other time Russia just sweeps the board whilst everyone else is pissing about).
