Nevermore..
Ok so just here recently I heard a Chris Jericho interview, in it he said "I won't come back to wear a suit and use long words and talk slowly. Everybody does that now." and I read somewhere else that when or IF he does return he would use a gimmick that is completely different from his y2j. I believe the quote went something like "wrestling fans get bored easily, I’ve been doing y2j for a while it got old. I did the suit wearing thing for a while, that got old. I need something new"

My question is, well basically make a new gimmick for Jericho! what would you do with him to make him "fresh" and "new"

I'd love for him to either be a face again or a cocky heel. I could see him playing the heel character that Bryan Danielson played in ROH, claiming that he is the best wrestler in the world. Alternatively he could just be veteran face like Edge was before he retired. Those ideas aren't really "fresh" and "new" but I wouldn't mind Jericho using them.

for his 9 billionth return he should just come back to win the IC title 25 more times. Sorry but I see Y2J as one failed gimmick after another. I mean come on just look at it: Lion Hart, Y2J, The Savior, Suit Guy.

The reason The savior failed was he had a Face 2 Face with HHH back stage & he toatally botched his lines live. Look I'm a canadian but he just can't find a gimmick that lasts. Not to mention he used to beat up old people, sheesh...

I would incorporate the whole celebrity/rockstar thing into his character. Also I would turn him face. Theres no point in having him heel if the majority of the WWE Universe loves him. Have him be as much of himself as possible aswell. Superstars should be more candid the further they get into their careers. If he were to have any other type of character it would be borderline multiple persoality disorder. He doesnt need to go for a title since hes already accomplished all that there is to accomplish so I would have him feud with somebody like Del Rio or CM Punk. I have a great fear that when he returns WWE is going to immediately put him into the mix with John Cena. He needs to use his remaining time to help develop some of the younger talent, so Del Rio would be an excellent choice. Theres always the possibility of him teaming up with a rookie and winning the tag titles only to have one of them turn on the other down the road.

Jericho was great as Y2J. Not sure what else he could do. He is sitll my favorite wrestler but has come back a few times and never impressed me like he once did. One thing I loved about him was as a heel, he could actually wrestle and being a heel to wrestle and win a title is pretty rare (except for CM Punk).

However, I think one area where Jericho would be great is in the IC title scene. We need to bring back some credibility to titles like that where they are more then just a stepping stone to the World Title. Would be sick, imo, to see him come in - take the IC title and hold it for a year defending it at each PPV, have some great feuds and put over some new talent as a major heel who nobody can beat.

The Y2J gimmick or, lets say the "The Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla" gimmick can't work to me in a PG enviorment. When The Rock returned, they let him say what he wanted for like two weeks. They used the word bastard last week with Michael Cole, but would they allow "assclown" to be said weekly? Would they allow sexual comedy, which is one of the things Jericho was great at, may I add? I don't see it, know it sounds stupid in certain contexts, but I can't.

WWE needs someone like Jericho back, whether it be as a heel or face, they just need the name recognition, and to add to that already established name he can now almost be considered that of a household name by some due to his time on Dancing with the Stars. You never know who might turn over to see Jericho, after seeing him on that show.

If he wants something new and exciting, I don't see much for him, but I'm not a team of people employed by the number one leading sports entertainment compnay employed to come up with creative ideas. Maybe they have something in the vault for him to try.

Chris Jericho as possibly the General Manager? I know it wouldn't make sense due to his clashes with the anonymous General Manager when the gimmick first began, but they could throw a swerve. I personally just want him back, awesome wrestler, character and Champion when given the chance.

Credidiblity look at the IC title nothing is ever done with exept for 2 things, the IC champ defends the title like once every two months or he looses it. Jericho is already a 9 time IC champ.

*face Palm* Does anyone care if wade barret is the current IC champ ? you want jericho to come back & hold the title for a YEAR. only adding to the fact NOTHING is done with the IC title exept for when it changes hands....

My thoughts exactly. A Jericho match on a PPV card is one that will always make it better because you can bet that at the very least it will be a good match if not a great one.

What he should come back as I'm not too sure. He's shown he can reinvent himself as Y2J and his latest gimmick were about as far away from each other as they can get, so I have faith in Jericho to come up with something. I wouldn't mind seeing them mimicking TNA to a certain extent and bring in Jericho leading a group of 'wrestlers' who were rising up to fight against sports entertainment. Reunite the Hart Dynasty and throw someone like Bryan in there and you'd have an interesting storyline. Not quite as full on as TNAs change but I reckon it would be good. They'd certainly become internet darlings for a while.

