Cryme Tyme is OFFENSIVE to a Black man fro REAL

cryme tyme was only brought to wwe i think for raw to have some type of entertainment, yeah they might offend people but like others are saying, cena is hardly on the mic and hes very funny when he wants to be, especially when he raps, but cryme tyme is just a joke like others have said, because raw is basically the crap show and the only thing keeping it alive is DX and probably jeff hardy and cena, but mainly DX.

Now that I've read all the posts, allow me to re-but, as i startd this lil convo. There is a long list of things wrong with wwe, but I'm a fan. Mexicools, hientai, "whats up my *****", lie cheat and steal, tatanka, muhammed hussein, rico, the list goes on forever, even shelton benjamin's mama. Its all stereotyping, but let me refer to another blog, the one about hhh and game, look on there and see how many ignorant things were said about "these rappers". Sugarcoat it all you want, many, not all, people are very very uninformed about others' cultures. To know black people is not to KNOW black people. I know many women, but I will never be able to get in their heads. I don't know why she wants to cuddle ALL the time. I don't know why she gets so upset over leaing the toilet seat up. I'm a man, and all I can do is speculate. Even if whe explains it to me, some things I'll never get. I know alot of hispanics, but would I go on an ese's block like everything is alright? Hell no! Cuz I don't know their story for real, just what I'm told. Take all tat in before you tell me to "lighten up". The red-nosed crackhead? C'mon everything you hear is that there's a crackhead on every corner in the "ghetto". Fuck That! It don't sit pretty with me. Would it be cool if KKKramer sang the rednose crackhead? The gimmick is fine. It was funny at first. Why not make caricature out of gangsta rap? But I'm not feelin it any more. Hopefully this thing with them and shelton turns out okay, it's even interesting, but I'm rooting for shelton! Think about this, how would America accept a stereotypical Jew image in WWE?

Further more, it was WRONG when he did the God angle with Shawn Michaels, because it offended people. But now I should just "lighten up" huh? Not all Black people are going to be offended. I'm not speaking for them, I'm speaking for Scorpionz Venom. In fact they even had Shelton tell S. Crazy he'd be picking up trash on the side of the highway. Damn yall, that's not a buch of bullshit huh? Fro Real-my bad on the typo

does it really matter? they are just storys. get over it, if you cant get over it, than start watching ******ed football that takes 40,000 hours to finish one damn game.

Okay, that's kinda ignorant to say, homeboy. Isn't wrestling fighting for the legitimacy that football already has? Like I said, it's easy to say get over it. Very insensitive of you, my friend. Let me clear something up, I'm not calling anyone in WWE racist, they are just highly stereotypical, while neither is good, there is a huge difference. With comments like this, I have to keep in mind that some people aren't on a level where they can have an intellectual debate on relevant topics. My bad for trying to bring something to the table besides "cena sucks, tna rules".

LOL...

Worst post, on any forum, on any topic...EVER.

For one, like I've already said in this thread, NO ONE has the right to tell the guy what he can and can not be offended by. In addition, I liked his point about the stereotypical jew and how Americans would respond to that. I have a feeling, it wouldn't go well.

But then you took it too far with the ******ed football comment. There is a reason football has been a National Game a lot longer than wrestling, which didn't go National until the 80's when Vince took it there. There is a reason football is getting ratings in the 20's, and wrestling in the 3's. I would even take it as far to say there is a reason why most wrestlers aren't playing football...

LOL! I actually said the Bashams are on Raw, my mistake..It was 230 in the morning and I was tired as hell..I meant the highlanders, and trevor murdoch and lance cade, and shit like that...

and one thing I forgot to meniton about Cryme Time, I have a black friend who watches wrestling, and he loves Cryme Time and thinks they're hillarious.

I like cryme time and I think they are hilarious. They have a great gimic for now and I can see them in the future competing for the World Tag Titles.

However, I do think they crossed the line a little bit last night.

I'll tackle this one from a few sides. Firstly, I'm American. My skin is light tan, not "white", which is a political color, and my Great Grandparents are from Italy. If I ever see a person who is BLACK or WHITE, I will run screaming! We come in all colors. I am AMERICAN. Vince McMahon is an insensitive scumbag, we all know that. I don't mean "Mr. McMahon". Vince is a jackoff of the highest degree.

As far as the Government cleaning up the ghetto, that in itself would be considered racist. You cannot ask government to stamp out racism, when every action the government does is considered racist. The unfortunate minority of thugs who cause trouble in the black community often subscribe to a lifestyle which young black men admire. Can you imagine the uproar if the Feds tried to clean up the hood?

Blacks in this country have the power to clean up the ghetto. The feds need to learn to work with black leaders instead of behind their backs. The stigma of the Mafia is the same. There are even some in my family who think these drug dealing, wisecracking, murdering extortionist pigs are cool, when in fact they started drugs and extortion LONG before young blacks.

