.... Did Murdoch try to do a Canadian Destroyer?

emceelokey

Occasional Pre-Show
That must have been the worst CD ever. I've seen this youtube of little kids doing it that came out better than that crap Murdoch tried to pull.

Oops! I guess you can't edit the title. I spelled Canadian wrong.

Haha, i asked this exact same question in another forum, dude. It looked like a half assed canadian destroyer, or like some sorta flip bomb, performed by the most out of shape guy on the wwe roster. but i dont now what it was, cuz it failed, and Matt landed on him completely.

To call that a Canadian Destroyer is a disgrace to Petey Williams. Not only is Murdoch the LAST person that should attempt that, but it looked like Marty Elias threw up the "x", so I think he actually caused legit damage to Matt. Murdoch should go bac to doing his "wonderful, insightful" movie reviews on WWE.com

I don't think he went for the CD... It was the Yoshi Tonic (Sunset-Flip Powerbomb) and if anything it was Matt's fault.. He was supposed to jump in order for Murdoch to perform the move correctly.

yeah it looked more a variation on the Yoshi Tonic a Sit out powerbomb as he put his arms behind his legs for the sit out part. also yes you are right they should have let someone else do it maybe Gregory Helms in the Cruiserweight Division as it appears sometimes they don't care about that division anyways.

LMAO. Sorry, I was just thinking about the conversation backstage. "Alright Murdoch, your fat, your ugly, your pasty and you have no talent . . . we're gonna go ahead and give you the Canadian Destroyer. That'd be great mmm kay?"

can someone post a pisture or video of murdoch doing the move? I missed it

lol, I saw that too, it was matt's fault...i don't think he anticipated it right away, althought it DID in fact look like it was a canadian destroyer...but it was souppose to be the power bomb...i rewinded it and checked....

If that truly was an attempt at the destroyer, that was disgraceful. What's next? Rey Mysterio trying a muscle buster? Come on. Murdoch is too damn slow and fat to try that move

Well, it's official now, according to WZ, Matt Hardy was really shaken up after the Murdoch Massacre...lol..just goes to show, T-Doch should stick to chewin tobacco and lookin fugly

Damn, i really need to see the video for this. Murdoch tried teh damn Canadian Destroyer. That move maybe the sweetest finisher in a while, and big ole country boy tried it. Damn youtubers, someone put this video up there. I stop watching raw and this happens. How the hell could he physically achieve this move, let alone try it. Props to Murdoch for doing a move that is now undoubtaly going to the much hated banned moves list.

*Edited the name of this thread to proper spelling of Canadian*

I think it was pretty funny when he attempted the CD. Although I agree that maybe Matt wasn't ready for it. It was still kind of awkward that they would let TMurd even start to use this move. If it was intended to be a powerbomb, then thats not what the world saw, they saw a Canadian Destroyer f*ck up. IMO, if anyone should even be using the CD, it should be Shelton Benjamin, as he would be the only other person I can see using this move.

Trevor Murdoch and Matt Hardy had guts attempting the move, but brains should have prevailed over all of that, which they clearly didn't. I don't know exactly what it was because it could have been a powerbomb gone wrong, or a Canadian Destroyer gone very wrong. It's a move that's only going to be attempted by people who can do it and when you think about it, it's more dangerous if the big guy is the one doing it and T Murdoch could have landed awfully on Hardy, which he did, so the move shouldn't have been attempted. Murdoch could be fully capable of doing that as weight shouldn't be an issue in doing it if you can do it right, but a little more practice on the move is needed before he injures someone doing it. It's a crazy move that could prove well in the future for him but I think the WWE should save it for Petey Williams to destroy someone's neck, not Murdoch.

And what's with all the Murdoch haters in this thread? The guy is very solid for a man of his fitness and is not as bad a wrestler as you think he is. He's a better tag teamer though and given time on TV, he could actually be getting heat with fans. Lance Cade is the standout in the team of Cade & Murdoch, but don't sell Murdoch short. For him, it's a wonder how the move didn't go worse and you won't see many guys in the WWE attempt the move, let alone him.

I agree with Downward Spiral, there are quite a lot of Murdoch haters on this forum, but I read somewhere that Murdoch and Cade have be studying a lot of tapes from the 80's, so props to them for trying to get better in the ring, and saying as the tag team divison pretty much blows in the WWE I think we should give these guys a chance.

