Cm Punks Heel Turn

how stupid is this? CM punk should not have turned heel, but yet again this could mean a new Originals member or something, this fued just got a whole hell of a lot more interesting, your thoughts?

I didn't see the show, but I viewed this as imminent.

Punk was one of the most over guys on the roster, he was bound to get involved in some capacity.

Because of his straight edge gimmick, he just wouldn't have fit in with the Originals. Their pasts are just too well documented for that to make much sense.

I personally think he's just playing with the New Breed, but I'm happy either way. At least something of interest is happening on ECW.

It does bring the possibility of CM Punk having a feud with RVD that much closer. But I would have prefered it i Cm Punk stayed completely out of the New Breed/Originals story

turning punk heel i think is a good idea..i didnt c this coming..i dnt kno what they plan on doing with him as a heel esp wen this angle is played out but putting him in this storyline will put him over even further as a character..i think he has alot of potential to become someone real big in the future..only time will tell...

CM Punk was awesome as a heel in ROH and I am sure that this heel turn will boost him further. He wasnt really getting anywhere as a face and a feud with RVD would help get him over and hopefully he will get an ECW World title run or something in the main event.

i think they should get kelly kelly as his manager/ho..but have the fans basically still cheer her (some will probly still cheer punk too)..and have him fued with rvd....heres an IDEA.. bring the ECW title back to ecw.....i dont understand why lashley is defendin the belt against everyone except ecw wrestlers. but rvd an punk could have good matches with eachother imo

CM Punk being a heel actually is a preety good idea, imagine elijah burke and him teaming up on sabu and RVD in an extreme rules match, one can only dream. Anyway, this could lead to what everyone keeps on saying as he wil become a main eventer, or a ECW title run

Well I haven't seen the show yet and I won't get to see it until Friday (stupid Canada, lol), but it sounds like a great idea.

I didn't see this coming and I doubt anyone did. But heck! It's gotten everyone talking hasn't it? I'm betting a lot more people will be tuning into ECW next week to see what happens.

This is a great idea. I'm sure Dusty Rhodes came up with it.

I didn't see this coming, but CM Punk has been one of my favorite new wrestlers in years, and would have liked his "straight edge" gimmick to stay as a face than a heel. The much-boosted straight edge gimmick does not make much sense if he's a heel, does it? As long as he's a heel, I hope they drop that gimmick.

I haven't seen CM Punk in Ring of Honor, so I can't say much about him being a heel. CM Punk was perhaps the most cheered superstar in ECW, so it'll be interesting to see fans' reactions of him as a heel.

That was a shocker to say the least! I like the idea of Punk being in the New Breed. I'm just hoping now that the New Breed added someone, possibly the Originals will gain another member that maybe isn't already on the roster. Good twist to make the story line even better.

I'm thinking he should rip on Sabu and RVD for getting themselves in trouble for the pot incident last year.. Talk about how RVD threw everything away because of that and lost his titles.. He was on top of the world, but couldn't put down the weed..

Also, I'm sure, if he stays straight edge, he'd very well be able to egg on Sandman with that shit.. Straight Edge can be great if its used as a heel too because some straight edge people are very annoying with how they come across.

This was the right move by the WWE by far. Having him join the originals would be worse than him not being involved in anything, because he just doesn't fit in. Punk needed this to give his character a shake up and apparently, he works better as a heel. It was probably at the right time for him to turn because the fans had dropped off him dramatically and a shake up like this can do wonders for a wrestler. Punk will add more interest into the feud and will lengthen it in my opinion, and he just seems to fit in with the rest of the New Breed. It had to happen and I'm glad to see it did because it does open up Punk to facing people like RVD and Sabu in decent feuds instead of just having him useless on TV. This is hopefully the first sign that he is not so much in the 'doghouse' anymore and he should be benefiting from being in the New Breed pretty quickly. A good move by the WWE, and I hope the next move becomes more imminent as time moves on, and that is Punk moving to Raw or SmackDown. This should revitalise his career and I'm looking forward to seeing him as a heel.

I really wanted Punk to stay out of this Orignal New breed feud since I don't really see a place for him to be involve,there are four orignals and now five new breed's HOWEVER now he is involved I am somewhat excited as this does bring closer the prospect of a rvd punk feud which would just be awsome

I wonder why Balls isn't part of The Originals, maybe they'll add him to even things out. i could see Balls have good fueds with Cor Von, Burke & he's already fueded with Thorn & Striker it'd be a hell of allot better than him & Snitskey.

this could be interesting, i mean perhaps CM Punk will come out next week and turn on the new breed, like back in WCW when sting turned on NWO, and joined the wolfpack. i mean, its WWE anything can happen, but it does make good at how things will pan out in ECW now, and they should give Punk a title push now, and have the new breed turn on him in the future for the title, that could be a possible storyline for the future

He used his straight edge gimmick in ROH as a heel and he said he was straight edge and he was better than anyone because of it. He will pull it off. Maybe he will say he is bigger than ECW and get sent to RAW or something. As long as he reaches main event status like he deserves than I will be happy. And some championship gold will be a definite.

Eventually I wanted Punk to turn heel. I think this is to soon. He's one of the most over guys on the ECW roster. I guess a RVD feud is one of the good things that comes out of this, but I could see him feuding Sandman. It's classic Straightedge vs. Drunk. I guess we'll have to just wait and see what happens.

Finally WWE makes the right move here. I'm also like everyone else here saying that an RVD/CM rivalry would be a good thing. I think we just found ourselves Backlash's 3rd match.

He's gonna feud with and beat Sandman, because of the straight edge gimmick, which should get him over as a legitimate threat, then move on to feud with RVD. Personally, I like stables, and the New Breed is pretty interesting because they have all different personalities. Good job, ECW. With the right booking, everyone wil be marking out. They got the talented leader-Burke, the dorky, easy to hate guy- Striker, the silent enigma (including t&a valet)- Thorne &Ariel, the charismatic enforcer-Monty Cor Brown, and the new Xfactor- Punk. Plus you've got the potential for Punk trying to take leadership from Burke. Barring an "Invasion"-type screw up of booking, nothing but good should come out of this.

That doesn't mean anything, it's less about the Originals being apart of ECW before the WWE and more about them being faces...The ECW Originals is just a name...

And I agree with everyone that said C.M. Punk's straight-edge gimmick will work as a heel. I hate to stereotype, but every straight-edge person I've every known has had this holier-than-thou attitude about them and they plays perfectly into being a heel. And before I offend anyone, I DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT believe that is how every straight-edge person is, but it works as a heel gimmick...

I may actually get some entertainment out of C.M. Punk now...
