Christopher Daniels Released

Aside from him being the poster child of the IWC which really irritated me, I always thought he was a good performer. Sad to see more originals go, but TNA had to cut some talent. Daniels may not have been making big money but he was there for such a long time and probably earning a decent sized paycheck. ROH needs names right now so I see this as a good decision for TNA and for Daniels.

What the hell is TNA thinking? This is just another example of how poorly run TNA is and why it's so far in the shitter. Of all the talents on the roster you get rid of, and all the people you cut to get rid of dead weight, you let go of Christopher Daniels? TNA is hopeless. They have all these old, useless wrestlers.. and then they have young talent unable to get over and lacking in very key skills.. but they get rid of the well rounded Christopher Daniels. There's nothing Daniels can't do.. he can wrestle far beyond most on the roster, he's above average on the mic compared to most of TNA's roster, and he's not old by any means and still has years and years to offer. What a bad move this is and a bad loss for TNA. TNA needs veterans to compliment and help build their younger talent, not only does Daniels fit perfectly into that role but he can still have the potential to become a star himself and his best years aren't even behind him. Instead you want to use other talent for this role who are older, who can't wrestler for shit, and who no one wants to watch? TNA gets more and more like WCW every day, it's depressing.
I agree with almost every thing here.TNA must have loss it's mind. They keeps people like Shark Boy who hasn't been seen in what feels like a year, Kiyoshi who might have less mic skills than me and Jesse Neel who cant wrestle for shit.I'm a huge Daniels fan (as my avatar shows) and am pissed he's gone.He has mic skills better than most of the TNA roster and he can wrestler with the best of them.Just watch his match with Kurt Angle.I don't feel TNA is hopeless, However this dose show how terribly TNA is run.I wish Vince took Daniels to WWE and made him a star just to piss TNA off

I do enjoy people saying Daniels is a young guy. He's 39. Good worker, can't talk and no charisma. He's an enhancement talent, nothing more. He's the guy you give to a young guy you actually want to push up the ladder. Daniels will make him look good.

I am no surprised. Even Daniels is a great talent, amazing mike skills and a credible champion. This is probably Hogan's decision. Makes me think what other stars will get released (Joe?) The only bad thing is that even less fans will get to see Daniels talent. ROH is probably the best thing for him.

Methinks a Joe release will lead to a full-scale riot from the fans. The two greatest matches in TNA history involved three men: AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, and Christopher Daniels. Congratulations TNA you have just sunk yourself more than ever.

I typically don't address posters individually but this "Hogan is the greatest" kid... You need to seriously check your facts. TNA was doing just fine before Hogan and the Band and Ric Flair showed up. I would much rather watch three straight hours of Daniels than I would three MINUTES of the Nasty Boys or Drunk Hall and High Waltman because Daniels has QUALITY not backstage political bullshit. Since Hulk Hogan and his crew showed up the ratings have gone straight through the floor.

This is WCW circa 2001 all over again. Mark my words, if something doesn't change, TNA will be bought out (likely by ROH) by March 26, 2011...You all know what that's the anniversary of.

I cannot believe this at all. I am by no means a fan of TNA but I still hate seeing TNA originals getting released for people who are past their prime. TNA management needs to realize it's the orginals that made them and by releasing them they ultimately cause their own destruction.

I don't even know what to say.

If they would of re-introduced him to the new viewers he would of been prime. I remember getting introduced to Christopher Daniels in the early 2000's and wanting to see more and more of him. Just because his segments aren't getting over doesn't mean he isn't a possible a draw. The problem is all the new fans think this guy is worse than Sean Morley because he jobbed to Morley within the first weeks of new management.

I seriously would like a personal explanation from hogan/biscoff on there plans for the X Division. With the release of Creed and Daniels it doesn't look like they have to much concern with it.

I can't believe Lady Gaga and Muscle head Terry are getting the biggest pushes in TNA right now while The X Division is getting buried.

