Bush Segment

How'd everyone feel about the Cryme Time/Bush Segment?

I'm not one to be offended very easily, but I thought it was pretty tasteless. And I wouldn't say I'm offended, I think more ashamed that I would be associated as being such a big fan of something that airs :shit: like that!

I'm a white male from Canada no less, who absolutely hates President George Bush, and enjoyed most of the humor during the segment. But to have an imposter of your "country's leader" come off as almost racist and use the 'N' word (atleast that's what it seemed like he said up here... it was beeped out) was nothing to be proud of. WWE should be trying to get more fans with better shows, not create controversy to grab them.

All this does it add ammo to the TNA gun & all WWE haters! Crap like that won't make anyone think "Hey you know what, I'm gonna watch this shit again next week!"

For me it all just seemed a bit pointless. I didn't really feel it added anything to Cryme Time's popularity, and if they wanted to pad out the time then surely there could've been other ways of doing it.

Admittedly not being American or Canadian I guess it wouldn't affect me as many of you guys and gals.

I am an american, I felt it was stupid and pointless. I for one am tired of WWE wasting air space with this crap. It would help crime time a lot more if they would just put them in some good matches and pointless segments.

Also, am i the only one that thought he looked a tad like Ross Perot?

First, hello everyone.

Now, I have to admit I was a bit surprised to see this segment. My initial reaction was "Geez, can we just have a wrestling match please?" but then I started to get a little upset about it.

Politics aside, whether you like Bush or not, he is still the President and Commander in Chief of the United States military. It seems extremely disingenuous of the WWE to put on their "Support the Troops" thing and then ridicule the Commander in Chief that way. I mean, what the hell? Poor form by the WWE and it reeks of creative desperation.

yep yep, I'm an American, And i am white, and although i lean more towards the republican party, this was just really pointless. ya know?

just really seemed thrown together really fast, and it didn't have any rhythm if you know what i mean, for one, the impressionist really wasnt all that good. and two, cryme time is not good at being angry, like, not at all. big chad (That his name?) wasnt really commin off as upset about the N word, but moreso reading a note card. obviously he wasnt reading, but it sounded like it.

there was alot of awkward pauses and overall NON funnyness that really annoyed me.

why couldnt they just had a match with like, supercrazy vs chris masters or something? i mean it wouldnt of had to have anything to do with any fueds, just throw something in the ring, and show off some cool skills.

as much as i think some people talking everyonce and awhile is needed, that wasnt needed at all. it was pointless, it didnt affect the WGTT Vs Cryme Time fued or anything.

the only part i found funny was him flipping the fans off. just because sometimes i wish our president would do that to some people... but NEways, i love cryme time, and i want to see them wrestle, not do crappy segments with even crappier impressionists (W Bush and the Richards comic segments)

Cryme Tyme is a waste of tyme...maybe, if they would of done their finisher on the imposter Bush it would have been a little more entertaining, but then again, what is their finisher? have we even seen them wrestle yet? and yes, that entire segment was garbage...i have my opinions on Bush, but it seemed to wreak of "oh look at us we are WWE and we are controversial please somebody anybody mention this on VH1 or MSNBC or any tv show so maybe people will think we are edgy"
it wasnt funny or creative it was just another lame segment

ok the guy didnt say the n word he like like botched the pronunciation purpsley so u shouldnt be offended by that. second for ppl saying it wastes time, wwe didnt want to have this 3 hour special it was requested by USA network so they were just filling time. third of all, its funny. SNL does the same thing. just because its a wrestling show doesnt mean it cant have funny skits. i get sick of ppl acting like drama queens about this stuff.

I thought it was funny although i am from scotland, so it may of been a bit outa taste for Americans/Canadians. And we have seen them wrestle, and do know there finishing move. I did think it was the WWE filling time and they needed to have Cryme Tyme on the program but all in all i did think it was pretty funny.

again, i dont mind them doing funny lil skits, i dont mind people making fun of bush. but ya have to at least try an do a good job at it. I like the funny stuff, but not the stupid things that have no comedic flow... like this one didnt have.

i didnt mind it. its what is it, and im sure mcmahon doesnt care what any of us think, but to the point: when he said "condeleza rice, now thats 1 hot black bitch", u gotta admitt, u got the :lol2: face on, almost saying to yourself "hahaha omg he just said that". like shocked and laughing. i thought the finger part at the end was hilarious. thats just me

was it stupid? YES, but i didn't mind it that much. It was sort of funny in some parts, but it was a little dumb. Just let them wrestle. Ya we get it there funny! i think this was their worst skit so far, but i do think it was hilarious when "bush" flipped off the crowd at the end

I will say this again and for everyone here, you can't do anything to make the fans happy. Trust me God could make a special guest appearance at Wrestlemania and give Brian Kendrick a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship but yet you would have people complaining about it.