Yeah, i'm taking a liking into Cade and Murdoch, if what you said is true about them studying 80's tapes (which seems to be true) then kudos to them. They do seem to be a roughneck tag team from the 80's which obviously you don't see around anymore. Though like one poster said i wouldn't let Murdoch try the Canadian Destroyer, leave it up to Shelton Benjamin or someone like that. It could have ended a lot worse for either of them.

I really like Murdoch too. FOr the limited T.V. time he has had so far in his WWE carrer he's very distinctive. I think if they play him as a tough guy he could sell it pretty good. I always thought the toughest guys were the ones that weren't pretty and ne's definitely not pretty. They're obviously doing a throwback to Dusty's AWA days when tagged with Dick Murdoch, but back to the point, don't f with the Canadian Destroyer if you're 6 feet tall, slow and fat.

Great clip BTW. That looked really bad too. Hardy could have ripped his shoulders out of place. You could tell that he shouldn't do that move by the fact that he's so freakin winded after only a 5 minute match or so.

Also if you look at the clip. When Hardy is supposed to jump all of Murdoch's weight is on his back. He weighs at least 40-50 pounds more than Hardy so that's a chore for Hardy to do.

It almost looked like he was going for front flip powerbomb I mean it didn't look that bad in my opinion its that the timing was a little off.

I highly doubt ol Vin Man would go as far as to let some fat fucker like Murdoch try the Canadian Destroyer when so many far less dangerous moves are banned except by the most trusted of his roster ONLY on big ppvs like Wrestlemania where you pull out all the stops. There is no way he'd attempt something like this on Raw!
I mean he could have Murdoch do it to say "Well if the X-Division guys can do it then man in your fucking face cuz this piece of trailer park trash can do it too!" but I doubt Vince would even waste the time trying a risky move like that with someone the likes of Murdoch when he clearly has more qualified people to try this such as Jeff Hardy or Shelton or maybe even Hass but in no way shape or form do I think I'd trust Murdoch to do anything but fix me a sammich

Ew, that did look god awful. I give Murdoch credit for trying, but man alive, that thing got butchered. There really isn't too much to say after that.

I have to say, I like Murdoch and Cade, they are a great tag team, but that just isnt the move for him. Anyone will tell you, like some people did already, that you could easily injure someone by using that if it isnt done right. Murdoch doesn't have the athleticism for performing that move. He needs something like a powerbomb or another good strength move.

Meh, I don't really see the big deal here. Sure it wasn't exactly good looking, but it was still a damn good move that he was able to pull off semi-cleanly. Also, I really don't think he was attempting a Canadian Destroyer, he didn't even look like he attempted to stand up with Matt in his arms after he flipped over him, looked more like just a Sunset Flip Power Bomb to me.

I too like Murdoch, and this ladies and gentlemen is why. Sure, wasn't the best sunset flip power bomb you'll see, but it was FAR from the worse. I really don't understand why everyone think he messed it up so bad, didn't look too bad to me. But atleast we get to see the guy attempt an awesome move like that, which we barely ever see on WWE TV anymore. Honestly, whens the last time you saw a move on WWE that you were just like "Holy shit!" and were amazed by it?

Not a very clean move, but still I like that he did it.

why can't they just give Murdoch something like a powerbomb or a flapjack or some shit that they know he could pull off, don't give him a move where he has to flip his fat ass over his oppent, they are likey to suffer serious injury and from what I understasnd, Matt was pretty messed up after the move, though suffered no serious injury, and I thought that the Candien Destroyer was on WWEs banned move list, if it's not then it should be, I mean if the piledriver is on the list then... well you know

I think there are two levels to the WWE move ban list, the Restricted Moves and the Banned moves, Pile Drivers fall into the Restricted moves set, thats why you see Taker, Kane, Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley do it, because they have not caused a legit injury doing it. Full nelson's also probably fall into the Restricted move category.
There is a rumour that Murdoch actually hit it at a house show in london. That would be interesting to see, did anyone go to any of the House Shows in England?. I also think this was part of an all out attempt by WWE to put on matches that would not only "cover" for the "lack" of Randy Orton as well as to bring up ratings, if they do more of this sort of thing with doing moves like this than they need to actually have the guy practice it and pull it off close to 99% of the time close to perfect.
