Could Khali be drafted to SD's main event?

poppycock

Championship Contender
Could The Great Khali being drafted back to Smackdown to dominate the Heavyweight Championship division be possible or has he lost all credibility as far as a serious huge monster goes? Let him win the belt as a heel and keep it for a long time defending it against the likes of Orton, Swagger, Kane, Bigshow, Christian etc.. Build him up for a long long time to be unbeatable..give him a new manager (one who wants to dominate the WWE..sombody like Micheal Cole). Really build him up and let it grow this time (like an Andre the Giant type situation) Then have sombody just on the brink of becoming Championship material as in Wade Barrett face off against Khali for the belt in 5 or 6 months (or longer) and have them beat this unbeatable monster. It's not original at all but it could help the main event division on SMackdown. If people are sold by The Undertakers Streak so much and seeing as it's become a main selling point of Wrestlemania then this could be like that but on a much smaller house show level. It will take a while to get rolling but eventually when he really does look unbeatable people will tune in each week to see his destructive path continue and each PPV will have people tuning in to see if this could maybe be the moment he finally loses.

Could work with Kane or Bigshow too I guess.

The Great Khali would be detrimental to SmackDown's main event. In fact, I couldn't think of anything worse. I would rather have a limbless dog hold the World Heavyweight Championship. Hell, I'd rather have Hulk Hogan hold the World Heavyweight Championship.

Khali is big, lazy, botch prone and void of personality. He can't talk and he can't wrestle. He once tried to pin someone in a beat down. Why on earth should he be world champion? He has no redeeming qualities, but many faults. He is not world championship material. He's not even WWE material.

Not a chance. Khali lost his credibility as a monster a long time ago. It was right around the time he started doing to awful Khali-Kisscam segments, and turned into the Punjabi Playboy. It was all downhill from there. You take a look at him now and wonder how he was ever a former World Champion. Drafting Khali to Smackdown in an attempt to make a main eventer out of him would be a mistake because to get him back to where he was back in the Summer of 2007 would take a LOT of impressive victories to overcome the joke he has turned into and there's far better talent to push now.

That would destroy any credibility his challengers for the belt would ever have. Khali can't recover from years of jobbing and just being a plain joke that quickly. As a fan, I won't be able to take him seriously as a monster ever again. Even in the beginning, I thought he wasn't fitting to carry the belt. He just doesn't have the "it" factor. Sure, he's fucking huge, but that doesn't make a good worker. Guys like Kane or Big Show, they're interesting, that's something Khali severely lacks. A guy whose highlight for the year has been hosting the "Khali Kiss Cam" certainly shouldn't be champ. No way.

Why would you want to do that, the guy couldn't move back when he was a champion and even less so now. You cannot have a good match with Khali in it and the fans know that, he won't draw in the buys as a main eventer anymore... he attracts attention from India and is considered a warm up entertainer these days & to honest he's lucky to get that, he is so devoid of personality that I'm surprised he's had even this role for so long & he can't make anyone look good in the ring so I don't even understand why he's a jobber to be fair. He is the one guy in the WWE that SHOULD be cut

Yes, let's give Great Khali a lengthy reign as the WHC. Let's have Khali wrestle a 15 minute match every PPV, and deliver long promos every week on Smackdown. That should boost ratings and buyrates.

Even if WWE did want to book an unstoppable giant monster WHC, why on earth would you choose Khali over Big Show? At least Big Show could handle the workload.

Khali is around for the Indian connection and to provide a fun pop for live crowds. Anything they could possibly need him for in a major storyline could be handled 1000 times better by Kane or Show, or even Mark Henry.

Actually, now that I think about it, Henry wouldn't be a bad Smackdown draftee.

Are you kidding? Khali has NO credibility at all. Giving him any championship would be shooting yourself in the foot. He has been jobbing for too long and it will be years until he will be a credible champion. But I do agree he should go to Smackdown so he could job on there and I won't have to see him on Raw (even if it's only for 5 minutes in a backstage segement).

khali needs to go get into shape, then go to smackdown and dominate. big show and kane are probly going to retire within the next few years so i couldnt see them going to far up on the main event list, main eventers but more getting over newer talent. another guy that could be a asset to smackdown is chris masters, you know the guy the wwe is burying, if chris was to go get into shape, er, better shape then return and get a proper push he could be a dominating force on smackdown.

