Bring Back [Insert Name Here]

Spidey Revivey

Porn is okay here long as it ain't dudes.
The topic is pretty self-explanatory. I want you to choose one former wrestler, and explain why they should come back to the WWE.

I do have a few stipulations, however:

1. They cannot be a part of the TNA roster at this moment.

2. They must have wrestled in the company for at least a year.

3. You have to give clear-cut reasons for why you chose this person, and what you would do with them upon returning. There has been way too much SPAM on here lately and I would hate to see this thread thrown into the Trash just for that.

My choice would be John Morrison. I know, especially on here, he gets a lot of crap for "not connecting with the crowd" and "has zero personality", but these same people said the same thing about Daniel Bryan and look what he is doing now. John Morrison was an outstanding midcard heel, and had standout moves in his arsenal that made him unique. I would love to see him fight against the likes of Rob Van Dam and Fandango, but I would have him return to reignite a feud with The Miz; due to their "Rockers"-esque background with Morrison being the Marty Jannety. It would give Miz a decent push and have Morrison back to being a name.

And in fantasy booking fashion, have Morrison and Fandango team up.

Now that I've shown mine, show me yours.

a team of morrison and fandango would be gold, I'd bring back The Rock full time (yeah, i'll get a lot of heat for this...) the rock back full time in heel mode will be entertaining as hell

Bring back Shelton Benjamin.

Shelton Benjamin to me, really had everything needed to be a top level talent. He had a good physique, lots of athleticism, good technical ability and has a rather extensive highlight reel of spots from the original Money In The Bank ladder matches when they were exclusive to Wrestlemania. The only thing he was missing was the ability to have a good promo but that's not to say he wouldn't have benefited by having a great manager such as Paul Heyman or a valet who could do his talking for him such as AJ Lee or something of that nature.

He suffered when he did the Shelton's Mama angle which I thought was funny but others may not agree and of course the stereotypical "I'm being held back cuz I'm black" character that had been done before but I really liked his Gold Standard gimmick which is when he did a lot of his best work.

I think Shelton made a great impression his first go around and I would absolutely love to see him return because there is still a lot of untapped talent and potential there. Especially now that the roster contains a lot of the guys from ROH and other Indy feds who have a style more compatible to his where as before it wasn't so much the case.

Great idea for a thread I could name a lot of guys and gals I'd like to see again

I'd bring back MVP. They really dropped the ball on him with his face turn. I remember when he got eliminated from the Royal Rumble there were jeers from the audience directed at whoever eliminated him (Big Show maybe?). Eventually they turned him into a generic face and had him tag with Mark Henry.

He was best as a heel, though, and even though he's 39 from what I've seen and heard he's still in good shape. He's the type of guy that you can slot in anywhere that's needed. If you need a good, solid guy to put your US or Intercontinental title belt on, he's your man. If you need somebody to move up as a transitional opponent for the WWE Champion, he's your man. Great on the mic and solid in the ring, I don't see how he wouldn't be a valuable asset for any company.

I'd bring back DH Smith. He's got the pedigree, the in-ring skills, the look, youth, and potential. If you can find a way protect and slowly groom his entertainment skills, DH would be a valuable longterm asset to the WWE.

I'd hold off his return until Tyson Kidd is healthy to return. Have the Shield continue their dominant run as tag champions. One night (PPV or Raw), Hart Dynasty return unannounced and defeat the Shield for the straps. Create a longterm feud out of these two teams that will spark the tag division. With the history between the McMahons & Hart family, you can also branch the Hart Dynasty off into a feud with the rest of the Corporation. You can go with a Natalya/Stephanie match too. Plenty can come out of this.

After that feud, have them go over a few teams and then trade the belts back and forth in a feud with the Wyatt Family. Let the Wyatt Family come out of the feud with the belts. When this feud ends, I would start using both DH and Tyson in both singles and tag team matches. Let the both of them showcase their skills as individual wrestlers and build from there depending on roster need/crowd reaction at the time.

I'd really like for Muhammad Hassan to come back. I liked hearing all the boos he would get and the the USA chants would start. He'd make it to where Vickie isnt the only one getting the loudest boos of the night.

I think it would be cool for him to come back and be anti America and take out all his opponents and eventually have the Real Americans go face to try and beat him but cant. Eventually have him get the US belt and just imagine the heat and crowd reaction he would get for him to win the US belt. Then you can have an American come back and take it off of him and bring the belt back home.

Max Moon. It doesn't have to be Konnan or Paul Diamond playing him but they need to bring that character back. They could explain his not aging is a result of being stuck in a black hole or something. The merch would sell itself.

