Bullshit about Movies

I'm not sure whether Public Enemies looks amazing, or awful. Can't tell. I haven't heard very good things about it.

It looks cool, but looks can be deceiving.

That end of the world move looks epic(in scope), but probably won't be great.

Oh yeah, and I'm excited as hell for it. Scorsese can pretty much do nothing wrong, I honestly cannot think of a single film he's made that wasn't at the very least entertaining. Even his worst films are better then the majority of films released.

Plus, I'm looking forward to a return to the suspense genre for Scorses. His Cape Fear remake is epicly underrated.

I watched a movie called Driven today. It was pretty terrible. Only watched it because of Kip Pardue and Sylvester Stallone. There was some cool shit in it (plus Estella Warren, who is EXTREMELY hot), but overall... blah.

Speaking of Kip Pardue though, just wondering if anyone has seen Loggerheads? I thought it was really, really, really good. I wish Kip would get more roles...

:( I liked Driven. I'm not saying it was the greatest movie ever, but it was fairly entertaining. Stallone was pretty good, and Pardue was probably better here, than he was in Remember The Titans...

Not a fan of Driven. Renny Harlin is among the worst directors in Hollywood. The best he's ever done is make a mildly enjoyable film out of Nightmare on Elm Street 4 and atleast attempt to make Mindhunters (which had SO MUCH wasted potential). Die Hard 2 is pretty enjoyable as well, but aside from those three films he's pretty much just made nothing but garbage.

Getting ready to watch Slither...anyone seen it? Another horror film I've been meaning to watch for months now and have heard great things about it. JMT, NSL, Murf?

We should start a WZ film club. The four of us can be condescending 24 hours a day and laugh at people over their lack of l33tness.

I try not to be condescending because people tend to be snippy with me after they realize that I'm better than them.

I'm dvring Heat right now. It probably warrants a rental based on Tdig's praise for it(he's in the club automatically).

My dad was a twatwaffle in B-Buster tonight so instead of Mulholland Drive I left with Sharks in Venice and The Wickerman(remake, should be hilarious).

ROFL, good luck with that Wicker Man remake. You'll be bored a good portion of the time, but odds are you will be laughing your ass off. Nicolas Cage literally beats like half a dozen women, steals bikes and punches women in the face in a beat suit. Godly.

Definately give Heat a rental. Don't DVR it off of cable if you are, because it'll probably cut out large chunks of awesomeness. Heat is definately one of the best crime/heist films ever made, and is probably Mann's best film (outside of my personal favorite Manhunter).

And of course Tdigs is in, that need not be questioned.

Slither...anyone?

Oh, I forgot to mention that in my post. I've heard good things.

I've been meaning to get to it since I decided to end my aversion to horror films.

You really should. Horror films are probably the most viscerally entertaining genre of film there is. Don't get me wrong, I love Fitzcarraldo as much as the next guy, but horror films have always been my number one obsession, even more so then wrestling or music or anything else.

If you ever want any suggestions for horror films let me know what you're looking for.

Haven't seen it...Sorry...

I'd love to be part of a movie club, but I'm not nearly as adept as you guys with director's and classic movies...

I've seen the essentials, but not the obscure. I'm better with actors/actresses, than I am with directors/producers...

It's best to start with some horror comedy, or some old school horror.

I'd suggest Feast as a good choice...For real...

Yeah but you're in here pretty frequently enough.

I think I'm just going to save Slither for tomorrow night...I'm too consumed with watching this episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Hilarious.

Feast is great, but I wouldn't label it a classic. Classic is like...Dawn of the Dead, Halloween, stuff like that.

I want to watch a movie tonight, but I'm torn on what to put on. Something old, that I don't have to pay attention to, or something I haven't seen yet, where I'd have to sign off.

Old options: Sunshine, Goodfellas, or , Face/Off

New options: Taken, Rachel Getting Married, or, American Gangster

I wouldn't say classic either. But, it's a good starter for someone who has avoided the genre. It's a horror, but it's got some sci-fi, and a lot of comedy. It'll suffice for what he wants, without making the poor kid wet the bed with nightmares...

Taken is a fun flick. I laughed and loved the action. Neeson kicks more ass than Segal, JCVD, and David Caruso.

I haven't seen Slither, X. Look forward to hearing what you think about it, though.

And I was raised on Van Damme movies, so all hating needs to stop now. :icon_razz:

Seriously though, Van Damme will always hold a special place in my heart. In fact, have any of you had the pleasure of viewing the film JCVD yet? It truly is a masterpiece. I can admit that most of Van Damme's films are cheesy and stupid, while still loving them, but JCVD is sincerely a tremendous film. I highly, highly recommed it.

And I received a film called Jailbait in the mail today. It's basically just Michael Pitt starring in a prison movie, which that combination equals AWESOME to me. Prison movies never get old, and Michael Pitt is the fucking man.

I'll let ya know tomorrow mate.

I've been wanting to see JCVD since I first heard about it, haven't gotten around it it yet. I'm so behind on current movies, I'm still watching movies from like 2006 that are "new" to me. Haven't seen a shitload of films, I haven't even gotten around to seeing Slumdog Millionaire yet. Been too consumed with TV shows I think.

I too love Michael Pitt, have you seen The Dreamers? That film has quickly risen to probably my top 20, maybe top 15 films ever. Absolutely love that film.