LOL, no I don't see it happening. He's been established as a lumbering oaf who's every movement and utterance is comedic.

Kane & Big Show get called into the main event at the drop of a hat & would be more believable in doing so, actually it could even be the case that despite their age Kane & Show have more time in the WWE then Khali, in the past 2 years or so Khalis mobility has gone down the pan quite drastically (not that he had much to begin with) & I can't see him coming back from it... his knees are shot.

AWFUL! AWFUL! AWFUL!..............AAAWWWWFFFUUUULLLL!!!!!!!. Can you not remember his fucking fail of a WHC reign in 2007? He sucked shit! ABSOLUTE SHIT!. Not even Chris Jericho or even Daniel Bryan could put on even a DECENT match with him. And Bryan has worked GREAT matches with some of the less great workers in WWE (eg Ted DiBiase at Survivor Series 2010). I would let Goldust, R-Truth, Mark Henry, Vance Archer, Tyler Reks and fuck even Santino Marella become champion before him. He is lazy, slow and a fucking boring personality. Enough said.

This has to be a troll thread. I can't fathom an internet wrestling fan wanting to put a title on Khali, I just can't. At any rate, I'm still going to play along for a bit.

Now while I would never suggest that Khali be given any World Title or even be involved with any long term angle involving the champ, he certainly can be used as a one off TV title defense for a young champion. They kind of did that when he had a match with The Miz. It wasn't for the title, nor did Miz win but Miz delivered quite the beatdown to him with a chair and ended up looking strong. If he went to Smackdown and got a title shot against say Del Rio if he wins at ER, Del Rio gains instant credibility.

Still, Khali has no business being a main eventer.

Do you know why Khali has never sniffed gold since John Cena took his title? It's because he is a terrible wrestler and an even worse speaker. If he was found to be main event worthy afterwards he would have stayed in the main event. Find someone who can put on a decent match for this idea instead of a useless giant who can't talk.

I wouldn't want to see this. I don't want to see Khali stagger around the ring, as he has one terrible match after another. Ranjin Singh could be Khali's mouth piece, but who would actually want to see another Khali World Title reign?

Khali could turn heel again. He could become the scary giant who puts others wrestlers on the shelf with the deadly Khali Vise Grip, but I think the scary giant persona ran it's course a while back. WWE has spent so much time grooming Alberto Del Rio as a top heel, and I do think he will get his shot at becoming World Champion soon enough. Christian is also a worthy candidate to become World Champion.

Khali is fine in his role now, and he really shouldn't be elevated to main event status again.

Troll thread? I don't have the time or care enough about the internet to make "troll" threads.

Anyway yeah I wasn't saying I want to this happen I was just wondering if he actually had any credibility left with the WWE fans and you have all answered that for me pretty strongly. I already knew Bigshow and Kane had credibility amongst the fans to pull off something like this.

I believe you mean Batista, not John Cena.

I do agree with you in this part though. Khali has no business ever main eventing again because he is terrible both in the ring or on the mic. He had his translator getting heel heat for him. His world title reign was boring and uneventful. I wish they had just awarded Kane the belt when Edge got injured during the ongoing feud right befor Khali won the belt. However, that cannot be changed now. Khali is a former world champion whether we like it or not. He will never get another world title shot though because he does not deserve one. The roster is full of guys who are better than Khali in every possible way and could easily make better champions than him.

What you forgot to look into though was that Khali's title reign didn't ruin him. His face turn did. He began doing the Khali Kisscam segments, and from that moment it was over. If it weren't for that he could have remained in a monster heel role forever and at the very least remained a midcard threat but WWE ruined him by trying to turn him into a face and a comedy act.

Khali dominating the Smackdown main event scene for months to come? What a scary thought. That era in WWE history would become known as the dark ages. Or possibly as the end of all time, if the WWE went out of business as a result.
It was pretty much the darkest of times Smackdown had ever seen when Khali did become champion. He was the backup plan to a backup plan. Everyone else was injured. And even then it was hard to believe that Khali was the best choice they could have made.

I guess my point is he is just a terrible wrestler and nobody wants to see him as champion. He wouldn't sell any tickets, he wouldn't be a ratings draw, he wouldn't have any quality matches. It's bad business all around.
