Christian's Return

Pre-Show Stalwart
So I've just read an article hier that said that the return of Cristian has been made a priority. With that being said what do you think is the best way for him to return?

In my opinion he should return as a face and form a tag team with someone new and maybe feud with the Shield or maybe challenge Ziggler to a title match. For the second I know many of you will say that Christian isn't big enough to feud with Ziggler, but maybe one or two show stealing matches or a triple treat or fatal 4 something like that.

I would love to see him in the main event with Ziggler but I think he would be much more useful in the midcard division. The midcard titles are getting a tad more interesting with Dean Ambrose and possibly Axel holding the belts. But for them titles to really mean something again, they need some top class feuds. Christian would be the perfect guy to feud with either one of these guys and help put the titles over. I would hate to see Axel having to feud with The Miz after he wins at Payback...

I am guessing he will be a face on his return given the fact that he has been gone so long. I think they should take that opportunity to get him in a main event feud with Ziggler. Christian is a seasoned veteran, and Ziggler could benefit a lot from a feud with him. After that feud is over then I think Christian could settle into the mid card and make a lot of difference there. He could feud with Ambrose which i think would be great, and if Axel takes the IC belt on Sunday Christian would make a good feud for him to. I think at this stage in Christian's career he still has a lot to offer, especially in the mid card division.

An easy way to ring him back is to have him be a filler in the Money in The Bank match. The announcers can put over that he's innovator of the TLC match giving him the advantage. After that I could see him working with one of the mid card heels heading into Summerslam. Ambrose, Sandow, Axel, Barrett all could be potential feuds for him.

I have a hard time believing that Christian is on any kind of priority list. He's good in the ring, but he's just not that over and I think he's looked at as old news. He's been apparently "waiting on a storyline". Frankly, that's the kind of thing that you hear shortly before you hear that the guy's going to be "future endeavored".

I say bring him back and form a tag team with either The Miz or reform a team with Chris Jericho. A better long term plan would obviously be the team with Miz. It would give both guys something to do and I think they can make a very entertaining face team. Also, as two former world champions, they can help bring prestige to the tag division. Shield and Hell No have done a good job, but we need more teams.

A team with Jericho would probably be very entertaining again, but in my opinion would only be a short term thing to give the Shield a nice feud to put them over, and a good way to turn Jericho heel before he goes on tour again.

I am hoping that Jericho turns heel soon and after doing so we can get Christian to return and feud with Jericho leading into Summerslam. It would make sense as Jericho we could have Jericho aligning with Heyman and talking shit to fans with Christian returning to call him out.

Aside from Jericho, a feud with Ziggler would be good or even a US title feud with Ambrose would be great to see both in the ring and on the mic. He could really help to push Ambrose further up the card.

In my opinion, Christian is someone who would be put to best use by being someone that WWE is able to build and keep looking strong, but ultimately winds up putting over new stars. With much younger & generally fresher wrestlers like The Shield, Daniel Bryan, Curtis Axel, Fandango and Dolph Ziggler in high profile spots and/or in the midst of strong pushes main roster and the likes of The Wyatt Family on their way to the main roster; it just seems to be a logical use of Christian.

I've been a big fan of him for a long time. Personally, I think he's someone that's pretty underrated and, frankly, I always thought that he was the better overall guy when it came to comparing him with Edge. However, times are changing and Christian is someone that's been plagued by injury for the past 1.5 years. He turns 40 on November 19 and if the past 18 months or so is any indication, then maybe the wear & tear of an 18 year wrestling career is starting to catch up to him. I'm surprised that WWE did give him a main event run a few years back. I do with it would have been longer but I wasn't surprised by that. I merely figured that WWE would have given Christian a main event run much earlier if they had a real mind to.

Christian is someone who could be put to great use in the mid-card or tag team picture as he's a 4 time & 9 time IC and tag champ. He's someone I could also see being a good opponent for Dolph Ziggler if WWE had a notion of putting him back into the WHC picture.

So I've just read an article hier that said that the return of Cristian has been made a priority.

That's ironic, given how long he's apparently been ready and able to come back. If the poor guy had any thoughts that the company was waiting with bated breath for him to recover from his injuries, I guess he's learned better, huh? Us, too.

Christian is one of many performers I've felt lukewarm about. Through the years, we've read many folks on this forum writing that he's better than Edge, or that they see him as a world champion for years to come. Honestly, I've never been able to fathom it. There are many performers who can wrestle a good match and tell a decent story, yet getting all excited about them usually winds up in a letdown. I've enjoyed watching Christian work, yet feel he just isn't strong enough to carry a brand.

But, okay....Christian is coming back and I hope they've got and innovative and exciting program for him to work.

One last run for the roses?

It's amazing how creative has nothing for Christian even though he's one of the most versatile people in the industry in terms of having feuds. Christian has a great set of mic and in ring skills and can play face and heel with a snap of a finger. You can have guy feud with Cena, CM Punk, Sheamus, Jericho, The Miz, Ziggler, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, or the Shield and it will make a believable feud.

