In an explosive WrestleMania showdown, the biggest heart in WWE will risk every part of himself against the collective forces of everything he despises as Rey Mysterio takes on CM Punk. And if The Ultimate Underdog loses the extremely personal match, he must join The Straight Edge Society.

The paths of Mysterio and Punk have collided with catastrophic fallout in recent weeks. Punk, along with his faithful disciples Luke Gallows and Serena, assaulted Mysterio with brutal back-to-back attacks on SmackDown. Mysterio cost The Second City Saint two huge opportunities, pinning The Straight Edge Superstar at WWE Elimination Chamber and costing him his WrestleMania Money in the Bank Qualifying Match against Shelton Benjamin.

Punk “crossed the line” when The Master of the 619 brought his family to SmackDown to celebrate his daughter’s birthday. As the WWE Universe joyfully sang “Happy Birthday” to the elated 9-year-old, The Straight Edge Society crashed the party. Punk challenged Mysterio to a match right then and there, as well as one at WrestleMania. Though he taunted Mysterio and his family mercilessly, the masked Superstar refused to give an answer or to fight while his loved ones were in the ring. Later that night, Mysterio attacked Punk, igniting an all-out brawl that spilled into the crowd.

Well I'm going to hold off about who I think would win. I'm going to answer your last two questions first. I would hope this fued would continue because this could be a very good fued. Mysterio comes out with his family then Punk comes out makes scares Mysterio's daughter and slaps him in front of his family. To me that's good stuff. This could be a very personal fued kind of like Jericho and Michaels fued when Jericho smashed HBK through the Jeritron and hits HBK's wife in the face if the fued continues to progress. Now to the hair vs mask question. I'm always a fan of a match with something at risk. So I would like to see the hair vs. mask. This senario could be like this. Like everybody says Rey's hiding behind his mask. CM Punk could be like the mask is a drug or something like that. At the same time Mysterio ask why punk still has his hair if Luke and Serena had to get their head shaved. So they would have a hair vs mask match. So who do I want to win? I want CM Punk to win only because if it is a hair vs. mask match this would like I said make this a personal fued because Rey says his mask is his apart of his Heritage and to take it off for 1 second would (kayfabe) devastate him.

I think it will happen. I would like to see at least a 20 minute match, but I'm sure with all the other matches it will be pretty short. It would be cool if they just fought by themselves and leave Luke and Serena out of it. I think it would riun the match IMO. Hair vs Mask match would be cool. I don't think that the feud will continue because it is rumored that Rey will have surgery after Wrestlemania. So I think it wold be cool if CM Punk just beat the crap out of Mysterio after their match making it look as if he sent him to the hospital and left him out of action for months. I think that would make the kids cry and hate CM Punk even more.

If Rey is indeed taking time off after Wrestlemania then I would like to see him lose the match. I would then like to see him return without the mask as a heel and a member of Straight Edge Society. But I cant see that happening for the same reason that John Cena wont be turned heel and it is because of Rey's popularity and merchandise sales.

Therefore I think he will win the match and if the stipulation is that Punk gets shaved bald then I cant wait to see this as its yet another reason why this years Wrestlemania is so unmissable.

This will be a really great match if they're given time. It could easily steal the first half of the show over MITB, Tag title match, triple threat and the divas match. So yeah, give them 15-18 minutes, let them go at it and we'll have a midcard classic on our hands. Punk hasn't had a chance to properly stretch his muscles on PPV since getting squashed by Taker, so he'll put on an awesome show. Mysterio is Mysterio, he'll run around and springboard and stuff and it'll be cool.

As for who should go over, I think it's gotta be Punk. Mysterio pinned Punk on Smackdown just before the Elimination Chamber, and then Mysterio pinned Punk inside the chamber. Then Mysterio caused Punk to get pinned by Shelton. Punk hasn't even come into his prime yet, while Mysterio is coming to the end of his career between injuries and how long he's actually been wrestling. It's been said that after Mania, Rey has to take time off to get knee surgery. So put Punk over, he deserves the win and can use the momentum after Mania.

And lastly no way should this be hair vs mask because neither of those outcomes works. Punk's hair is what shows he's the leader of the straight edge soceity. Usually when wrestlers lose hair matches, it's because they're going bald, like Angle and Show and so on. Punk's hair is part of his identity though, he can't get rid of it. And Mysterio's mask is iconic by this point and the merch that comes from it sells an ass-load. Keep it one on one and give them time, and this should be contender for MotN.

Im looking forward to this match. Hopefully they are given enough time to really go at it like they can. I dont think the hair vs mask stipulation isn't neccessary, and it doesnt look like that will be added anyway. I'd like to see Punk put Rey out with an injury if he is indeed taking time off after mania.

