I gotta be real with you, as of tonight, I'm officially not fellin Cryme Tyme's gimmick. As a Black man I was offended by tonights segment at the retirement home. It was funny at first, but it's obvious by messages posted in this very community that all many people know about Black people is what they see on TV. The angle with Shelton is walking a very thin line. And I DARE someone to tell me what I should and should not be offended by.

I can understand someone being offended tonight... i dunno if you should be offended about shelton benjamin... but maybe the cryme time thing... and yea alot of people are dumb, and they need to understand that the cryme time is supposed to be a joke... not really be an example of how black people are... i can tell you this truthfully. With all except one black person i have met. they are just the same as all the white people i have met. that exception is one of my good friends tho, he is hillarious, but he is what we would call... different. haha

anyways people that think Cryme time is what black people are all about, need to steal the keys to daddy's tractor and drive off the farm. and get out into the world. realize that were all the same under the color of our skin.

I am half black, I personally see this as nothing but a big joke. I am not offended by this and think people need to lighten up and just learn to laugh at themselves.

Im not being racist but the black people from where Im from do act like that. I mean a lot of them. I don't hate black people, I got a lot of black friends. Hell every one of a different race acts stupid. But Im not going to sit here and act like I haven't seen a lot of blacks act like cryme tyme. I find Cryme Tyme funny though.

People are to serious about this shit. Its two guys making money and havin a good tine while doing it. All of those old people in that place new that was going to happen. All of my black or let me put it in political correctness so i dont offend anyone "African american" friends love the gimmick and think that it is funny. To often peopl get offended by what we have been told is wrong and not by their own personal values. Cryme tyme is a parody of racial steryotypes in todays america AKA all blacks want large sums of money, gold, and ho's and cheap alcoho. To me cryme tyme is no more offensive the chapple's show was, dave did the same thing in the skits that he did with the one like: The mad real world and when blacks get all the money they were owed for slavery or the milk man skit but he also showed so points like when some white people see a black man they start walking faster and check their shoulders every five second so they dont get robbed. Blacks are not totally innocent either they have made the steryotypes for themselvs just as white have for being scared of blacks. But as the poster said above me realize that were all the same under the color of our skin.

GET OVER IT....it is a gimmick...anyone with a brain knows that not all black people act like that...the style they are presenting was created in the ghetto..ive seen white people, asians, hispanics, etc etc with that style so i dunt understand wat u r taking offense to...no one of any other race is complaining about anything else shown.....if anyone thinks that all black people are like cryme tyme its cuz they r ignorant and havent gone out into the world...i kno plenty of black people that act the way cryme tyme are portraying..i also kno whites and hispanics who act the same...i dnt c what ur offended by...get over it already....

I am half black. I am not offended by anything Cryme Tyme has done. I actually thanks its great. I mean after all it's just a story line their doing. It's just a job & it's how they make their living. I love it.

People thought Muhammad Hassan was great (I did but it was offensive). After they offended too many people on Smackdown! with the "masked terrosits" attacking Taker it was pulled by negative press. Cryme Tyme is a gimmick but also offensive. I hated seeing the Mexicools in Lawnmowers as I'm latino. Taking a sterotype & going overboard is what Vince does. Hopefully he doesn't do this to Cryme Tyme.

I like Cryme Time, although I could tell from the start when their "training" videos were airing, that it was WWE's attempt at the sterotypical blacks, so I could definitley see how people could see it as racist or offensive..

But I think they are entertaining, and there's no harm being done..I don't really consider it that bad. One of the better things on Raw at the moment with all this other garbage like Umaga, Cena, the bashams, etc...

Wait.. The Bashams are on Raw?

Anyway, I think some of Cryme Tyme's bits are kind of funny, but I could definitely see how some people may take offense to it. I didn't find the new segment with the old people funny at all, though. I'm kind of sick of the whole "white people don't fit in with black society but try anyway with hilarious results" gag. It's just been overdone waaaay too much, especially in recent years. Unfunny and stupid segment.

I hear you brother.

Anyone telling you not to be offended opinion's should not qualify.

Sure racists are generally stupid. They tend to be close minded, uneducated, and uninformed. That doesn't mean they don't exists, and that doesn't mean this gimmick will not solidify their ignorant point of view as correct in their heads.

I'm not upset about it. It really doesn't bother me. But shame on you for telling this guy he should not be offended.

I understand how you are offended but I think that you have interpreted it incorrectly as it's not aimed at black people in general, everyone is different and maybe cryme time are different to other black people, and also its only a gimmick so its not even real.

