John Morrison needs a new gimmick and look.

hey man Jerry called him the Prince of Parkore monday night, for me though its not reakky a gimmick change cause from the moment the added the parkore thing his gimmick started to change as did his arsenal i think he just needs a fresh rock tune and some new pants. Oh and of course a new finisher.

I've become a huge Morrison fan in the past couple of months just by way of watching his incredible matches. This guy is great. If I would change one thing, it'd be the music. Not that he needs it, I just really hate that song personally lol
Morrison's look has come a long way. I think that the WWE initially tried making him overly unique, and it was too much for viewers to take seriously. The bedazzled abs have disappeared (thank god), and hopefully the fuzzy boots will follow.

I have heard the comparisons of John Morrison to Shawn Michaels and I can definitely see the hints of similarities. Morrison's character will continue to grow as the WWE provides him a push, quality opponents, and a serious role.
Also, he should keep the beard. It makes him look more grown up and edgy.

Morrison is getting the biggest push right now. Dar I say it, he is main event. So that i disagree with you Op.

yeah but all successful main eventers have had numerous nicknames, like 4 or 5 if not more. the prince of parkour and all those other ones work great for him. all the superstars who had good mic skills all had one thing in common. they all used their nicknames in their promos, it gets them over and they dont really have to say anything new. the mic skills are only as good as the words you use in them. they need to give him the mic and let him use his nicknames
Ever since JoMo started his feud with shameus he has really impressed me. He used to come across too cartoonish but now hes reminding me of shawn in 1995-1996. Shawn had that slow build to world champ. He had shots goin all the way back to 92, Jo Mo had his shots in mitb and other title matches where he was filler. Miz vs Morrison was awesome first raw of the year. My point is he has had that slow build too. Its very important for Morrison to be one of the final few in the rumble if not win it. Jo Mo is on the run of his career right now. Cena will probably win because hes safe, but Miz vs Morrison at mania new, exciting those two would tear the house down!

His character has already changed, it just hasn't gone through a major overhaul - something you'd see Chavo doing with Kerwin White. His gimmick right now is perfectly fine, but the problem is, there are way too many remnants of his previous gimmick. The slow motion entrance, his goofy music, and the fur tights (which I don't mind at all, frankly). NorCal's got it right, he won't move to the next level until he's firmly set in his new gimmick.
The fact that he's more toned down, and down to earth really put him over with the crowd. He needs to accentuate those aspects of his character, rather than leaving aspects of his cocky gimmick out in the spotlight for people to take notice.

I AGREE 100% his gimmick an look is just so bad, ive said to acouple years ago. He dresses like a gay ric flair but now id say hes more like the male version of melina, fur on your wrestling boots hahah.. he needs to get rid of the boots, the jacket the slow intro when he comes out, and a new entrance theme VERY BAD.. and he needs to stay off the mic his promos are not funny at all, save the promos for the professionals like the miz

This is a great idea! Let's take away every thing that makes him fun, unique and recognizable and turn him into Generic Superstar #57! Maybe some black boots and black trunks that just say "John Morrison" in Times New Roman font! The fans will love it!!!
So yeah, I think this is a dumb idea. If you haven't noticed, Morrison has had a pretty successful career so far and is on a huge roll right now. Not to mention that he's pretty over with the fans, so I don't see how his current look/gimmick is hurting him. The fans seem to like it, so why fix what isn't broken? It helps him stand out from a crowded roster of cookie-cutter guys.
If anything, he's toned down the Jim Morrison/Palace of Wisdom stuff since he's turned face, creating a happy medium; he's flashy and flamboyant, but not as cartoony as he once was so it's easier to take him seriously. Personally, I think he needs to start bringing some of that character back to help his promos; but that's another thread.
As for his theme song argument, I think he should keep it. It's a fun, energetic song that gets the crowd going. If Shawn Michaels can get away with having Sexy Boy (a FAR more ridiculous song) for 15+ years I don't see why Morrison has to change his.

Morrison is my favorite WWE wrestler. I dont think he needs a new gimmick per say. Just update his attire and theme. Keep the slow mo and all that jazz. It would be nice if WWE gave Morrison an opening segment on Raw just to see how he has improved on the mic. Let him be himself. Let the fans get to know his persona a little better.
What Morrison needs is mic skills. He is just boring and not funny. He tried some jokes a few eeks ago and they fell flat. Also needs to get rid of those fruity tights. I hate that fur at the bottom with those gay boots. With that being said, He is probably the best athlete in the WWE right now and will tease the main event status until he improves those things.