As for him returning it's obvious he is going to be a face. If he does return as a face and Jericho is still a face and Punk is heel I can see him be in the corner of Jericho and have some sort of Jericho/Christian vs. Punk/Curtis Axel feud, if the roles are reverse just reverse the allegiance. Hopefully this will turn to a short Christian vs. Punk feud and while it's no blockbuster feud it would be a nice little filler rivalry while we wait for these two to find other people to work with.

Another possible rivalry is a short Christian vs. Ziggler World Title feud. I can see after Payback after Ziggler retains. They set up a Beat the Clock challenge at the next few weeks for the #1 contender. I can see the very last match is a surprise return of Christian and winning it. It would be a huge fan fare and it guarantees us a face fans are behind with and a good match.

While I am a fan of Christian, I cannot see another world title in his future. There is a lot of talent on the roster and he will no be given the chance. That does not mean he can not challenge for it. This should be his level; having the odd title match but primarily putting over younger talent and having high-quality feuds and matches.

There are several options: Sandow, Swagger, Curtis Axel and Ziggler stand out. Personally, I would prefer someone else to challenge for the world title. I think that a feud with Axel, with or without the IC title, would be enjoyable. It would give Axel someone good in the ring to work with and Christian is usually a comedy figure as a face meaning their is potential with Heyman. This stands true with Sandow where Christian could become, essentially an asshole to antagnoise Sandow and help get him over.

Swagger is another option and they could obviously use the fact Christian is Canadian. This is another feud where Christian would help get someone over.

Yay, my favorite jobber to the stars is coming back. :D I would absolutely love to see Christian return as a babyface and feud with Dolph Ziggler for the title. Love it! Much more than Ziggler feuding with Del Rio, Orton or Sheamus. They could have some kick-ass matches and Dolph could come out of this smelling like roses.

Alas, that's just me. It's mass-media, not me media and far be it from me to argue that Christian is a big ratings draw or something (not that Del Rio, Orton or Sheamus are). I would probably make more sense business-wise to insert Christian in a midcard feud with Fandango, Barret or Curtis Axel.

I'd bring him back face and insert him into the group of wrestlers trying to take down the Shield

He could have a very nice program with Dean Ambrose

Didn't John Cena go a little crazy and put Chiristian out of commission?

I'd have Christian return as a heel and feud with Cena through Money in the Bank. It would be a nice main event feud for him to return to, establishing his return before sending him to that upper midcard/world heavyweight championship division to help build younger stars.

This also gives Cena something to do while creative gives us a slow build to a Daniel Bryan push. Bryan's push should happen, but they NEED to give it time. He's already wildly over, now slowly push him to that main event level. In all honesty, I wouldn't have Daniel Bryan wrestling for the WWE Championship until AT LEAST Survivor Series. That doesn't mean he shouldn't be at the top of the card, but creative needs to give the fans a compelling story while he's getting to that WWE Championship.

Back to the topic at hand. Christian could even align himself with Ryback as a sort of mouth piece for him. Christian's heel work is especially good and could help pull heat on a heel Ryback. Cena vs Christian vs Ryback at Money in the Bank for the WWE Championship.

Bring him back as an announcer and send Jerry Lawler out to pasture. He can still wrestle the occasional match, but his time is winding down. They've got to plan for Evan Bourne, Big Zeke, and Mason Ryan's returns as well, and none of them turns 40 this year.

WWE is doing a masterful job of bringing new talent and talent that needed seasoning/repacking up to the main roster. They need to keep that going and make it clear to returning vets (Christian, Rey Mysterio, Big Show) that they represent the past and the company is moving into the future. If they want to be a part of the future, it'll be in a diminished role, either losing more matches than they win or sitting ringside or backstage. I'm a Peep, but he doesn't need any sort of major attention or angle upon return, especially considering that he is now seemingly injury prone. Get the guy a headset and a comfy chair. He can still do the Peep Show from time-to-time and if a young star is floundering, have the guy throw water in Christian's face and wrestle him on Main Event. Anything more than that is unnecessary.

Christian should return on the mid card, he is and for the most part of his career has been however he is very good at that and will be a great enhancement to the mid card titles. A rivalry between christian and axel/heyman or christian and ambrose would be brilliant.

Been waiting so long just to see Captain Charisma make his return because his return has been talked about for months but how come WWE doesn't pull the trigger on it? If they were talking this much about Christian, don't you think they would have brought him back by now and Christian has been 100% for like how long now? Here is hoping Christian makes his return at Payback or he makes his long-awaited return at Money in the Bank as a surprise entrant for the Smackdown Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a World Heavyweight Championship opportunity and Christian wins the Smackdown briefcase in his return

What better way to cap off his return

I think that Christian should return as a babyface, team up with Kaitlyn and Zack Ryder to face off against Ziggles, Big E and AJ. No real reason why Zack Ryder except for the fact that he's awesome and they pretty much reburied him. Why else would he bring back his stupid little web-show? He's not dumb. Kaitlyn would obviously join the team to get back at AJ for the whole scenario with Big E(called that one). It would be a cute little storyline which would be there for no reason at all, like DX vs Hornswoggle. No reason, just entirtainment.