This could steal the first part of the show as mentioned above. No doubt about it, as long as it's given proper time. I think Punk needs to win to keep the SES looking like a force and Punk a credible threat to the title. On a side note, I'd love to see Punk vs Edge at some point. Rated R vs. Staightedge.

Luke Gallows won his match against Mysterio so it shouldn't be a Street Fight, even though thats what alot of wrestling sites are reporting right now for some reason... REALLY looking forward to this match. Sure its going to leave me happy. Hopefully Punk doesnt win and we have another "Man-Slave" fiasco like we did ala Steiner-Test...

Well now that I know it won't be a street fight I'm kind of let down but there is still the stipulation that if Mysterio loses he has to join the SES. Still pulling for punk.

As many have said, not a street fight after all. I did a sort of double-take when I saw this thread title just now. Not a spit-take though. I swallowed.

Anyhow, these guys are very capable of having some fantastic matches. Their first encounter at Armageddon a few years back was a fun little match and their match before Elimination Chamber this year was fantastic. Personally, I love Rey Mysterio. However, I realize his health isn't exactly tip-top at the moment. Thus, I'm all for keeping him with top notch workers. Hate on Punk all you want but he's really proving every week that he's the complete package, IMO. He will be able to work well with Rey Rey.

As for a winner? Rey is injured and is reported to have just pushed himself to get to Mania this year while Punk is in good health and is just red hot. I can't see why not to give Punk the win. In fact, Rey in the SES could work, but that's what throws my prediction off. I'm not sure if I can see it. So, flip a coin.

Winner: Rey Mysterio.

I think punk will win but rey will just say, "screw you," towards the joining the ses which will extend the feud. Although rey might need to take time off it seems to be a feud in which one match won't finish it. However, if rey does plan to take time off then rey will probably win and at extreme rules punk will beat the shit out of rey so bad that he is "sidelined" for a few months. Then the feud could resume once rey returns which could be the hair vs mask match predicted earlier. This would allow punk time to really cement himself as the evil straight edge savior rather than end it as soon as it got really badass. It would make the feud MUCH more interesting though if rey lost. However, I always seem to predict the matches as very complex so we could just be looking at rey beating punk clean and that being the end of that, WHICH WOULD SUCK. So hopefully punk wins to make the feud really intersting(even more so than it is now).

This right here is the match that I was waiting for. These two could move very well inside that ring, I'm pretty sure that they will make have a great match out of it.

As for the stipulation goes, I really like it. So if Rey loses the match he will join the SES, But how about if Rey wins, What will he get out of that match? I'm sure that they will add some kind of stipulation for Cm Punk, Other wise If Rey wins there will no point to it. Not that I want to see Rey win anyways.

Rey will fit good in the SES, And I will also like to see Rey as a SES member. So As for the Winner, I see CM Punk getting the win. This will be a back and forward solid match, But at last I see Gallows or Young some how helping Cm punk out.

If I recall correctly, the complete stipulation is if mysterio lost to gallows and then later to punk, then mysterio will be forced to join SES. Losing to gallows didn't make sense to throw in there, but it happened anyway. So now if punk wins, mysterio joins.

With this new stipulation, it seems to me that there's no way that punk is going to lose. Of course, it won't be a clean victory but he will win, and mysterio will be forced to join the SES.

Honestly, there is no other reason whatsoever for that stipulation to even exist, unless there's plans to use it as a continued story element.

Just like whenever someone throws out a stipulation "If I lose, I quit". Every time that happens, that person loses.

These two had a pretty good match on Smackdown a little while ago, so I'm definitely looking forward to this one. The storyline for this match has been gold. CM Punk has been doing a great job of playing the sadistic cult leader heel. Punk singing happy birthday to Rey's daughter was just a priceless moment.

Personally, I wanted to see a hair VS mask match, but still, I think this match will be entertaining. I think it's a lock Rey will win this match ,and get his revenge. I just can't see Rey joining the SES. It would be cool to see, but I don't think Mysterio is going to be humiliated by Punk and others for how ever long he would be in the stable. Punk could use this win because it would help him him get back in the title picture, but it won't happen.

This one is a toss up in my book. Like everyone else I want this match to be given the proper length of time, so the two can have what could very well be one of the best Mania matches in the past few years. I really like both of these two, that's why it is so hard for me to pick an outcome for this contest.
Mysterio is fighting for the honor of his family and to keep his freedom so to say.
The match he had last year with JBL was a joke, so this year I hope they let him showcase his skills. People are saying he is taking time off after Mania for surgery, I hope he can last a bit longer so this story dose not just die away at Mania.

Maybe Punk wins the match, so Mysterio is forced to join the SES. After taking a beat down from Punk and Gallows, Mysterio is then carried off. Of course he wont want to join the SES, so they will brainwash him. This could explain his time away. Have Punk say he sent Rey to be rehabilitated, or he sent him to camp. Then the could continue the storyline when Rey makes his return.
He could come back and have Punk have some sort of control over him. This could then lead to another superstar trying to help save Rey and the story could continue through out the summer.

