Cm Punks Heel Turn

CM Punk as a heel; good idea. CM Punk with the New Breed; good idea. The way CM Punk became a heel; bad idea. Now, if he follows it up with a killer interview, with a reason why he joined; good idea. The way it's going right now in the WWE, there is no more brand split. All brands appear on all shows. I believe they are grooming Punk to become ECW eventually, but, things change. Especially since VKM has his prototypical champ in place. Big & muscled. This is going to be a "wait & see" on this before I can give it a complete thumbs up.

straight edge will work as a heel.
To see for yourself go to youtube.com and search for CM Punk vs Raven.great match at a bar where cm uses the straight edge gimmick to create heat.

I've been a punk fan for a long time since he was in IWA .heal or face punk puts on a great show

Well well well. Guess I was right again, hmmm? Told all of you punk was turning heel. And appropriately the show he finally did so the tape got screwed up and I missed it... You marks won't stil llike cm. You will turn your backs o nhim like the fareweather fans you are. I never liked punk from the start and that won't change as heel. He ha sno charisma, no gimmick in my opinion, and is a snoozefest every match.

Actually, quite a few people have been waiting for this, Im of a neutral opinion on how this is going to work out, I would have prefered it if he stayed out of the feud and just gone as a chaser for the ECW title, Not being involved would not do anything to hurt or hinder his progress, just the same if he had joined the Originals, wouldn't have hurt or hindered his progress, From what I understand CM Punk is better as a Heel in terms of Promo ability and can turn a crowd in a matter of seconds. That sounds like he has Charisma. CM Punk has got a gimmick and that is a Straight Edge one, As a Heel he acts as a complete Hardliner and goes around saying that because he is Straight Edge he is better than everyone. This proves that you do understand little about terminology and their meanings in regards to Wrestling. And you only really need to know 6 terms to be able to discuss Wrestling on here. Why are you calling people on here marks anyway. Im pretty sure im not a Mark, I watch wrestling and very rarely do i "Mark Out" on WWE stuff, TNA occasionally based on What i see on YouTube, RoH and the original ECW actually make me "Mark Out" to an extent and the ECW matches have already been years ago, and I still enjoy it to that same extent. And I know the Results well in advance.

Keep rambling on as if you are better than me and all of them. Nobody cares, cm is boring anyway you look at it. He has no gimmick, straight edge=no gimmick. And as I said before I don't need to prove my wortth as a longtime wrestling fan to you, but you need to stay on subject and make a sincere attempt to not look foolish. I know it's hard... But give it a try lil' one...

Actually I have no wrestlers picture next to my Bed and don't quote the Rock. This is a place for discussion and I pointed out in seven lines how I felt about what you said, the last 7 lines were what you said by calling everyone on here a mark, your almost as bad as Kaedon calling everyone on here a dumb Smark. Im not trying to make myself better than everyone, I said what I said based on earlier threads that I read when I first started on here and in which I may or may not have contributed, I can't remember. Actually as a face Straight Edge=No gimmick, as a Heel however it appears that straight Edge is a Gimmick. He uses it as a way to get heat. Find me a promo from CM Punk when he was in RoH and say if its boring. I was on Topic for the majority of my previous statement as well. As to the 6 terms that people need they aren't that hard to know, (baby)Face, Heel, Work, Shoot, Gimmick and Angle. We all know them and discuss stuff based on it. Ill also point out that i haven't been banned once in the time that I have been here, so I don't usually come out looking foolish.

Is it me or can this be seen as a slight against the New Breed by having CM Punk join the New Breed. They say that his only addiction is competition, so it seems that he sees the Originals as competition and the New Breed are not competition. This is just a thought I just had while I was on WWE.com

theres allot of potential in punk, with the new breed in his corner it would be a great build up for the ecw brand, feuding with the originals is a great concept...actually perfect, this feud gives cm punk allot of dimensions, when he smiled before shaking burke's hand his smile looked so genuine so real, and thats what people wanna see, i think the originals getting another ecw original to come in would be great,,, thats why TNA guys like rhino or guys like the dudley boys are so vital to that brand the new breed represents a take over, a changing of the guard.... the future and thats a hell of a way to get this party started

Punk is probably playing with the new breed but I guarentee you nnext week he will be going 1 on 1 with Sandman

see if the wwe were smart and really wanted to push ECW, the would have something CRAZY happen, like the dudleys coming back or something of the nature...I mean im not sayin its pheseable as far as the contracts or anything, im jus sayin, something like that...some old ECW original who comes outta nowere to help the originals...dude, tell me the friggin building wouldnt implode on itself if like raven or somebody came out to help the originals...if they really try to get behind this, and do somthing like that, it would be awesome, and throw feul on the fire....

I knew he was going heel. I just thought that it'd be before or during Mania, to help him win the MITB.

And if you think about it, going heel was kind of a "duh!" type thing. Why has Lashley been on RAW a lot? To buy time. There's no top heels left in ECW to feud with Lashley for the gold. Show's still out, Test got released, all of the New Breed have a feud already, and Holly isn't going to get pushed again. Holly probably lucked out as was, to be in the Extreme Elimination Chamber.