I think the Cryme Time skits are funny, but I can see 100% how they could be offensive to either race. I don't blame you, but sometimes you just have to laugh at shit like the Sopranos, Cryme Time and shit like that. As long as you feel good as a person, and do the right thing, don't worry about that stupid racist shit. All racists are idiots and mentally inferior. We can rip someone's heart out, put in a new one and it BEATS FOR GOD SAKES, yet we still hate each other over skin pigmentation! Our species, yes, SPECIES, NOT RACE, is insane. Always has been, always will be. From the cavemen to Futurama, we are assholes of the 3rd degree.

For the person that started this forum I got two words for ya- Shutup G.

Why even post that? This is ignorance at its finest. You are the type of person that gives wrestling fans a bad name. Might I add to everyone this is EXACTLY what I'm talking about.

Look, I am a black male and I do not find them offensive at all. For the people that do find it offensive they need to lighten up. If you allow things like that to bother you then you just keep feeding the power of the stereotype. Where as if you live your life the opposite to what it is that they are projecting then there should be no problem. I find the skits funny because I know that not all black males are like that. But there are people who are like that. In which I respond to that as you cant get mad at people for stereotyping for things that they have seen. Stop acting like that and then the stereotype will no longer exist. If we as black males stop all that gang banging and go to school and take care of our children then we can prove the stereotypes to be wrong. But the facts are that it is seen everyday, blacks out there killing each other for what? Some damn shoes?! So I just laugh it off cause I know that I am not living my life like that and anyone that knows me knows that to be correct!

That is true, but people shouldn’t have to follow a certain way, they should make or find their own way. Basically what im saying is that what our so called 'superiors' tell us is not the best way and certainly not the only way to live your life. However Education is a vital part of our life, but it's also a waste half the stuff they teach you in school is bullshit and lies. 1 half a COMPLETE lie the other half a well constructed lie, and you may ask where are the truths, they are hidden beneath the lies.

First let me state that I am black. An University graduate in English with a minor in African american Studies. I think I would see it offensive but it is kind of hard when I see Ron Simmons Shelton, Coachman, The Rock, Bobby Lashley and so many other blacks that do not act in the steoryotype that we see cryme time doing, i refuse to call WWE racist. . There fore I think it is just funny

Cryme Tyme are great. Now being a white male my opinion may not mean much but half of my family are of African decent. I love Cryme Tyme. In fact I may go as far as to say that they are the only reason I watch RAW. They are funny and I think people need to take what they say and how they act witha pinch of salt, its light humour.

I for one agree with Scorpionz in the sense that he has every right in the world to be offended by Cryme Tyme's antics last night. My fiance was right down pissed and she's white!

We all know that Cryme Tyme was put together simply for the laugh factor but it gets to the point where its not light hearted fun anymore...its starting to go over the line but supposedly this is the direction Vince is wanting to take to take strides to "shock" like he did when WWE was all over the news for stepping over the line getting them the "What will the do next" viewers.

Like who here remembers when Stonecold stormed Brian Pillman's house and beat down all his friends, then when he steps through the door Pillman pulls a magnum out from the couch cushion and points it? Thats the era I'm talking about. But even farther beyond that with the attitude era where wardrobe malfunctions were constant and everyone in the media were shocked.

I was actually really annoyed by Cryme Tyme last night I mean robbing old folks is just stupid anyways. I like when they rob other wrestlers but going to an old folks home is just cheesy and stupid.

Its sad though that this all black people represent to white america. either you are a militant black man who hates the white man and always speaks of being held down and oppressed, or you are a straight up G robbing everyone.

First I just want to say I respect all your opinions but their is truly something wrong with the way most people think, if anyone thinks that all black people act like Cryme Tyme than they are pretty fu*king dumb, I am a black man I happen to think Cryme Tyme is very entertaining and like I said above if anyone truly thinks thats how we act than they need help, the WWE stereotypes every race, gender, and religion, they are trying to crate characters that we can relate to their is so many things you could find offensive in the WWE but if you don't like it don't watch it, the Cryme Tyme gimmick is no different than Jamie Noble being a redneck, or Finlay running around with the little bastard, or Lita being a ****e, or roddy piper running around in a kilt, all of these and so many more is offensive to somebody but lets try to remember it's all in the name of entertainment, last I want to say I skimmed through the posts and their is a lot of racist comments, those of you know who you are and should be ashamed of yourselves it's pretty sad to see there is a lot of simple minded people in these forums.