Christopher Daniels may not have been a main-event talent, I accept that but he was still one of TNA's best wrestlers, he had good mic skills (better than the majority of the roster) and he could have good matches with almost anyone (Styles, Angle, Joe etc) He could have been the perfect person to make the Global Title a legit belt.

It's sad that he's left but ROH is where he can be properly utilized, all he was doing in TNA after Hogan and Bischoff came in was job to Morley and have about 3 X-Division matches.

I do find it interesting that they've let Daniels go and still keep Shark Boy who has done jack shit.

While disappointing seeing as I really did think he was main event caliber, and one of the hardest working veterans in the locker room, this is what's best for Daniels right now, IMO. He was an innocent victim (of sorts) of the power shift since Hogan & Bischoff came in, and the Morley feud just didn't pan out (thanks to you, Cancer Crew ********ers), so I'd much rather he had been released to go to ROH where he can be a star again (and remain relevant) than continue to job in web matches for the duration of his contract.

Best of luck, Chris. Thank you for that epic Joe/AJ/Daniels II, too!

Why isn't WWE jumping all over this guy.... They could use a darker mysterious guy in WWE right now and they could make a lot of storylines and feuds with him.... Now listen, I'm not comparing him to Undertaker, but with Undertaker leaving soon, who's going to be the dark unknown in WWE...they could build him up while Undertaker is still wrestling..... maybe even storyline him with him a little.... he's in shape and a good worker as far as I know ( I don't watch TNA, but I like the Fallen Angel gimmick.)..... any other suggestions on what WWE could do with him, and why aren't they in his ear right now????

There is 2 reasons why they would of axed him

1.He didnt see himself in the company in 3 years time and might as well jump to ROH before he becomes largely irrelevent in wrestling

2.TNA unloaded him for Money

There is no way you would let go a guy who's an "origional", Always Solid in the Ring, Can work a Mic as well. This guy had an excellent match with Joe/Styles about 2 months ago.

I can think of a few "X division" guys who are less talented and less over at TNA then Daniels, They have kept them on, Its pretty simple daniels would be paid more then most of them, so IMO releasing daniels might be the first sign they might of signed up one too many guys who saw TNA as a last ditch effort to cash in before they retire.

I love Daniels but they really have not had much for him to do lately in TNA, ROH is the perfect place for him he fits right in with the style of wrestling they showcase.
Hes alot better off there than in TNA jobbing to lesser talent(Morley).

The reason why is simple , his size other than Mysterio they dont generally hire people of his stature.

ah dude troll wtf is a troll?you been watching to many cartoons or something whatever the case may be. anyway i know what wrestling needs but more important in this case i know what wrestling dont need, and they dont need daniels like i said he is as entertaining as a carb board box. a lump on a log is more entertaining them him as a matter of fact i would rather watch a lump on a log. tna has wasted enough time and money on this nobody, he is not even good enough to be world champ when tna sucked and only had jarrett as their only legit star. he sure is not good enough to make it in tna today with all the star power they have now. the truth hurts sometimes but the truth is the truth. so what do you think about that you troll or what ever that dumm crap was you said? SO HOW BOUT THAT DUDE? what a joke
You must be Brian Knobs. That's the only way to explain your weird obession with Hogan and how you clearly have no idea how the wrestling business works. Calling Jarret the only legit star is crazy talk, Jarret will never have the name value of most on the TNA roster. He was just meant to be a great mid-card talent.

Daniels is a great talent, but he hadn't been used well in TNA for years. If you ask me I was always disapointed that he never got to run with his Fallen Angel gimmick to it's full potential. In ROH Daniels was a great heel and he should have been a great heel in TNA.

Sad to see him go but atleast this makes the X division MORE or less competitive depending on your point of view.

Daniels ia smart guy. TNA were abusing a talent of his quality,it sickens me. One second he's maineventing PPV's with AJ Styles for the TNA world heavyweight title, the next he's jobbing to Val Venis?! Disgusting use of talent. I'm kinda glad he left if he's actually gonna be used to his full potential , which is sad really him being a TNA original. I say Samoa Joe and Homicide join him. They look to be frozen out at Total Nonstop Hogan :banghead:

I am utterly gobsmacked.

