Could temptation and DX facilitate John Cena turning to the dark side?

Actually stone cold was the leader of the Alliance in 2001 but you have a good point. Cena should be in a faction regardless if its heel or face. Maybe Dx, and this is the mother of all maybes, Could turn heel have Xpac Billy gun and road dogg come back to WWE, and announce that they are taking over. Cena comes out and says that he and the stars of the future will stop them. Cena, Bourne, swagger, Kofi, and Christian just so they can have a veteran on the team. Switch out any of them with whoever on cenas team but the premise would still be there. Got a better one Cena, Orton,(two veterans) Legacy and Swagger And thats only if DX Reunion is face.

Well....i agree it would fair well...however...never happen. Simple reason if hes heel he wont sell t-shirts. I do however think it would boast the next superstar in WWE. Perfect example...Batista and Randy Orton. They formed in a group with tremendous pull in Evolution. Before that Orton was a nobody on WWE Sunday Night Heat now he's always in the title mix. Batista...was a lacky for...Brother Devon (worst gimmick ever) after Evolution he was a champ and a major star (regardless of how stiff and boring we all think he really is). I think since McMahon is so worried about "whos the next big guy" he needs to pull something like this...promote a Swagger, Ziggler, Morrison, or hell even a Ryder to that status. I mean yes they are a "newer" breed but sometimes you have to take chances. Sometimes you have to put nobodys with a somebody to make them big. Not every guy can make it on their own...Hell not even The Rock did it on his own...he used the Nation to get major face time on TV...Triple H was a nobody till the original DX came along...Orton, Batista, hell I'll even say it...RIC FLAIR..without a stable like The 4 Horsemen (best stable EVER!!!) i honestly dont think he would have been AS huge as he was. Not everone is an Austin, Undertaker, Jericho or Edge can can do it on their own with a great storyline here and that and good crowd appeal...sometimes there needs to be a recreation of the character in a stable...so i think that would be a hell of an idea..im totally for it...plus...it will be a new storyline...instead of the recycled ones we get week in and week out for the past 5 years!!!

Ah well, Canuckles your storyline sounded great and a good watch and all but you know if you put Cena into DX everyone would hate him even more than they already do plus it would ruin DX. Some reasons for this are Cena is in the company's eyes the best face they could have, he also gets them wide out fan support from adults and children alike I mean you cat even walk down to the shop nowadays without seeing 1 or 2 Cena T-shirts if they put him heel I don't know what would happen to WWE probably less money coming in because the kids want HBK instead of Cena (saying he was heel) just because Michaels in nice to other people. Dunno if you think the same but is just my POV.

More grasping at straws to turn Cena heelz and give him a mouthpiece manager (what, what, Norcal?), but I'll actually bite this once. I normally just come in and shit on the idea of turning Cena heel...but I'll be nice today. I think it's rather becoming of me, actually. :lmao:

That would be one way to turn Cena heel, yes. However...you're over-thinking it. Cena is the champion now. Think back to who was cast out when he was champion. I'll give you a hint. He's currently on Raw. He's main-eventing. He just lost the title to Cena. Randy Orton.

Orton was cast out because of Triple H's jealousy over his WHC title win, as most people probably know. Orton got all mad and started feuding against Evolution, blah blah blah.

The point of the call-back is that Orton was turned out because of this title. Have Cena join DX, be happy and go lucky for 2 months or so, then have Trips starting to get ancy over the title. Jealous. Finally, Triple H kicks Cena out of DX, claiming some bullshit.

This is where it gets tricky. If Cena gets all good guy indignant, Cena stays face and Trips goes heel, most likely taking Shawn Michaels with him. Have Cena go crazy, Triple H and HBK calling foul and acting confused, and bam. Cena is now a heel, and Trips and HBK are relatively clean in the whole fiasco.

--------
..Not that it'll never happen. Cena is a face, and a damn good one at that. He's staying this way.

love the idea but u got to have swagger with him he is being wasted why move him to raw for him not to even fight most of the time he is one of the few i see a bright future for wwe do something with him

Nice idea, but Cena won't turn heel for at least several years. Period.

He'll probably turn heel eventually, but long after DX has had its final run. The OP would imply a heel turn soon, which just won't happen. We can ramble about it all we want, but Vince will simply shoot the idea down in every creative meeting until someone else that can represent the WWE in a good light in the media, and is massively over, and sells as much merchandise comes along.