I really like this idea, Jericho's proved time and time again that he has no problems putting others over.

I also think at this point his gimmick should be more fun, a bit wilder, maybe incorporate the effects of a year on the road with Fozzy into his character and be the rock star WWE's missing since Edge retired.

I would get excited but the business isn't about the fans anymore. Whatever he does its not gonna be that crazy so... just come back and wrestle. My guess is he'll be a face on raw.

Look I'm a canadian but he just can't find a gimmick that lasts. Not to mention he used to beat up old people, sheesh...

Yes, Savior failed and you were there to see the backstage between him and Triple H..

He worked as a heel for more than 2 years last time and this gimmick he had is called his BEST gimmick so far..

Back to the case.. As much as Jericho would like to have a new persona, I would say bring back the guy we used to witness during the Attitude Era.. Nostalgic for some of the old fans who might tune back in, and for the kids who are the major demographic, its new anyway.. And he needs to come back on RAW.. For two purposes:

1) RAW's face crowd looks thin and depleted, and even with the imminent return of JoMo in a month or so, it would still need faces that can SPEAK.. And you have the heels who are arrogant bastards in ADR, Miz, Swagger etc.. Who better to put them in their places than Chris.. I mean he was the guy who used to stand with Rock and give him a un for his money..

2) Again, whenever ROCK comes back, it will be on RAW.. It will be epic seeing them have a go at each other one last time..

So IMHO, Old's Gold Chris.. Old's Gold..

Unfortunately a lot of my "best of moments" in WWE/WWF history are pre-internet and pre-adulthood. To me the intercontinental title always meant something more:
Tito Santana, Randy Savage, Ricky Steamboat, Honky Tonk Man, Ultimate Warrior, Rick Rude, British Bulldog, Razor Ramon

Some of these guys had heavyweight title reigns but I always classify them as IC guys. If you could somehow put value into the title, which I think is possible by having a credible guy show passion to obtain it and retain it for a long time.

I think it would benefit Jericho since most of the midcarders are the more athletic ones who would work some great matches with Jericho. Seeing him vs Orton, Cena, HHH, I dunno - it feels like we would be seeing the same Jericho we started getting bored with.

He's only returned once before. He changes his gimmicks to stay fresh, not because they did not. The only one that didn't really work was The Saviour, but it was still fine and better than a lot of current gimmicks. His gimmicks could last if he wanted them to, and he beat up old people as part of a storyline. It's not real. And his match with Ricky Steamboat was one of the best matches of the year. And oh no he botched his lines in one segment. Oh no, what will we do?? One segment does not matter, and he didn't go it again.

This shows why Jericho is one of the best he doesn't want to be stuck in same gimmick as before he feels he need to change to keep himself fresh so he doesn't it old. I loved Y2J he was entertaining and could wrestle and when he became suit guy he was soo much better on the mic and in the ring. IMO his last run was his best ever. Chris is one of the best on the mic ever he can get the fans too boo or cheer him in a split second. he can get us to do what he wants us to do. I would like to see suit guy again because as i said he was at the top of his game and really was the best at what he does but f he wants to come back as something fresh and new then a say come on Chris Jericho wow me one more time.

I wasn't there it was on Raw Live TV Dumb ass. HHH had a Face 2 Face Back stage Promo Jericho tried to do some lines & screwed up. It was really bad I even remember seeing HHH trying not to giggle at his stupidiy. Seriously He's been fired twice stroyline or not, he's debauted as y2J & returned as the suit guy to my count that's four returns to the WWE all with different gimmicks.

There were also times Jericho screwed up his lines while in the ring as "the know it all suit guy" who took 45 minutes for what whould have take 5 minutes.

He also had to google alot of his words of the day for his mic segements which was obvious and annoying

I like the Idea of him coming back to be the GM...

A GM who i believe generally everyone will like...

He wants a lighter wrestling schedule....

Whats lighter???? THAN NOT WRESTLING AT ALL.

and in a year or 2 he starts a light wrestling schedule

well maybe he could come back as a heel and try to become Undisputed champion again(by which I mean he wins both titles.) Just have him win the Money in the Bank match, win the title and then cash it in one the other show. they could let that drag if he wanted a new gimmick.

He's made one return.

