CM Punk in ECW

It was reported on wrestleview.com that new talent will begin working the ECW brand at the house show this weekend. Those mentioned beginning there ECW tenure, or continuing there tenure, are Francine, Test, and CM Punk. I couldn't be happier about CM Punk debuting and Francine making her way back to her throne as the Queen of Extreme! Thoughts?

CM Punk in ECW is great. He can work the better-than-you style with Sandman in a sort of dream feud.

More importantly, it's someone we've seen used at their full potential. And hopefully we'll see some of that in ECW.

He's by all reports a very talented wrestler, the current champ in OVW so I'm fairly sure Heyman is familair with him and will make good use of him.

Sure Heyman will make good use of him... but there's a chance McMahon will find a way to screw it all up... someone should shoot Vinnie Mac with a bullet that says, "Step off ECW" etched into it.

I agree that Vince should be shot but I am very excited to see Punk debut on ECW TV. Not right away but I'd love to see him get involved in a TV Title run or chase. I also wouldn't mind seeing him get involved in a permanent tag-team with the Snow Man (they have been tagging in OVW as of late).

Are there any clips or matches of CM PUnk on the net? Havn't followed wrestling for years untill ECW came back. Really curious who this guy is.

There are too many links I wanted to post. Just go to www.youtube.com and search CM Punk. There are a lot of good matches on here including a match with him against Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero in a 3 way dance. Also CM Punk vs. Vampiro is another great match on there. Go check them out, he is going to be a great fit in ECW.

You're gonna laugh but watch his match with Val Venis. It shows what ability he has as a heel and has some great back and forths between the two.

I went to youtube, and it's pretty heavy on his IWA work. Now, I'm a ROH fan, so some of it was new to me.

The Eddie/Rey/Punk triple threat is a classic. And the OVW clips are cool too (I don't have enough money for both ROH and OVW). But... if you're looking for what got Punk all the buzz, here are my recommendations, depending on taste.

If you like the Hardcore stuff, check out Death Before Dishonor (vs. Raven), The Conclusion (vs. Raven), Death Before Dishonor 2 Night 2 (with Ace Steel vs. Dan Maff and BJ Whitmer) or Manhattan Mayhem (vs. Jimmy Rave).

If you want great technical wrestling check out his amazing series against Samoa Joe. The shows for those are World Title Classic, Joe vs. Punk 2 (catchy, huh?), and All Star Extravaganza 2. He's been in a lot of good ones, but those 3 matches are considered by some to be the new millenium's Flair/Steamboat.

And if you want to see some great promos, check out Wrestlerave, Joe vs. Punk 2, Death Before Dishonor 3, Sign of Dishonor.

Yeah, this was sort of shilling Ring of Honor, but that's really where Punk made his name.

This is a great addition i do agree. I viewed a number of his matches yesterday upon hearing the news. This is a step in the right direction with the roster

Nothing wrong with big upping ROH TQType, it's the best thing in wrestling today, and any company should aspire to such quality.

So he's in ECW now for sure, debuting at the return home house show against stephen richards, and winning via submission, most likely the anaconda vice. Hopefully well see him on the show soon... anybody know of any clips from this match?...

thats wicked it well exciting that CM punk is in ecw this should help pick up ecw now! as for francine it is good to have some old ecw faces come back i hope we see her on sci fi soon!

I have heard of CM Punk, but I haven't seen any of his matches. Can anyone one tell me if he really is as good as everyone says he is? Also, where can i watch some of his matches?

I thought he was going to be appearing on Raw with his lady love, Maria. You know that whenever there's romance in WWE, they always try to use it as an angle.

CM Punk would be an awesome addition to ECW. I met him when he was still just in his indy wrestling days. Then I saw him on TNA and couldn't believe how much better he was getting. Seeing him on ECW would just be great.
