Christopher Daniels - Back as CURRY MAN!

Before we kick this off, I cannot stress enough that this was a storyline. I can't call you a moron as I almost fell for it myself as I saw what were apparently tears flowing from his eyes. Touching stuff.

There are still things I'm unsure of though, like where they're going with this. So let's be good little wrestling fans and speculate.

Personally, I think this is TNA creating an opportunity for a face turn and/or another "repackaging". The last one wasn't so much a repackaging but a "look, his beard is a bushy"-ing. Maybe they'll do it properly this time, by dropping the actual Fallen Angel gimmick instead of just altering his robes and drawing around his eye. But that just leaves the question; what gimmick could they actually give him? There's none that come to mind, and so I don't think they'll go down that route.

One thing that I think probably will happen when he returns, whenever that may be, is that he'll receive a Kaz-like push. It'll probably be far more entertaining than Kaz though, as his popularity will be higher as well as his overall skills being better-honed. He'll probably just feed off of whoever Angle faced a month before for a while, while TNA gauge the success of it.

I'm probably being too presumptuous, so why don't you tell me what they're up?

I think this is just bad TNA booking. I really don't expect this to go anywhere. He'll vanish for a few weeks. Return with his little piece of facial hair instead of that beard. And he'll be back as the Daniels from a year ago. Brilliant mid carder but in no way main event material. I think this is just a quiet way of dropping Triple X. They've already done the split before so I doubt they'll do it again. Senshi quit and Elix Skipper will surley be dumped again. This is just a way of having Daniels come back as a singles wrestler.

IMO Daniels should be where KAZ and Roode are currently propping up the main event guys. I am a big Daniels mark and hope he gets the push he deserves when he comes back. Why they reformed XXX i have no idea, Daniels is above a tag team position, as was Senshi.

Skipper on the other hand should join sonjay dutt in the opening matches though and never recieve a push, he is too clumsy in the ring.

I presume he will come back either in a very focused "mean machine" character role, or darker and more into his role as "Gods gift to wrestling".

Id prefer it if he came back as focused year ago daniels, his feud with Joe was brilliant, he needs to return to that glory before been pushed in a feud with Angle.

I didn't know that the fallen angel Christopher Daniels got fired cuz I went 2 sleep and didn't find out who was gettong fired. This sux a lot because he is very talented and he needed a huge push. He is a better singles wrestler and he shouldn't be a tag team. If he comes back I hope he comes back bigger and better

You know, I did mention that it wasn't real at the start of the thread (look up). It would also seem you didn't read the posts that followed as they referred to it as such. Your post borders on spam but I will be lenient as it does at least refer to the subject being discussed.

I'll be honest, I think Christopher Daniels is a better tag team wrestler than a singles wrestler. I'm not denying that he's not a strong mid-carder or that he doesn't deserve a push to a upper-carder, but I always thought he was a good component on tag teams.

If I were TNA, I'd put Daniels back as Styles' tag team partner. They both need something big to do according to fans, so why not be the example of what a good tag team should be? You want TNA to be different, this is a way they could be different. Still, that's for a different thread (now there's an idea).

If anything, being fired means something new for Christopher Daniels. And I think that means there's hope for him yet.

I question whether this is a way to split Triple X up completely, & with Senshi apparently (in real life) quitting T.N.A., I can somehow see this storyline being reversed as to where Christopher Daniels will either face Senshi, with the loser being completely fired.. or somehow their will end up being a loop-hole that states since it was originally Senshi's briefcase, he should've been the one to have been fired all along.

I agree with Jake in the fact that this is a stupid storyline & I can't possibly see what the reasoning behind it could be, unless Daniels is either tired & needs a break from wrestling.. or he's injured & needs time to heal. Either way, neither of those things have been rumored or talked about.. so I just see it as a bizzare storyline angle, that could either end with a great twist.. or a stupid misunderstanding that ends up having Daniels show up in about a month or two, as if he never got fired to begin with.

This might be a Hulk Hogan/Mr. America thing where he will come back in a mask but everyone will know it's him. He'll do all his moves and poses not to mention his chest tattoo. I hope this isn't the case cause that would be really lame, but it's a possibilty.

I think it would be cool if he comes out as Cury Man, which is his masked persona in japan and on the indies and then they have have revealed as Daniels later on. I kinda hope he comes back and feuds the likes of Cage as the Fallen Angel, i think that could be a great feud and i think cage can do for daniels what sting could not do and that's elevate him to main event status.

