The novelty of Lesnar being at a house show is the selling point for Lesnar being on the card in the first place. Last time, it was Lesnar's first wrestling match in Japan in about a decade and even though there was a significant time difference, it's said to have drawn quite well. The novelty here is Lesnar's first bout in Madison Square Garden in over a decade. Is it a huge novelty for us hardcore fans? Not really but, let's be honest, most of us will tune in anyhow.
As for Big Show, I've got no problem with him being the sacrificial lamb. Regardless of how many times we've seen it, a LOT of fans from all walks of life like seeing Brock Lensar beat the ever lovin' piss out of someone in a superhumanly dominant fashion. They loved it with Cena, they loved it with Taker, they loved it with Reigns, they loved it with Rollins, they loved it with Kofi and they'll love it with Big Show. Again, while his might not be as much of a novelty to some hardcore fans, more casual fans and some hardcore fans as well will enjoy seeing Lesnar decisively decimate a man 7 or 8 inches taller and 125 pounds heavier than he is. And yes, they'll pop big when Lesnar takes Show to Suplex City just as they have for everyone else.