Both of his gimmicks were two of the most successful gimmicks the industry has ever seen, both of them earning multiple championship runs.

I can't even tell if this post is serious.

i would have him return as a heel, with a heel stable, a canadian faction, or UNAMERICANS.

is christian goes heel they could lead the group, while helping young ''UNAMERICANZ'' get established in the wwe.

UN-AMERICAN'S
chris jericho(leader #1)
christian(leader #2)
tyson kid
david hart smith
wade barett
drew mcintire(dont know how to spell his last name)

christian and jericho can really help the younger un-americans get over.

Y2J IS ONE FAILED GIMMICK AFTER ANOTHER?!?!?!

You are joking right? You must be, or you are an idiot.

Jericho was successful in Mexico as Lion Heart, which led to him getting a full time wrestling job in the US.

As Y2J he was the 1st Undisputed Champion, a main eventer at WM, the most successful IC Champ ever and constantly over with the fans, winning almost every title in the WWE.

As the Savior he again became world champion, and when turning heel was putting on some of his best work for years.

Jericho has changed his gimmick in order to remain relevant. That is why he altered his persona over time. Either you have posted that as a wind-up of you have no fucking idea of how the wrestling business works. Look at other performers over time who have been around for years. Hogan changed to Hollywood to stay relevant. Undertaker was the phenom, the satanic character in the Ministry, the biker etc. It happens.

I do think that you were joking though, there is no way any serious wrestling fan can think like that.

One thing I know about Jericho is that he often times looks at The Undertaker and marvel at how he can just change his character either subtly or drastically. Granted Jericho is not that decorated to something so off the wall but maybe not. We more than likely won't see soulless Jericho but if he thinks outside the box he can come up with something he's happy with.

I personally missed Jericho's funny, wise-cracking, long locked rocker days, it never got old to me. But now it's like unless you aren't apart of the Legends comity you have to sporadically or plain frequently change their personas. I can go into the Cena/Hulk comparison and tell you about those but I want to keep this shorter.

Bring him in as the Hollywood competition to The Rock... put him as the guy who is gonna prove Rocky isn't the biggest star in wrestling history... He has the albums, the band, network TV... just needs the big movie role and if Rocky is smart he will get Jericho a part in one of his films... build a rivalry through movies... it'd be unique and the way forward for the biz... and I really could see Jericho in a Fast and Furious type movie as the asshole agent winding Rocky up...

Some of you are completely missing the point.

Chris Jericho is the best professional wrestler of his generation.
YES his entire generation of wrestlers, the same one that includes Edge, SCSA, Triple H, the Rock, Mic Foley, and all those other wrestlers that you are all so fond of. Why do I say Chris Jericho is the best, because he has done it all in profession wrestling.

He has had some of the greatest matches in professional wrestling.
He has been involved in some of the best feuds in professional wrestling.
He is one of the best to ever lace up a pair of boots, to get in the ring, and to talk on the mic.
He has won every title worth having. First Undisputed Champion, Multi-time WCW, WHC, and WWE Champion, Multi time Tag Champ, IC Champ, US Champ, so on and so forth.....
Hes managed to stay active for nearly 20 years without any major injuries.

Jericho has been to the top, hes been to the bottom, and hes been able to adapt over the years and recreate himself. He can work a program with anyone and it becomes gold.

Jericho has stated he doesn't want to come back and do the same thing hes done in the past because he knows it gets boring to see a performer continually do the exact same thing over and over again (cough the ROCK and SCSA cough)

Jericho wants to come back and give his fans, and the wrestling world something new to talk about, a fresh idea that no one has seen before, and something that makes him entertaining, and him enjoy being back in professional wresting again.

If you want proof of why Jericho is better than anyone else watch Breaking the Code, he lays down the blueprint and talks in detail about why hes been able to stay around for so long.

I for one cannot wait until he comes back to the WWE in any capacity.

Idk. The rockstar thing probably would've worked a few years ago when he was younger and had the long hair and they let Fozzy perform at shows. I'm not saying he couldn't pull it off, but it probably wouldn't look or feel right. I do agree that he could have some fantastic matches with Del Rio and Punk.

Anyway, what else can Jericho really do? I guess he could have a personality disorder. THat could make for some comedy moments. Faces and Heels alike wouldn't know whether they could trust him. I don't know. You never know with Jericho. Hell, I was getting a kick out of his last gimmick.
