Bret Hart lists his favorite wrestlers..

In a recent interview with Cardboard Connection, WWE Hall Of Famer Bret "The Hitman" Hart listed some talents in WWE that he is a big fan of.

"[The Bella Twins] getting better and better. I like Daniel Bryan. I love his style. I love his incorporation of actual wrestling holds and submissions and his style. I'm a big fan of [John] Cena. I'm a big fan of [Randy] Orton."

The Bellas, are you kidding me Bret. You are one of the greatest of all time and when you get asked this question the first people you think of are the Bella twins.

1. The Bella aren't very good wrestlers and 2. They suck at cutting a promo and doing backstage segments. Don't forgot for about a year they just sat beside the RAW guest star and smiled and looked pretty.

The rest of the list makes sense, but The Bellas stood out to me.

Well key word is "A Big Fan of" doesn't actually mean his favorite wrestlers.

If anything the people he mentioned shows how much Bret Hart understands the business. We complain about Daniel Bryan's IWC'ness, Cena being geared towards Casual fans and kids, and Bellas being ... well diva's. But it just goes to show that, to make a successful product you need a combination of them.

They asked who he was a fan of, not who did he think was the best. He thinks the Bella Twins are getting better, so what? They err kind of are. Nothing to get too upset over.

Maybe Bret has the hots for hot twins, maybe he nailed them both who knows? He also said Mileena was one of his favorites too a while back so its possible he just throws a girls name in there each time.

Technically all he said was they were getting better and better which I think is an accurate description.

It makes perfect sense that he likes Daniel Bryan as Bret has always had a soft spot for wrestlers with great technical prowess, something Daniel Bryan has in spades.

I can also see him being a big fan of Orton and Cena as well, Orton is very good in the ring and never wastes a moment in there and Cena even though isn't a great technical wrestler he certainly has put on some great matches in the past.

A little odd he said the Bella's but he may have seen a match of theirs right before the interview and took notice that they've gotten better, it could have been fresh on the mind therefore he said it.

Yes but they are much better divas then them in my mind (I.E Kelly , his niece Natayla etc.)

I am filing this one under the "Who gives a flying fuck?" category...personally speaking, I don't care who Bret Hart's favorite wrestlers are or who he's a big fan of. I've got no problem with Bret coming back to WWE and providing closure on his career a while back, but I really don't care for these little newsbits and the feedback that they get on the message forums. Just ridiculous really, let's not forget people, Bret Hart truly is great but he has his price and that's a nice WWE paycheck, he's not going to rock the boat by being "too honest"...

Just listen to his shoot interviews and see the difference between what he said when he wasn't with WWE and what he says now that he's back there with his Legends deal.

OP, no offense but this is a topic that will go nowhere. No fault of yours because I got a feeling you meant well with it, but these discussions are almost always just a waste of time.

Daniel Bryan? Ok. Orton? Meh I guess Bret sees something in him. Cena? Definitely a hard worker. The Bellas? What? Is Bret serious? I seem to recall about a year ago reports saying that The Bellas "made it clear that they don't like wrestling and aren't fans of it. But are in it for the Diva thing". I lost all my respect for The Bellas when I read that.

Now Orton is a guy Bret seems to like a lot. Me personally I like his in ring work but I don't like his personal attitude and his character is in desperate need of a change. I'm not saying change his character. I'm just saying add some more personality into it. Everytime Orton cuts a promo on TV I can't help but go for a piss break or change the channel or something.

Cena is a very hard worker. He does a lot for the company and can really go in the ring when given the right opponent and the right match. So I can actually see why Bret is into him.

Daniel Bryan has a lot of talent in the ring no doubt. His mic skills? Awful. It's so annoying when Bryan just says his "Okay?" Thing out of nowhere. But I'm fine with it because Bryan is a guy who lets his actions speak for themselves and can really go in the ring.

I was surprised though when Bret said The Bellas. I'm not gonna judge they're in ring skill on 3 minute matches but the fact that they don't have passion makes them a disgrace to the wrestling business and a disgrace to the passionate divas like Beth, Kelly, and AJ Lee who actually try to improve and get better. The fans just couldn't care less about them. Hell they made fun of Kharma's pregnancy and they still can't get a good reaction. I predict future endeavored after Kharma returns and squashed them.

The bella twins last couple of matches haven't been horrible. They do look like they have improved in the ring. I still dont think they are good and I'm not a fan of them. He didn't say they are the best in ring divas. He just said that he is a fan of them.

I bet 90% of the divas were not wrestling fans. Most of them are just in it for the money. Bella Twins just were being honest.

Not surprised he picked Orton and Bryan as favorites. Orton has been having a lot of high quality matches this year. And I'm sure Bret appreciates Daniel Bryan submission style of wrestling.

I'm not particularly surprised by the Bellas inclusion. If you see Colt Cabana's shoot, he talks about how Hart was supposed to watch a match between Evan Bourne and himself. He said that throughout the match the twins distracted him because they saw that he had influence. As for how good they are, Hart didn't say that they are the best. He said that they are "getting better and better", and I think they have improved since turning heel. They're not the worst Divas in the ring, and they've managed to cultivate a pretty good gimmick/character for themselves.

Daniel Bryan is obvious. He's a wrestler's wrestler. Hart's and Bryan's styles aren't that far apart as they're both submission specialists. And Orton and Cena are two of the best wrestlers in the world, no surprise at their inclusion either.

I disagree. Like I said in my first post they mocked Kharma's weight and pregnancy and they come out the next week to no reaction what so ever.. They can't draw heat to save their lives.

Better than Beth and Natalya? Well I don't know what you mean by that but wrestling wise it's not even close.

Anytime Bret Hart lists someone like Melina or the Bellas as his favorite wrestlers, you have to take that with a grain of salt. He probably wants to get in their pants at his ripe old age. He did say the Bellas have improved. I don't think it takes much talent for one Bella twin to roll from under the ring to the canvas though, or even escort some D list celebrity to the ring. That has been their whole gimmick for years now. I'm not surprised he named Daniel Bryan. I thought Bret would have a longer list of superstars like Cena, Orton, Punk, etc. though.