I would love to see John Cena turn heel and Randy Orton turn babyface.

I'm sick of the same crap every week with John Cena and Randy Orton

When DX reunited I instantly started thinking of how to break them up and to freshen their characters.

It's a well known fact that Shawn is very religious now and along with the PG era are the main reasons of DX-Lite I thought HHH could take the jokes and the antics too far in one of their backstage segments. HBK finally snaps and superkicks him.

Shawn would come out the following week in a religious gimmick where he would talk to down to the fans and HHH (Jericho/ Punk style)

HHH would use this to get under Shawns skin by pulling pranks on him. Possibly turning them into factions

Don't rip me apart i'm going by current roster and possible returns

DX Army
HHH
MVP
Cryme Tyme
Evan Bourne

The Cult
HBK
Miz
Masters
London & Kendrick

I wouldn't want to tarnish the DX name with another incarnation but maybe just have MVP, Cryme Tyme, and Bourne as fun loving allies to take out HBK's cult (like Cena and Cryme Tyme were)

Everyone could gain experience from working with the veterans and would give us the HHH vs HBK retirement match at Wrestlemania

On to Cena while it's not a bad idea Cena is this generations Hogan I don't think he would end up heel when it all came out. The only way to facilitate a Cena heel turn would be for him to destroy a bigger face then him or do something incredibly despicable. Him playing antics would get cheers from the fans and DX throwing him out would turn them heel.

To have him make a proper heel turn he would have to show us a new side that we haven't seen yet (no more rapper or All American gimmick) It would have to be something to get his young fans to turn on him.

After a payperview where he loses the title to Swagger he comes out the next night on Raw during a Hornswoggle match and attacks "Carlito or whoever he's facing" with a chair destroying him. Hornswoggle is jumping around happy. Cena picks him up gives him the AA and locks his head in a chair and smashes it.

While he gets taken out on a stretcher Cena demands the GM to come out. The guest GM makes a tag match for later in the night Swagger & Orton vs Cena and MVP. Halfway through the match Cena snaps and grabs a chair destroying Swagger and Orton. MVP tries to calm him down and he goes crazy smashing up MVP.

This brings out Vince or Shane which leads to them getting destroyed by Cena

He comes out the following Monday telling the fans off. He gave them his all and they still booed him. He could even semi break kayabe by telling them heres a sixth move for you giving the crowd the finger and walking out of the ring (of course not in the PG era though)

Off point now This whole merchandise thing is BS. Fans will still buy merch if your a heel possibly more if the character wasn't stale for years. Trust me WWE will still get their money if it's not Cena merch their buying they will scroll down and grab some Merch for the new top face (MVP, Morrison whoever) Look in the crowds I see more CM Punk shirts then I do Cena any day of the week.

The only problem is they need the next top face to be ready when he makes his turn. Its usually a two or three man era (HBK, Undertaker, Bret Hart), (Rock, Austin, Mankind), (HHH, Angle, Jericho) and now (Cena, Edge, Orton) if he turned heel who would be his face? Orton is better served as a heel. They need to build up some main event level faces before they even contemplate a heel turn.

Dumbest thing I have ever read on this Forum, and that is saying something...

HBK - heart throb. what Woman would find that skinny , balding crosseyed old man attractive, hahaha

and Batista only became the Animal after Roadwarrior Animal left.......Animal and Heidenreich won the WWE tag belts on July 25 2005 ...four months after Batista won his first world title and was going by the nickname the Animal.....

who was " the Viper " before Randy Orton.......

How is Jack Swager a Patriot like Hogan....... cause he admits he's an American?
...

I could spend all day...

Someone could easily be built to take his place....

but if anyone is turning heel soon its not Cena........ its gonna be HHH. I see him and HBK having a feud soon, and it will give Trips a reason to get to Main Event with Cena again at WM .

Uh... no. That was one of Test's (Andrew Martin's) biggest complaints... that the WWE was character driven and that they (WWE Superstars) had to sign contracts, stating that they'd remain in character out in public, even if they aren't "working". No, by bringing up the comparisons, I didn't mean that they were literal... does Swagger wear a mask like the Patriot? I was talking about their "roles". With that, Cena couldn't be a heal because he plays the role of a hero, not just a "face" and there would have to be some character changes to take place, in order for him to turn heel... notice how my answer didn't change...

