That's true, but it's different than ONS. RVD wasn't telling everyone he was the best in the world, saying how he was getting screwed over, and threatening to leave the company without a title. Especially that last item.
With the match on PPV in Chicago, it will definitely make for an interesting variable. But it's hard to sell a story of Punk being the best and threatening to take the title away, if Cena dominates the match and wins. Or even if Punk wins after Cena dominates the match, it's hard to say he's the best, especially since none of us believes he'll leave Chicago as the champion.
The crowd definitely throws a monkey wrench into plans, but I think Punk has to control the offensive portion of the match in order to sell the story of the feud.
Well... Yes and no. ECW, although it was obviously under the WWE umbrella, was still being treated as a rival tribe at the time. And Van Dam definitely made the point that he would never get this kind of opportunity handed to him. It's comparable in little ways. But yes, this is much more extreme (accidental pun).
I agree with the story you see. At the same time, they're also telling the story of Punk as an underdog and Cena as an almost oppressive dynasty. So there's room for the wires to get crossed and for the two to throw some, dare I say, nuance into the affair. Edit: Lol, nuance in wrestling. What am I drinking?
Either that, or we're thinking this over a little too much. Of course we're both going to see who takes the lengthy beat down differently. You see Cena as the hero in this. Me and the live audience tomorrow won't.
Inspiring words there by Chavo. I wouldn't say he ripped Cena a new one, but he did try to light a fire under Cena's ass. I like Cena, but I know that there's a growing number of people that don't. I'll be the first to admit that Cena could afford to vary it up in the ring a little bit, so hopefully he takes Chavo's words to heart.
That said, I still think Cena is a fine performer that delivers more often than not, I'd just like to see it be MUCH more often than not. He's put on some great matches this year as well as some real stinkers. He has a chance to put on a great one with Punk tomorrow night, and I hope he pulls out all the stops to ensure that he does.

That's okay, I wouldn't worry about it. Nick Paglino posted a story about Kurt Angle's verbal screw-up on Impact Wrestling, and posted a photo from Angle in the WWE to go along with it. Keep in mind, Angle hasn't worked in the WWE for 5 years.

On July 15th, Chavo will team with Orlando Colon to take on Los Fujitivos de la Calle (Lynx and El Niche) for the WWC World Tag Team Championship, while on July 16th, Chavo will face off against WWE superstar, Primo Colon.