I would love to see bobby lashley I just think he is someone that get things done and he was way better then rybeck but I do know he is not the greaties

Bill Goldberg.
What if he comes back for few matches.
Keep Goldberg's return a secret. At some time, let undertaker return and then let the Goldberg drums beat, and have him in the ring with a quote
''taker, You are next.''.
How about Goldberg not feuding with Ryback rather teaming up with him. Bill may help him in rising and let him become the champ.
Even, as u know whenever any1 asks Bill about his departure, his finger points towards Triple H, & vince. What if Bill have a feud with game's Corporation...

Batista - the guy would fit right in with the corporation and has the look. He is not a personal favorite but I liked him when he turned heel on mysterio and was feuding with Cena... plus he just looked like a bad ass when he was a heel. I would bring him back and have him win the world title and have the top "faces" Orton and Batista that way the corporation holds both belts.

Have him stay heel when the corporation angle ends and team with orton, create a new power trip. ;)
CM Punk and Daniel Bryan can play the Jericho and Benoit angle and beat the power trip!

I would've said Braden Walker because he's still undefeated in the WWE. Best vs Beast vs Braden triple threat would be a legendary Wrestlemania match. He wasn't around for a year though, or even a month.

I'd go with Batista. I think it would be interesting to have him be somewhat of a foil with HHH and Orton all being former Evolution members.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Kaval get another shot. He was released so suddenly and we never really got a chance to see him. I feel like putting my fantasy booker hat on right now so let me come up with a little story.

Triple H tells Daniel Bryan that he’s going to do him a favor. Bryan is a solid B+ worker for WWE and HHH appreciates his contributions despite him not being capable of being a top guy. To show his gratitude HHH brings back an opponent just for Bryan. Hunter introduces Kaval saying that he was also a star performer in high school gyms and YMCAs and is more on Daniel Bryan’s level. Hunter says Kaval was let go a few years ago because he didn’t see much in him but now Kaval can serve a purpose as a filler opponent for Bryan and announces they will have a match on Raw that night. Later Bryan confronts Kaval backstage and asks why he just stood by while Hunter ran him down. Kaval, looking ashamed, says he just wants to have a job with WWE and walks away with his head hung low. Bryan and Kaval put on a great match later in the night with Bryan getting the win. After the match the Shield comes down to attack Bryan. Kaval looks on disgusted before finally running in to help Bryan. Still outnumbered, Bryan and Kaval are laid out by the Shield but now Bryan has an ally as he starts to form a group of underdogs before they’re finally joined by someone like Big Show or Sheamus.

I know the story isn’t perfect but it’s just something I came up with off the top of my head when I saw this thread. And I know I broke rule #2. Sorry.

Shane McMahon

Shane is Vince's only son, his oldest child, and would therefore be the presumptive heir apparent to the WWE empire if he so desired to take it. With Triple H and Stephanie currently taking the kayfabe reigns of the company, Shane is a natural fit into any and all angles involving the McMahon-Helmsley regime.

As for his reintroduction, I would have Triple H and Stephanie underhandedly wrangle full power from Vince, and after doing so cut a scathing promo in-ring about having the future of the WWE in their hands. Then, in a wink and nod to the kickoff of the Invasion angle, Shane's music would hit; he would appear on the Titantron and lead off by saying, "What's up, Hunter? Surprise, Sis! You're there in (whatever city Raw's at), and I'm here at WWE headquarters. And as usual, your egos have gotten the best of you." He'd then proceed to say that he still owns WWE stock (or some other such plot device), and a power struggle storyline would begin leading up to a WrestleMania match between Shane and Triple H, with control of the company on the line.

I think Eric Escobar had some talent, loved his looks and if he was used well he would have thrived in the wwe...but he was released much earlier without given a chance to prove himself...

John Morrison or Shelton Benjamin

Both these guys were fantastic talents. They could wrestle, looked great and had alot of untapped potential. The only thing holding both of them back was that neither were that great on the mic, but that is a skill that can be improved over time.

I always expected both to push on to the next level and really break into the main event level bracket of top guys, especially Morrison as he looked like a superstar and is someone who could have played the HBK "Sexy Boy" role, and appealed to the female fans for his looks as well as the male fans for his in-ring skills. There are not many, if any other members of the WWE roster that are as creative and athletic as JoMo, and it would be a shame if we never saw him back on the biggest stage again, he is a great talent.