It was funny but it actually was a little offensive. I am as liberal as one can get...but still. Cryme Tyme seemed out of character. Usually they would've whooped that dude's ass. It didn't achieve anything for Cryme Tyme, the audience seemed more offended than entertained, and "Bush's" joked weren't even funny. It would be one thing if it was hilarious...but it just wasn't.

It was good in terms of exploiting what a racist bastard bush actually is.

However if you think about it. the next president could possibly be black, so this may be the reason WWE are doing it.

Especially with Crime time, since they are black.

It looks like to me the WWE want people to think, yea they are ******s, our next president may be a ******, ie.... we have to do somthing about it.

WWE are racist plain and simple, not because they are but because the goverment is therefore the WWE is. Tribute to the troops what bullshit.

If this black man (can't remember the name) is elected which i don't think will happen, he will be killed in the process or there will be a major fuck up, so he can't attend OR he will be FORCED to resign as president.

( bastards arn't they? )

I thought it was funny personally, and I am a Republican who voted for Bush.

Funny thing is, Vince McMahon and his wife both vote republican as well as a lot of wrestlers.

So, whatever the point of this was, it didn't hit it becuase it just left most people scratching their heads and wondering what the point was.

I don't get it. There are a slew of born again Christians in the WWE, and they always support the Republicans. Aside from Mick Foley (liberal) and Sean Morley/Val Venis (libertarian), I can't think of any other ouspoken non-Republicans in the WWE. That's why the whole skit poking fun at Dubya was a little baffling.

The skit was nothing more than a button-pusher. The overall feel of the show was akin to the late 90's Attitude Era as there was more blood and swearing in the show. McMahon has finally decided that the only way to save his pathetic show is to inject more controversial subject matter...instead of making it more intelligent like he did in 1997. They did the same type of thing on the ECW show with the Frenchie talking smack about the troops to Lashley before Lashley squashed his ass like a bug. It's just a quick way to get cheap pops without having to do anything like establish character or improve the wrestling. I thought the GW segment was pretty stupid. Not because I like Bush (in fact I'd like to see him deported), but it was pointless and plain dumb. There was no purpose and it wasted a segment of Cryme Tyme that could've actually been used to help develop characters for them for once. The bit was nothing more than playing off the local crowd for cheap reactions. I'm so glad I have Tivo so I can fastforward past $hit like this upon repeat viewings.

I would have thought most of the WWE's fanbase were republicans (stereotypes?) but Im from Australia so what would I know.

I just have to say, if you found this segment funny, you are fucking stupid. Dan1506, you also fall into this catagory.

The same people who told me to get over the Black man thing are offended as republlicans and americans? WOW man, WOOOOW. See the other Cryme Tyme blog for reference.

This may be the dumbest statement I've ever seen. If you don't care enough about politics to know who the fuck your talking about, just don't mention it!

Also the whole segment was boring, in bad taste, and a fucking waste of time. Whoever enjoys this shit the WWE is pumping out such as this segment are part of the problem.

I wish to God there were more people out there being part of the solution.

I dont see how in the blue hell this would offend people as half of the world hate Bush. I bet even George Bush would laugh at it! When George Bush got his own mic take of himself at that press conference a bit back....everyone found it funny that he was that stupid. But to be offended by that would be rather....stupid. It wasnt brilliantly funny at the same time though..

I think the segment got botched completely. Anyone who was paying attention would have seen that the impersonator was at first trying to be down with Cryme Tyme and got just a little TOO comfortable talking like them to the point he said ***** or at least tried to. But not being the best or at least the most prepared in front of the camera and on stage...both Cryme Tyme and the impersonator himself completely lost control of the whole thing.

I can see the people in the production truck saying "Oh god...NO this is bad"

Then of course he got his wallet jacked...thats a shock.
Anyone but me sorta getting sick of seeing the whole pick pocket thing? I get the fact that thats what they are supposed to be doing since thats there gimmick but hows a bout they steal a win in a match for once and stop having these lame ass skits every monday which is usually accompanied by groans from the at home viewers and "cheers" from the in house crowd.
I for one would like to be at the shows and actually hear whats going on cheer/boo wise.

I just hope they start wrestling more and talking less otherwise we'll be hearing a lot of "yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yo yoooo"s

you people care too much. I can't believe any would be offended by that Bush segment. Obviously you have no life, if things like that bother you.
Making fun of Bush never bothers me. However, when I want to see it done in an intelligent fashion, I watch standup comedy or reruns of Will Ferrell on SNL to do the job. What irritates a majority of us is that it is pissing away airtime on a WRESTLING show that shouldn't waste time with complete f**king nonsense like that segment.
