Creative vs. the fans

Arkham Noir

With black birds following me
I figured that since only mister_b1LL ,Klunderbunker ,and Mitch Henessey seem to be the only people on here watching NXT now that I would give them a break and post something here.

Personally, this is the first season of NXT that I've actually followed(Which may or may not be due to the fact that I'm in love with AJ lol). But i've noticed something odd while following the season. From the reports I've read on the Wrestlezone's main website, Creative seems to be leaning towards Naomi and Kaitlyn in regards to who they "have plans for" once NXT is over. While I do agree with Kaitlyn because she does seem to be over , why Naomi?

Apparently it's because she is athletic, but why have they not made a point of showcasing here as an athlete? For that matter, why haven't they really showcased her at all? She hasn't really stood out all that much and more effort has been put into both Aksana and Kaitlyn in regards to exposure. And I might be a little bias here, but AJ is the most over of this group in regards to the fans. She's basically the only one generating a fanbase and yielding a fan reaction. Why not go for her?

So my question here is, shoudn't creative focus more on those who can get over opposed to their personal preferences? And if they are planning on focusing on someone who isn't really over, shoudn't they try to , you know, GET THEM OVER!

What do you think mister_b1LL ,Klunderbunker ,and Mitch Henessey lol (or anyone else that cares)

I can absolutely see you point. I actually think Naomi was the low vote this elimination round so they gave her immunity. I think creative's thought process is they'll have Naomi win the competition since she is the one with the least fan support and that'll give her a nice boost. Kaitlyn and Aksana are getting a nice push due to their current involvement in actual story-lines. AJ doesn't seem to need the story-line nor the competition to get over so she has been the least utilized.

I think the "plans" creative has for Naomi and Kaitlyn are mainly due to the need for an actual push for both of them to get over. So basically the plan is get them over after NXT while AJ is already over.

Creative eventually do have to focus on who gets a fan reaction. They could book a guy to be practically invincible, but if the fans have absolutely no interest in them then creative will have no choice but to move on to someone else. What they do is find somebody they like, hope that the fans do too, push them, then if the crowd likes them then the push continues. That is how it works. So it's not necessarily Creative VS the fans, it's just that creative look for people they want to push first and THEN who the fans like. If the fans like someone but creative don't, they will still get pushes here and there but not big enough to what the fans' probably would want. In the end, the creative team's job is to find out who to push and/or get over. All we can do as fans is show them who we like more. That's the case for any push, whether it's for a current main eventer or one of the rookies on NXT.

Making his in forum return, mister_b1LL!

Both El Rey and Dias make good points. Naomi and Kaitlyn need the pushes because without them they can only be mediocre at best. Naomi is a very athletic individual but NXT hasn't been showcasing that because it's just not how this season has been going towards so they have to find other alternatives to keep the interest on her. I definitely disagree with having Naomi win the whole thing because like Dias said it all comes down to fan reaction. Naomi doesn't garner as much fan support as AJ or Kaitlyn (though last Tuesday's epi was the first one I've seen in a month since my laptop went down and it seems Kaitlyn has lost a lot of steam) and fan support is in my opinion the only thing that can make or break a WWE Superstar. You could be a technically sound wrestler or could be gold on the mic but if nobody gives a rip about you, you should expect your Future Endeavour papers in the mail real soon. Give the win to someobdy who could have a chance post NXT.

First of all... thank GOD that AJ is gone. IMO, she really is the internet darling and from what I can see, she doesn't bring much to the table. And I'm not going to stand for the old "Oh well she doesn't have good opponents" because that's the most bullshit excuse. Trish Stratus didn't need any help putting Christy Hemme over, and she sure as hell didn't need help putting Mickie AND Ashley over or carry to a good match. Neither did Lita.

Now, as for the main topic. I will agree that if WWE is serious about pushing Naomi then they need to start doing so. Bring over Alicia Foxx and let her get a quick NXT rivalry going. Let Alicia be Naomi's Miz. Have Alicia fear that if Naomi wins then Alicia might become a blimp on the radar... just do something with her. NXT Season 3, IMO started out great but when they went on WWE.com, they became a joke. After about the second week, I quit watching and just hoped that Kaitlyn would stay on Smackdown very frequently. Honestly though, whether Kaitlyn gets voted off or not, she's going to stay in WWE... there's no way that WWE would let a body like that go away.

But yeah, I watch NXT occasionally, but that's only when I have nothing else to do.