Daniels was an excellent worker for TNA and I cannot believe they have let him go to ROH. Don't get me wrong, its an excellent cue for ROH, and its great to see him go back somewhere where he will be truly appreciated. But Hogan and Bischoff really missed the boat with Daniels.

He had an explosive gimmick with the 'Fallen Angel' moniker, and was one of the few pioneers of the X Division, which has also taken a dive in recent months. But it was totally the right decision for Daniels to leave, the X Division is now a joke and I believe he got out at the right time. Good luck to him I say.

Thank you, at least someone else understands where I am coming from. I'd so rather watch Christopher Daniels wrestle a strong match than see Hulk Hogan hobble around the ring and see him throw a big boot to the gut because he can't get his leg up. Yup, Hogan is much more entertaining now than Daniels is.:suspic: I don't miond Hogan so much as long as he stays out of the ring. Daniels is a solid performer that deserves ring time. Like I said, I hope he finds what he is looking for at RoH.

he should go to roh that is the perfect place for him. a third or fourth rate show for a third or fourth rate wrester, wait who am i kidding a six or seventh rate wrestler at best. i tried to watch one of rohs shows on hd net. but i could only get though like ten minutes of it befor i just had to cut that garbage off, so yea roh is perfect for him garbage with garbage. tna just has to much talent to waste time and money on a nobogy like daniels. that dumm curry man thing he done was the best thing he ever done and that aint sayin much but atleast i didnt have to look at his face. THANK YOU SO MUCH HOGAN FOR FIREING THAT PIECE OF CRAP WATCHING PAINT DRY WAS MORE ENTERTAINING THEM HIM.

Oh Mommy let you on the computer today? Once again check your facts. Right now, ROH is more enjoyable than TNA because they put up decent matches rather than have a Hogan-Flair feuding lovefest. Bringing Daniels in his Curry Man gimmick (which he works in Japan to huge pops mind you!) was a part of the TNA/NJPW talent agreement and also to see if the gimmick could get over in the U.S.

I doubt very highly anyone else here will call Daniels a nobody because we appreciate the work he's done for years and years. I'm rather sick of you, "hogan is the greatest", coming in here and spouting off your half-brained opinions on a matter you know nothing about. It's one thing to say you didn't like his work and were glad to see him go. I can respect that. It's a whole another one to insult the legacy of one of the foundational wrestlers that built TNA.

Daniels earned my respect and he WILL return to TNA (just hopefully not under a mask) once the execs get their heads from up each othr's arses.

Id pay to see a Daniels/Joe/Styles match again or any combo of that. Sure we saw that match happen 50 times a few years ago but those were hands down some of the best matches on TNA.

TNA losing Christopher Daniels is a loss.

While I do think that TNA could stand to future endevor a few of the wrestlers that are currently on their roster, I don't think Christopher Daniels (or Petey Williams or Sonjay Dutt) should be at the top of the list.

There is a man on the roster that I would have liked to see Daniels enter a long fued with. The gimmick that Orlando Jordan is currently using, would be a perfect fit for Christopher Daniels's religion angle. If they were given the proper amount of time to build this fued it could be one of the best stories that TNA has managed to tell. Daniells also has the ability to put up whatever Orlando Jordan lacks in the ring.

Daniels was a talented wrestler. He could carry a match and make someone look good, he could elevate and help make new stars, and when given the proper opponent, he could put on some of the best wrestling matches ever seen.

it sucks that daniels left, one of TNA's best young talents

:lmao: best young talents, well, I always new 39 was the new 23
anyway,. It is bad news that Daniels is released, but, he wasn't going to do anything in the near future, sso why not cut him, bischoff doesnt even care for X-Division, get ready for many more cuts in the x division. be prepared