I never knew the bashams are on raw either? I know that Paul Heyman has gone but they were those guys who wore those black clothes and helmets on ecw who always helped heyman out

To me it seems like they are mocking the "corporate hip pop" community like G-Unit, etc... It's inundated American Society lately if you haven't noticed.

I blame Eminem. ;-)

Maybe if you get rappers to stop attempting genocide on their own people by promoting drug dealing, killing, etc...

Is it all about money, cash, hoes?

Its nothing more then a gimmick.. Nothing offensive about it, unless your nit picking.. Honestly, I think its funny, and every "Black" person I know loves it.. I don't think its going to far, just using the sterotype as a bad thing..

I think Cryme Tyme is engineered as a cheap laugh, but in the end it's another in a long line of hollow gimmicks that leave zero love for the characters in them at the end of the day, except for the humor aspect of it (which only lasts for so long). These boys are pretty athletic and have a pretty damn good finisher, but they've been lumped into a custom made stereotype that is no more than training wheels in a long line of dumb & cartoony gimmicks (Highlanders & Spirit Squad, anyone?). It's not a great way to try and get someone to give a damn about an already dilapitated tag division.

I understand your concerns,, because it looks like Vince having a little jibe at the black community. But what you got to understand, is that isn't real in any way, shape or form. And I wouldn't take it offensively because if you do, then thats allowing Vince to win.

You act like black people are some sort or rare species that people don't know about even though they are human beings and equal to everyone else. If someone is going to be racist or bigoted because of what they see on t.v. then they're weak minded and probably would unfortunately have misconeptions regardless of WWE skits. I'm not saying now to have an opinion because nobody can tell you how to feel. I am however saying that if you look at the big picture, Cryme Tyme isn't supposed to be sterotypical, rather mocking the stereotype. Sure not everyone is bright enough to pick up on that, but really you're not being much better than WWE in a minor respect. You're getting on WWE (understandably) for portraying black people in a negative light while yourself passing judgment on others by assuming that they are too stupid to understand fact from fiction. Again, some people are like that unfortunately, but you've pretty much grouped just about everyone into one category. How fair is that?

Like someone above, they always do it and for that they are bastards, and really show what Americans evoke on so often.

FACT: There was no NEED to show the Mexicools on lawnmowers, just imagine how Latinos feel, that something they love watching WWE portray them as lawnmower drivers

FACT: There was no need to portray Muhammad Hassans enforcements as Terrorists and at this point of time, FFS what a stupid thing to do. One day they show that they deeply feel sorry for those who were killed on 9/11 and on another day they show masked terrorists.

FACT: Okay fine, I guess black people are the center of rap music ect, wearing all that bling stuff. BUT there was no NEED to show that they steel things, imagine what little kids are gona think when they see a black person??

And im not sure if anyone can remember but I remember that time when Vince came up to Booker T and said "what’s up my N i g g er".

Now there are SO many things wrong with white Americans that I know, however I would never dream to state them mainly because people should be judged on their individual personalities and not how they are grouped.

Some bastard right wing mother fuckers will argue that there is a difference between fact and stereotyping well that is wrong because you compare a black German for example and a black person from UK you will see that no one can be judged by the color of their skin.

Now let’s wonder why SOME black people are like what WWE portray, it’s the America government (and others) and the society which they prosper on everyone, they purposely create dilemmas so gangs fight, they purposely don’t do a thing to help neighborhoods which are filled with blinded people holding weapons. If the America government WANTED to they could get rid of the entire major ghettos and gangsters in America but no, they are too busy attacking another country for more money and resources to plunder their greed upon.

Believe it or not but the power at this point of time is in the white mans hand, and it is up to us not only black people but as a human race to DEMAND equality for all, and an end to poverty and global war and depression.

A time will come when our species will be non existent, and another may take over, but until then we have a responsibility to leave what trace we can, and this can only be achieved by uniting the whole world and its people.

I do and I remember Bookers reaction. "Tell me he didn't just say that!"

Err I think you will find there IS a differance between fact and stereotyping, unless you are agreeing with the "bastard right wing mother fuckers"

There is a difference, however even with facts you still cant judge the individual

eg. Fact : 98% of black people is whatever

even with that information you still could'nt judge the black individual, and nothing is ever certain (100%).

I am a black man, and i'm not offended. I can tell the difference between a joke and reality. Cryme Tyme is hilarious. ANYONE who thinks that all black people act like Cryme Tyme aren't smart enough to deserve a response or recognition.