I think that Cena turning would be kinda cool as long as they did it right. However, they would also need a MAJOR MAJOR face wrestler to take the top spot over for him. I don't want Orton to turn face because he's a heel, plain and simple. I don't see Orton ever being a face again. He's just too damn good at being "the viper/snake" type bad guy. I agree that Shawn being super religious now-a-days kinda limits what DX can do on screen. That's not saying anything against Shawn. I just know there are probably things that he won't do because of his beliefs. So, maybe a DX split will happen now because of......HBK? Everyone has seen HHH turn on Shawn so I think that maybe it's time for HBK to let some of his dark side come out. Maybe with Shawn and Cena on the dark side, it would allow HHH to partner up with some future main eventers. MVP is a possiblity. I liked when he came out to confront Orton/Legacy a while back.

i think this would be a great storyline i wish the wwe writers thought like you:) this is one of the things i love or loved wrestling for awsome storylines that unfold gradually but not to gradually like the dibiase randy orton thing.

unfortnately i cant see this or a similar storyline happening any time soon. Because cool rebel groups are a bad influence on children and we couldnt have that on a wrestling show that starts at nine pm could we{im being sarcastic by the way}

even if it did happen do you really think vinnie mac would put his lean mean merchendise selling machine cena at the head of it nah me neither .Good idea though vince wants to build new stars and putting them in a stable could really kick off there careers. It worked with the rock .

I believe Cena has found a new growth to his persona as a "new age John Wayne". He's all gruff and yet friendly at first. He loves to talk about the others before him. He talks about matches from last year like they were a lifetime ago. And then he gets into his 100% "The champ is HERE!" mode, all yelling and vein popping.

He's the 2nd coming of the Hulkster. No one thought it could really be done, but it was. Cena will eventually need to go heel, but not for a while. I would like to see it soon too, but I'm also not the target WWE is looking for.

If I were to book it soon, I would for sure utilize the hinting at a Cena/WWE Title conspiracy started by Ventura and continued by Carlito. Resentment drove Hogan to the nWo...

Cena wil lturn heel but it will be in the future. I'd like him when he turns heel to become a gang member like person. More like being an Arayan Brotherhood like person leading a gang like stable. Now I think Cena could pull off a gang banger type since he has the body to do it and when he gets serious on the mic it be scary like. CEna is awesome as a heel, proven fact when he was the Rapper Cena from 2002-2004, as a heel he was fantastic. Rapping against people, busting on them, he called Rey the mexcian Gary Coleman lol. Cena would be a great heel.

The only way to facilitate a Cena heel turn would be for him to destroy a bigger face then him

This right here is the most relevant thing anyone's mentioned on this thread; Cena right now is the biggest commodity in WWE, therefore, the professional wrestling industry, period. Every move that his character makes has to be carefully and meticulously planned and any changes have to be scrutinised to the nth degree.
In order to turn Cena heel and thus remove him as the "Face of WWE", you create a void, a rather large one that needs to be filled by someone else. Shawn Michaels stepped down from his perch after losing to SCSA at Wrestlemania 15
SCSA's reign as Top Dog didn't truly end until The Rock came into his own.
When Rocky took off for greener pastures, Triple H was already built to take the reigns.
Cena's at the helm, now that Triple H's pedigree isn't what it used to be (see what I did there?).

So really, the only time Cena will step down as The Man is when someone else steps up to take his place. So far, the only candidate for the job in terms of ablility, pedigree and quality is Randy Orton. His record for being a spolit brat backstage has held him back so far but this year has been the Year of Orton imo (check his list of accomplishments, you'll see what I mean).

Orton is poised to take Cena's spot but it's not a transition that will happen overnight.

If they would push guys like MVP on RAW, then Cena could step down as the man. They need to use Randy Orton right and get him back to the cocky, arrogant Orton cause this viper shit is not doing nothing positive. Also push MVP as he could make a good main eventer, and so can Kofi Kingston plus Jack Swagger( who I see as the next possible Kurt Angle). This way Cena could turn heel and be great again. He could pull off a Hulk Hogan and say the fans have not appreciate him and that he is doing his own shit now. I feel that Cena is a better heel then face anyways as it is so.
