Maybe not the best of acquaintances. Punk did cost Wade a chance at the title, and things look south for Barrett as far as his Nexus Membership is concerned.

But, what if these two aligned? And dominated both brands with an iron fist. There is unfinished business with Taker as well and could lead upto Barrett/Taker (Cena/Punk is still up in the air) and Punk/Orton.

3 months of mayhem and ruckus with Punk and Barrett ruling like the Double-Headed Eagle of a Beast that would become Nexus, and eclipse the WWE Universe.

Should they? Or is Barrett's future elsewhere?

I seriously think Nexus needs new 'management' to prevent them from becoming stale, and whilst Barett is destined for big things, he needs to freshen up, add a new dimension to his character outside of his 'Nexus persona', and show to the fans that he can be a powerful force to be reckoned with, without Nexus' help

Barrett's time is up in Nexus. He needs a new storyline and a new gimmick and then maybe in the future they can have a Nexus/Barrett angle.

I doubt it would work. No offense to Barret, but I think CM Punk would overshadow him. I think the best thing for Wade to do is feud with Punk instead of joining him. Some people say he is too green to turn face, but I think it would work out. If it doesn't then it could be a heel vs heel thing. Plus we got the John Cena factor of who he will feud with with. Still many doors open, but I would not like to see both of them leading the Nexus.

CM Punk is a such better leader.
It's now time for Barrett to move on, to Smackdown! and have a feud with someone else. I think if you put Barrett in alongside Alberto Del Rio and Rey Mysterio, it will built up his reputation.

No. Their strikingly similar in style, they come across as natural born leaders. Just like how otunga and Barrett were having problems, the same would happen on a larger scale and it just wouldn't work.

I'm OK for Barrett to move over to Smackdown because he is a big, well established enough a star to succeed there by himself and will worm his way into raw sooner or later again anyway because he is a good wrestler and entertainer.

What really struck me in the whole confrontation between these two early in the night on Raw was how well Barrett held his own. We all know he has a way with words and he has proven it time and again in nexus, but actually seeing black on white that he could go toe-to-toe with a mic against one of the WWE top guns was inspiring. You could almost see that punk was speechless after Barrett called him a "waste of skin", hell of an insult.

Interestingly for me, I'd say watching punk and Barrett, that Barrett is a better leader. Nexus wouldn't still be around as a story if he wasn't so good at selling it all but it may just be because I'm used to him now, may take me a while for the image of punk as leader to set in.

I don't know. I'm a little scared for Wade Barrett in terms of future success. I've got a serious feeling that he'll be Vladimir Kosloved by this time next year if he doesn't get some kind of storyline. I mean here's a guy who has main evented with the top guy in several main events this year on PPVs. There would be no point in wasting that build up like that. So yeah, I actually would love to see a two man power trip between Punk and Barrett. Like I said, I believe Wade Barrett has relied waaaaaay too much on the rest of Nexus to get over. I think that's hurt him so much, it'll be hard for him to stand out or even get over without Nexus. If he goes to Smackdown, he needs to be heel. But I doubt he would be that over. So i'd leave him in Nexus, and maybe put him on Smackdown. Have them run Nexus together with a little friction rising each week. I hope the best for Barrett in whatever happens..

There isn't room for both of them in Nexus and I don't think Barrett has the tools to be a face. I think the best bet is to send Barrett to Smackdown where he will look to make a name on his own, but keep him heel as he is a natural.

I think theyre going the route of forcing a explosive allignment between him and cena and have them feud with the Nexus.

As sad as I was to see Barrett kicked out of Nexus, I am hopeful this will be his launching pad to a successful singles career. I mean, he was the winner of Season 1 NXT for a reason, and it wasn't to be burdened by the others from castoffs of the NXT 1/2 for the rest of his time in WWE. Granted, they each possessed good individual traits that made a good whole, but Barrett was the one that was THE WINNER, and should've been pushed the whole time, and they award Otunga, Gabriel, and Slater, and Bryan belts before Wade? Then WWE even fires Kaval as well? I mean one can only hope that since he's a hard worker, and has had other main eventers like Cena, and Jericho say good things about him in other interviews and other people rave about him in off stage enounters that it would behoove WWE to NOT let him get something soon. I think he's proven himself worthy to have a belt sooner rather than later.

Now is the time for Barrett to branch out on his own. What better way to do that then on Smackdown, away from Punk and Nexus. If Barrett were to stay in Nexus and work as Punk's right hand mand, he'ld be overshadowed in every way by CM Punk. As great as Barrett is on the mic and in the ring, Punk is better. So instead of advancing his career, Barrett would be stuck in someone's shadow. When you debut and you're already the leader of a faction, taking a backseat to someone is not a good idea, no matter how you spin it. And a Barrett/Punk alignment would do just that, even if they were noted to be "equals."

I love Wade, dont get me wrong. But he's done all he can do on Raw and in Nexus, and adding CM Punk to the equation won't help to elevate Wade, which he desperately needs right now. He decisively lost his feud to Cena, so he doesn't need to be in a situation where he would be looked at as second fiddle. I just see nothing left for him on Raw, even as a two man power trip alongside CM Punk. He needs to regroup and regain lost momentum, and what better place to do that then Smackdown? He's had history with Kofi, Edge, and Undertaker alike, so there are ready made feuds for him. All that's left is for WWE to pull the trigger and make the move. The best situation at the moment to really branch Barrett out on a single's career and allow him to remain in his element as a natural heel is away from CM Punk, and a move to Smackdown.

Well like we can probably expect, or at least it looks most possible that Wade Barrett is going to Smackdown, which would automatically mean that CM Punk is left to deal with The Nexus alone. Which in the end I think might be the better choice. The Nexus was meant to get the group over, but most specifically it was meant to get Wade Barrett over, and eventually make him a singles star. And that's what WWE has done, moving Wade out of the Nexus spotlight and into his own can only be the best of moves.

CM Punk / Nexus without Wade Barrett is bound to be intriguing, and I'd like to think that it is needed for them to do it on their own, instead of having an inside power struggle between Wade and CM Punk.

Barrett's time is up in Nexus. He needs a new storyline and a new gimmick and then maybe in the future they can have a Nexus/Barrett angle.

That might be a good idea. Seeing Barrett on Smackdown makes me think they're not going to follow through with a Punk/Wade power struggle, and that's disappointing. The idea of two heels fighting for control of the same faction could give us something to look forward to each week for a couple of months. I was thinking it might still happen now, with Wade doing double duty on both brands for awhile. But if not, Creative could let Wade escape to Smackdown for now, only to reappear in a few months to "reclaim" Nexus. If it happened that way, he would probably be a face, because there's no way they're turning Punk face with the momentum he has going.

The problem of how to re-do Wade Barrett's character is an interesting one. Since he showed up on RAW, his modus operandi has been as the king of the gang attack; he never accomplished anything without his Nexus buddies. Now, he's alone on Smackdown and we're going to have to see him in a whole different way, even if he stays heel, which he should.

Face it, the two times Wade was forced to go it alone, he lost.....to John Cena and Randy Orton. Now, he's forced to fight by himself and he's going after the Big Show, of all people? That's a character change. It's going to take skillful writing to rebuild Wade's character, but I think Creative will do a good job.

NOTE: By the way, they're talking about possibly adding a female member to Nexus? .....I vote for Serena Deeb. Yeah, I've heard that Punk was responsible for her losing her job, but I still want to see her fuzzy little head back in WWE.