who sed this is what black people are represented as america??????????? no one sed that...y do u guys think this is racist i dnt get it...its just a joke and entertainment GET OVER ITTTTT....we all know black people do not act like that...there are well educated black people as well as blacks who act like cryme tyme does...if america thought that way u wouldnt have a BLACK seceratary of state....she's pratically the right hand man of bush and he is a WHITE man so i dnt get the deal with u people ITS NOT RACIST QUIT SAYIN IT IS...everything these days is blamed on rasicsm its pathetic....sure there are some things but this is not one of them so stop complainin....

ok... I understand that some black people could be offensed by cryme tyme but i think they should take this as a joke because if you listen carefully you'll see that wrestling is a big joke!!! Wrestling is there to make a show for all the fans that they have and not to to offend nobody because all they do should be taken as a joke!! As a white man i respect blacks and all others colors because by th way we're all humans and I think Cryme Tyme is so damn funny and i know black people are not really like that

Personally, I think last night's skitt sucked. The whole crackhead thing was stupid, and the "rob whitey" thing was stupid. You cannot blame Cryme Time if they are offensive. These are two young guys trying to make it in a HARD business, and have to do what Vince McMahon says. They haven't been around that long, and they didn't marry the bosses daughter, so they have no say in their gimmicks.

I agree 100%

ever since dave chappelle hit it big, everyone thinks that if they say the word
"Crack" "Smoke Rocks" "Crackhead" then they are funny... i mean chappelle was funny with it... but it just is F*ckin dumb when other people say it...

WWE Please... i can understand the robbin people... but why make them sing crappy (Non-Funny) songs? and meantion crackheads for no reason?

beyond the "Offensiveness" of Cryme time... i love them, they are hillarious. but the skit last night sucked...

and the one with the whole micheal richards (Name? fine.. Kramer) sketch would've been alright, but JR made it sound so serious that when we went to the guy and he didnt say hardly anything that would be deemed really objectionable, it was dumb... AND they let the "imitation" of richards act go on too long before bringing in cryme time. if they would have shortened the sketch, then it woulda been pretty good.

i'll end this with. yo yo yo y'y'y'y'y'y' YO, I love cryme time... keep 'em up

Lets face it, its a shit gimmick and more furthering of negative racial stereotypes by the WWE. I cant stand it.
I dont know why the WWE continues to play on these out dated themes. Umaga, Khali, the Highlanders, the list goes on.

I gotta be real with you, as of tonight, I'm officially not fellin Cryme Tyme's gimmick. As a Black man I was offended by tonights segment at the retirement home. It was funny at first, but it's obvious by messages posted in this very community that all many people know about Black people is what they see on TV. The angle with Shelton is walking a very thin line. And I DARE someone to tell me what I should and should not be offended by.

Hell, I'm white AND I'M offended by it. I don't condone what Michael Richards did but the bottom line is that Chris Rock amongst others can get away with the same kind of crap, but because he's black and Richards was white there's no problem. ANY form of racism is unacceptable, not just because whitey keeps his head down when poked fun of.

As a historian (my real day job) I know it can only lead to further issues down the line. If I were a comedian I know I'd have taken issue with someone disturbing my show with his phone and inane banter. A heckler can be dealt with - not a moron like that.

Look at the cinema scene from Scary Movie for a case in point - there's always someone you just want to kill at a show like that; Richards was unfortunate that this time the guy was black.

dr_rock, take this into consideration, say your lil sister is kinda chunky, and you call her fat to tease her. Now say some other kid on the playground calls her fat, you're prolly ready to jump on them. As far as comedians go, there are some things acceptable within a group that are not outside the group. I didn't make the rules, just a fact of life. I don't hate the cryme tyme gimmick all together, I said I was not felling the retirement home segment nor the direction of the characters. It was funny when they took the moniter and booker's watch, but okay, they're over, let them wrestle, and develop them a little. Matter of fact booker is a perfect example. Having him slip out of is king gimmick and unknowingly turn into booker t is HILARIOUS!!! Its a jab at the way Black people talk. I'm not offended by that at all, and that's stereotyping. But it doesn't put us in a bad light. Does anyone see the difference? BTW, If you're just gonna say something stupid of juvenile, keep it to yourself.

I hardly said anything stupid or juvenile now did I? I see the point you're making, and perhaps I picked up on it incorrectly to begin with.

However I still have a problem with negative stereotypes. Back home we can see the humour behind Finlay's leprechan because we know full well this is how the majority of Americans probably view the Emerald Isle. But why should black wrestlers be portrayed as ghetto kids? Why can't we have more aspiring rolemodels? Look at Shelton - an All American champ, doesn't look like he took a whole pile of steroids the way Brock did. A genuine sports star.

Maybe I'm going off centre here but like the man said - those are my 2c.

I fought for Ireland back in the 90's and I admire someone who can make it to the top without a crutch, be that crutch steriods or lame gimmicks. Gimme Macho Man and tassles over Cryme Tyme (with that wonderful illiterate spelling you Americans seem to adore) any day of the week.