Im quite interested in this storyline and where its leading to as pretty much any TNA fan is unless you really dont like Daniels!
Peronsally i think he will be gone from TV for quite some time to really sink in the factor of being "fired", when he comes back i think he'll recieve big push and probaly say hes given up on his faith, and hates TNA for what they did and i expect him to kind of go all Team 3D on us, destroy poeple until he gets what he wants, which will be to be hired again. I hope thats what happens!

Are you fucking joking seriously, are you joking cause all that shit you just spewed makes you sound completely ******ed, with out Daniels help AJ, Joe, Punk, and many many many others wouldn't be where they are today, Daniels is one of the most underrated guys in the business today, and you may not know this but while he was Curry Man in Japan he was one of the most over wrestles there, he was that good, Daniels is capable of having great matches with just about anyone, he's had great matches with AJ, Joe, AMW (while with Elix Skipper), and Senshi, he's one of the best in the business today, and has been overlooked so much in the past, you clearly do not know your wrestling history, just cause he's not Main eventing in WWE does not mean he hasn't contributed anything to the business, and not sure if you're aware of this but this whole fired thing is just and angle, a way to take him off tv for awhile so they can repackage him and bring him back and hopefully give him the long overdue push that he deserves

I believe the main page said that he 'might' be coming back as CurryMan, but if it does to turn out to be the case then I think it will crash and burn very quickly.

Japan tends to be alot more accomodating of outlandish gimmics, where as over here I think it would lead to him being booked as a comic charictr allmost imediatly; and we all saw how good TNA is with humour on Ipact this week.

i just watched his match against Wataru Inoue from this past weekends tour of japan. he is still doin the dark fallen angle gimmick but the beard is gone.

persoanlly i hope he reverts to his old fallen angel gimmick circa 2005 but either go full blown heel or heroic babyface.

Personally I think Christopher Daniels is leaps and bounds over the rest in TNA, and nothing could convince me otherwise, he's by far my favorite wrestler in TNA Wrestling. He can cut great promos, have 5 star match after 5 star match, do technical wrestling, and high flying, the guy can do it all......main event level if there ever was one!

You know i kinda liked his previous 'circle round the eye' repackaging (oh so drastic as it was )....not because of any fundamental changes in his gimmick but more for what it signified in his spot on the roster..... i figured from there, theyd push him onto main event status, starting with his feud with sting,
imo, tna dropped the ball by not running with that particular angle, rather than not repackaging him well the first time. as for curry man........shit, why not make him and sharky tag champions.........then we'd only need david arquette as champ and we'd be back in the good old bad old days again!

You are joking? He was given his main event shot. Against Sting, remember? If he'd succeded in that then it's likely he'd be a TNA main eventer now. But it didn't work out. He fans didn't accept him and he didn't rise to the occasion. He's a career mid carder.

Im not quite sure where they will go with this and to be honest with all the rubbish in TNA at the moment I dread to think! They could repackage him as anything they wanted, I perhaps though maybe seeing be repackaged as a JBl type character and aligning himself with Angle. If Sting had of putten Daniels over at Slammiversary....then he would be in the main event right now, the reason he is not, is because he hasnt been used correctly in over a year almost. I sort of agree with what you're saying. It wasn't Daniels' fault that TNA built this as a major feud and then gave them a 6 minute long blow off match. Daniels is sadly still a career mid-carder, but this may be just what he needs. Curryman is hopefully just a short term gimmick for Daniels, and hopefully he is brought back as a face. I've always thought he could work well, but there are so many high midcard/main event faces, he would get lost in the shuffle, so I guess it's heel daniels again. Better than no Daniels at all.

I kind of agree with you man, I mean losing to Sting doesn't exactly end your push, even a 6 minute squash could have helped him get over, but ONLY IF THERE WAS A REMATCH! and from what I saw the build-up was pretty poor from BOTH men!

Daniels seems to just want a Gimmick more than most, and he's not bad on the Mic. I like his obnoxious "Fallen Angel" heel, but he always seems to end up in a feud where he forgets his gimmick, and something that really confused me with Daniels as the "Fallen Angel" he used to wear a SUIT to do commentary! Can you ever for instance imagine Undertaker wearing a suit at the announce table.

Unfortunately I fear this Curryman gimmick will flop and he'll be in a worse situation than when he started. Here's hoping otherwise

Did anyone else hear the INCREDIBLE pop he got when they found out he was fired instead of scott steiner. Dear lord! They went nutz! I thought they were going to riot, boos like crazy. Haha bet that made Steiner feel nice.

Despite what you may believe Daniels is over and I strongly believe this stands as proof.

And when they started chanting "Fallen Angel". Just AWESOME!