A really interesting feud and i feel could be a great opener in the same vein as Owen/Bret at WM10 and Regal/Jericho at WM 18. I'm glad the unnecessary street fight stipulation is gone and that these two can have a good solid, 15 minute match. These two can put on a good show as we have seen at Armageddon 08 when the faced off in the finals of an IC tournament.

In theory, i think Punk should win to further the feud and hopefully extend it to a blow off match around 'Over the Limit'. If Punk wins and Rey has to join the SES, they can argue for a few weeks whether Rey has to take his mask off or just align himself with Punk. Maybe a street fight at Extreme Rules where Punk wagers Rey's freedom and Rey wagers his mask.

But back on topic, i agree with some of the previous posts that this could steal the first half of the show and hopefully, as the PPV is 4 hours, they can have more than 10 mins and show us what they can do.

I agree that Rey would probably win this one if it was Hair vs Mask but with this stipulation(if Rey loses he would join SES) it would be interesting in storyline purposes that Punk wins and then Rey becomes a part of SES so I am conflicted in terms of winner.Overall it should be good match

It's never that simple. According to your logic, Cena can never lose at Wrestlemania, even though he lost at WM 24 and took the pin. When Hardy was on top last year, he lost to Matt so you can't say he will win just because he sells merch. If you think he will win because it will further the storyline or feud then thats great but you can't just say 'he sells merch therfore he will win'. Rey can join SES and remain a face by being a un-cooperative member and showing remorse when he has to do heelish acts which can further the feud on to Extreme Rules, possibly in a street fight.

This is the match I am most looking forward to at WM. The build up to this has been fantastic. Punk has been a complete and utter cunt to Rey and looked like an absolute paedo when singing to his daughter. Rey looked like a mad man when attacking Gallows and brought great emotion to this feud. Its nice to see a nice upper mid card which hasn't been featured properly since about WM 20 which was Jericho vs Christian.

I'm a little dissapointed that the street fight stipulation hasn't been added but since there are two other matches just like it on the card this one would probably draw the quality of the others down and i'm sure they will have one at Extreme Rules.

The winner I think will be Mysterio just because I can't see Rey joining the Straightedge Society. I could be wrong though, they could make Punk win cheaply so the feud can continue which I would be very pleased with. Either way the match will be phenomenal and I cannot wait to see it.

The feud of the year so far. Undertaker vs. HBK? Didn't we all see it last year and if it was anybody else wouldn't there be more bitching? Thought so. Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon? It was going great until that car accident, they took a real storyline and made it as phony as everything else in wrestling.

I'm trying to not get too excited about the match, they haven't done anything with CM Punk in his previous three WrestleMania matches, unless you include default Money In The Bank wins as something. And Rey Msyterio has never been given a significant ammount of time at this show, his Matt Hardy, Eddie Guerrero & WHC matches would've all benefitted from an extra 5-10 minutes and all of them would have been minor classics had that been the case. I just feel that if one match get's cut short, it'll be this one.

I see Punk winning, for the storyline to continue it needs to happen. And if Rey Mysterio is going to have knee surgery, the SES giving him a kicking when he refuses to join would be the perfect way to take him off TV.

Looking forward to this match. I suspect that Mysterio is going to lose to make this feud go on a few months longer. Punk is working at his best in the WWE so far with his Messiah Complex thing that he's got going on.

The only thing I hope we don't get is some long, rambling Punk promo in the middle of the match. I know they serve a purpose, but save that shit for Smackdown, keep it off of the big show. Mysterio hasn't really impressed me as of late, so I'm hoping Punk can drag a decent match out of him.

Please WWE, no Rey Mysterio family for this match.

This match is going to be amazing. CM Punk is playing the perfect messiah complex heel and though he is still not as good as he was in his WCW days he is still the best high-flyer in the WWE. I very much hope that Punk needs. This would really start to show that the SES is becoming a true stable if they add another (albeit unwilling) member to their lineup, especially a high-flyer like Mysterio.

If they give them enough time, this could be the best match on the card. Their one at Armageddon a few years ago was very good, and that was when no one cared about Punk. At this point, Punk is by far the most entertaining guy in the WWE and Rey can still pull off some great matchups at times.

The whole thing with Punk acting like he wants to touch Rey's daughter in all the wrong places has been absolutely creepy and brilliant. I'd really like for a Punk win, but with the having to pledge his allegience to the SES stipulation, that won't be happening, which is really a shame.

I see Punk winning this match and Rey rey going the route of HBK when he was with JBL. Simply put you can have Rey in the stable, but do the I'm forced to be here sort of thing which can lead to Punk v Rey at extreme rules or something in turn still being able to sell the Rey rey masks to the little children.