Benjamin was just an incredible athlete, his contributions to the MITB ladder matches were great and it did look like he was about to become a major player in the WW but then...he just kinda didn't. He was stuck with a terrible gimmick with his "Momma", but I was enjoying his "Gold Standard" work before he was released. He is still young enough to make a big impact in WWE, either as a singles wrestler or as part of a tag-team. I would be happy if they brought back The WGTT with Haas and Benjamin, they would be a great addition to the tag-team divison.

bring back ted dibiase i know he just left and did not resign with the company due to them having nothing to do with him. perfect story line him vs the undertaker in a short feud to finish at survivor series with dibiase winning and ending undertakers carrer in a casket match. way to work it have him talk about how his dad is the one to bring undertaker in and he needs to be the one to take him out. with undertaker older and close to retiring makes perfect sense, the torch can be passed and would not affect the streak. i know i will get crap for this one but hey it could work.

A month or so ago, maybe longer, there were stories on various sites, including WZ, stating that Batista was negotiating with WWE for a potential return. Batista was cast as Drax the Destroyer in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. I've seen pics of Batista in make up and I haven't seen one single actor whose ever played in a comic book inspired film that looks as much like the actual character as Batista does. It's a big budget flick that's due to be out August 1, 2014 so it's possible Batista could show up in WWE as part of an angle.

I've never been a big fan of Batista all in all. I thought he was pretty decent as a heel but the guy just never appealed to me. He wasn't all that good in the ring unless he had some much more talented guys to help carry him. He was able to do some pretty solid promos once he turned heel, but he was shit on the mic as a babyface. I could see him pairing up with Triple H & the new corporate power structure as Batista is a prime example of someone who benefitted under the "narrowly construed" vision of Vince McMahon as to what a WWE superstar should be.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Shane McMahon return. He's been gone for a long time and with him stepping down as CEO of ON You Demand earlier this week, that's led to all kinds of speculation as to whether or not it means that he might be heading back to WWE. If this was to happen, I think Shane should be aligned with the babyfaces as there's plenty of heat already being generated by Vince, Stephanie, Triple H, Orton & The Shield.

Only 2 names. Batista and Goldberg.

This time around though, book Batista and Goldberg like you book Brock Lesnar. Only a couple of PPVs a year and zero wrestling on Raw/Smackdown. Keep them as a special attraction that is around a few months out of the year. From there, you can build feuds against Lesnar, Punk, Cena, Orton, Sheamus, Bryan, etc. I'd pay to see those matches.

Other than those 2 and The Rock, not really interested in seeing anyone else back in the WWE.

I'd very much like to see the guru of greatness return to action. Didn't read the other posts about him so that these thoughts are hopefully my own.

John Morrison
He'd have one of the best looks in the company. If Total Divas is a thing, the WWE might want to bring in more lady viewers. Just like I don't watch Miss Tessmacher to see her cut a promo, women would tune in for JoMo, hirsuite or not.

Not many wrestlers are as athletic as the shaman of sexy. In a non-kayfabe world, amazing stunts works as a source of entertainment. You might get more non-wrestling fans to watch the spots (as one might for a circus act), than to grasp what ring-psychology is.

Ok, this one is a bit out there but my pick would be Luke Gallows. He really didn't get to do too much in his WWE days (Fake Kane, Festus), I don't know how many of you heard him on the Art of Wrestling, but the guy was legit fun as hell. LG was huge, and had all that was really needed to be a monster in WWE, if the Straight Edge Society could have run its full course I think that Him and Punk could have had a fantastic feud. Doc was royally fucked by TNA (I'm not someone to bash TNA for no apparent reason), He definitely should have been the one to challenge Bully ray, instead of Mr. goddamn Anderson, but that is a different topic for a different time. Luke Gallows would be great to see make a return, maybe as a Heyman guy?

I agree with the people who said John Morrison. Yeah his promo work isn't that good but he more than makes up for it in the ring.
I'd have him pick up where he left of in the upper mid card. He could work some good matches and win the Intercontinental or United States title and then work his way up to the main event scene and work with a guy like Punk or Bryan. During the "ECW" days he had some pretty good matches with Punk.
No I don't see him as the next face of the company or anything but if you want to bring back a guy that is going to have solid matches he would be a great choice.

Damn I can't just pick one.

If they brought back anyone I think they should bring back the team of Paul London and Brian Kendrick. These guys were really before their time. In an era where size meant everything in the WWE. That obviously isn't true anymore. I'm not sure but I think they still hold the record for the longest tag team title reign in the WWE.

I wouldn't mind seeing Paul Burchill and Katie Lea Burchill again. Or Kevin Thorn and Ariel for that matter. Luke Gallows, Serena, Melina, John Morrison, Elijah Burke, DH Smith, Shelton Benjamin, Beth Phoenix, Jillian Hall, Maryse, Michelle McCool, Muhammad Hassan, Kenny Dykstra, the list goes on and on.