So yeah, I see CM Punk eventually being pushed to the top, if nothing happens to put him back in the doghouse. However, I don't know if he'll win the title off Lashley. Vince likes the big, muscled-up morons. But Lashley may pull a John Cena and let the belt go for a month or two, then get it back.

Hopefully, though, during that month or so, WWE realizes CM Punk's ability to be a big draw if given the chance, and they keep him as champ longer. I don't know. Lashley is still green. I read spoilers on here about him trying to put either Orton or Kennedy (whoever was last to be eliminated) through a table and it didn't break the first time. And I caught at least one time where he went for the one-armed delayed vertical and let go with an arm and almost dropped his opponent, so he had to re-grab him and reposition the guy.

But a Punk/Lashley feud could be interesting. Especially with Punk as the heel. His heel work in the indy scene was phenomenal. He should do the hardliner gimmick and everything. Here's hoping that WWE doesn't screw up and that Punk finally gets utilized correctly.

CM Punk doesn't need to be a constant main eventer/champion yet. He's young and he still has a very long WWE career ahead of him. Take it slow and push him right.

Once again Prax, you have hit the nail right on the head.

There is no question CM Punk is a very talented young performer, but we also know what happens when you push people to the top too early. Let him do his time through the ranks.

He will, without a doubt get to the top, but don't rush it. I would love to see him on one of the two hour brands, in a mid-card title push. Either give the IC title to someone older and they can have a program with him, or put him in a US title program with one of the experienced guys on Smackdown. This helps him develop a bit more before pushing him to the top before he's really ready.

I hope his heel turn does see him in a program with RVD. The potential for some great matches is huge, and Van Dam can also help develop him a bit more as well.

This is where having the TV title would be good, you could have CM Punk capture it and then you have him with a title and you are assured that he will be on TV for a few weeks.

Indeed it would. Probably a better idea than the ECW tag team title idea, especially with the lack of ECW tag teams.

This would allow guys like Punk to get a decent mid-card push before being thrust to the top.

i THINK Cm Punk NEEDED TO stayed completely out of the New Breed/Originals story

i agree he should have stayed mid card and not joined in that newbreed / originals storyline as well he shouldnt be pushed into a main eventer yet he is good at the middle card

I don't think that getting involved in the NB/O storyline takes Punk out of the midcard yet. There was really no one else for Punk to fued with on ECW right now who actual makes regular TV appearances. I'm sure they could have brought back a number of people that were in the original ECW kind of like they have Stevie Richards fueding with him right now, but that really wouldn't do much for his character. The only real choices were putting him into the storyline or switching him to a different brand. The inevitable Lashley/Snitsky fued will be at the top of the card for a little while, so he won't be pushed up too fast. In the meantime, I think he'll benefit in from fueding with the Originals. Their styles are varied enough that it will be good experience in addition to adding to his pop/heat.

Well to me it appears his Heel turn is all a swereve. I mean I started to suspect something when he said he didnt want to reveal his reasons. But at the end of the match tonight with that OMG I threw that chair a little too hard ham acting job of Punk he is either a wold in New Breed clothing or he is settting up to embarass Burke and take over the New Breed as a uber heel and kick Burke to the curb

Yup i love what there doing to CM Punk right now. It does look like they are turning him into a strong heel and trying to get on the new breeds good side (besides Elijah Burke) so it could possibly lead up to him kicking Burke out and becoming leader himself. Should be interesting to see what happens next week after the chair incident.

PS. Punks facial reaction when Burke got hit with the chair was priceless!

I think they are doing the whole "punk takes over the new breed" angle waaaayyy too fast...I mean they had about what, 10 minutes of them being together and united before punk started stepping on elijah...I thought this thing would at least be around for a LITTLE while before they started the frtiction with burke and punk...I dunno jus seems like they couldve been more suttle with it in the beginning...

I agree, CM Punk having tension with his fellow new breed members this soon does not feel right. What happened to the part where they all get along and become a dangerous faction b/c they all work together to get the job done? Did we all miss 4 weeks of WWECW or did Vince skip those shows on purpose?
It must be a conspiracy! lol

I agree with you guys when I turned on ECW the other day It seems that we have gone fwrd about a month. I would have held this angle off till the next PPV

That's the problem with wrestling... either things happen WAAAAYYYYY too slowly or WAAAYYYYY too quickly. If you have something real good you try and take it slow and work it and milk it for everything it's got... but you have to keep people interested, and you have to keep things rolling.

This case seems like the latter... not because CM Punk isn't interesting... but because they have a point to get to maybe?

Either way... don't know it yet, we're only two weeks into the storyline... they might actually be going somewhere with this.

I have to admit that I've actually been interested in ECW the last two weeks and would even classify them as good shows.

I've never really like CM Punk, but as a heel, I'm starting to appreciate him a little more and I find him much more entertaining. I'm hoping to see RVD return to form against him and then maybe a Triple Threat situation with the two and Burke. Then maybe a heel vs heel rivalry of Burke and Punk. There are so many possibilities right now and WWE seems to be making a majority of the right moves right now...

I'm actually excited to watch the WWE again...Let's hope it lasts.
