I think for Roode to become/continue this heel turn there has to be more on the next impact.
if he comes out and says he's sorry or even acts like he's sorry for what he did, then it wont be as good. leading up to the match as well as even through the match they were tag team partners and best friends with no signs of tension. then one desperate decision to use a foreign object and even standing over Storm after the win, doesn't conclude to me full on heel. fans booed what he did no doubt, but he could still say he's sorry/act sorry and still remain face.
I hope that doesn't happen. if he wants to be full on heel he should be against the crowd and draw heat. I don't remember exactly, but I think after Hardy had the heel turn at the 10 BFG he came out after that and said he was tired of the fans or something that was against the fans.

It's bittersweet for me. In my ideal world, Roode would've won the belt at BFG instead of having Storm win the belt so soon with virtually no build up then having it hotshotted to Roode. Also, I'm a little mixed on Roode's heel turn especially with all the sympathy and build up with the vignettes for Roode going into BFG. However, I have seen Roode's past work as a heel and I did enjoy it so I guess I can't really complain too much especially since Storm is apparently injured. I just really dislike it when the world title gets hot potatoed. The feud between Storm and Roode should be good so I guess I can look forward to that. We'll just wait and see where it goes from here. On a more positive note, I did enjoy their match last night.

I'm okay with the way this all went down. Great match capped off with a solid ending. I still think, as I did many months ago, that James Storm has the potential to be one of the biggest heels in the company. I'm fine with the ending, but it should've went down in reverse.

Specifically, James Storm pulling out the singles performance of his career and still not being able to defeat Bobby Roode no matter what he did. Tons of near falls, multiple "last calls" and still Roode kicks out. After a frusturated Storm contemplates what else he can possibly do to win, Roode begins fighting back and Storm finds himself without options. After the ref bump, it should've been Storm on the outside contemplating whether to use the bottle or not. This would hearken back to his self-doubt about facing Kurt Angle for the title two weeks ago and overall thinking Roode "deserved" the title more than he did. Instead of cracking him with the bottle, I would personally have liked to see a re-do of the "fireball spot" he did to Jeff Hardy last year. Would've made more of an impact (pun not intended) and cemented Storm as a true heel, no questions.

Aftermath could've been explained by Storm realizing that being the world champion is the most important thing in any wrestlers career and he was stupid for trying to "hand over" the title to Roode. After defeating Angle, he knew he needed to "up his game" or "take it to the next level" in order to solidify himself as champion and not be regarded as a fluke or a flash in the pan. A true champion would do anything to retain the title, even stabbing his partner... his best friend/brother... in the back. He did what was necessary to keep the title and Roode should understand and even be sympathetic to Storms plight.

Of course, Roode doesn't and neither do the fans, which sets up the continuation of the feud between the two.

Does anyone know for sure that James Storm's concussion is legitimate? I know they have said he suffered a concussion and will be out 6-8 weeks, but that could be a kayfabe concussion, which would not be beyond what TNA is capable of doing. I'm not suggesting that is the case, I'm simply posing the question.

I think injuries have played a big role in how the main event situation has panned out here, and while i am not 100% in favor of how we arrived here, I think in the end, it's all been good. Two new stars, in relative terms, have been elevated to the main event and given the opportunity to carry the company for a while, something I have been screaming for for ages. Rather than going forward with a nauseating dose of nostalgia (at least in the title picture) they have shown faith in a couple of TNA originals, two guys who are more than ready to be there. I say it's about time.

Personally, I would have preferred to see face Roode defeat heel Angle at BFG, especially considering that Angle's injury appears to be legit, his time may be starting to draw short, and Roode apparently is ready in the mind of the TNA brass to be the top guy, otherwise he wouldn't be there now. Then a jealous heel Storm could have smashed Roode with a beer bottle, taking his title, and we would have the mirror image of what we have now, which would be even better in my opinion. There's no way they knew back at BFG about a Storm concussion, so while it may have all worked out well in the end, they were somewhat lucky.

Bottom line, TNA has finally done something surprisingly logical, hopefully this is a trend that will continue into the forseeable future. Because personally, I would much rather see Robert Roode, James Storm, AJ Styles, and guys like this, rather than the geezers. Any day of the week.

They gotta work in the concussion with the bottle. Roode will say he was screwed out of the win and it's rightfully his, so that's why he screwed James. Thankfully I stayed away from the spoilers on this one. Overall i thought it was well played.

I wouldn't be surprised if TNA just changed his job title to get people off his back TBH. He probably has exactly the same input now as he did a couple of months ago.

I've got mixed feelings on what went down on iMPACT! The match itself was decent enough and the ending was executed to perfection. I've just always found Robert Roode to be pretty bland and quite boring at times, but the way that ending was executed could change all that. I would much prefered to have seen James Storm given a decent run with the Title but this makes for a better story, so it looks like a good decision in that aspect.

I'm just not sure this is the feud that should have the World Title involved TBH. There's no doubting I want to see Storm come back and kick Roode's arse, but I don't think it should be for the Title (I know it would be harder to get to a feud without the Title). Watching their match on iMPACT! it didn't really feel like a World Title bout to me. James Storm is one of the top guys IMO but I don't think he, or Roode, are established enough as top talent to be feuding over the World Title. The match just didn't have the same 'feel' to it as other World Title matches IMO. This should be the top mid card feud, IMO, with the winner going on to challenge for the Championship.

However I can't say I'm not looking forward to seeing this unfold and seeing how well Storm and Roode can do. Hopefully we get a long, drawn out, bloody, brutal, feud culminating at Lockdown. There's definately legs in an angle like this and I'd like to see TNA take full advantage of that. Even if neither guy has the World Title this feud can run for a while IMO.

I am just glad that someone in the title picture turned heel without the involvement of immortal.

I think Robert Roode will be a fine heel champion. Maybe he can keep the "rich guy" gimmick going, hire a staff and call himself "the Canadian Employer" or something.

Perhaps James Storm is taking a vacation, with little mention of him so they can keep their options open. Storm could come back for revenge, or he could come back with a "I'm just sorry he got to the bottle first. We are still brothers" attitude.

Either way, it was a great match. Horribly acted ref bump notwithstanding.

I like how TNA is pushing the originals these days. I hope they do not forget aj.

I'm happy for Roode to finally be in the main event picture. Roode is the best option as a arrogant heel that turned against his former tag partner the charismatic James Storm. Storm can get the crowd behind him while Roode can get good heat mocking them. It's too bad that James Storm will be out a few months, but the good news is that their feud will continue to pick up right where it left off. I hope Roode can get a decent run before Storm comes back. It does seem like TNA has rushed through things quickly over the past few weeks with Storm and Roode.

A storyline like that could be built for months. I'm not complaining though since there is a need in TNA for a new face and heel in the company. Anderson, Hardy, Jarrett, Angle, and Bull Ray can't be the guys forever. Looking forward to see how Storm's character progresses over the next couple of months.

I'm getting more and more convinced day by day that Storm getting a concussion is a work. Storm was screwed out of his world title by his former best friend, brother, tag team partner. You saw and heard the reaction Roode got - people were pissed at him. You want to contain that reaction, you want to keep them hot at him waiting for Storm to come in and kick his teeth down his throat - that's the pay off, revenge. Classic premise.

So instead of immediately starting a feud between Storm and Roode the next week, you add supense. Storm is out for a while. The guy already has sweet babyface momentum and the best way to amplify it is to remove him from the company for a while, have someone else go at Roode, have Roode build some solid heel heat and when it's all said and done have Storm make his triumphant return and then you re-start the feud with Storm chasing Roode.

As far as Roode winning - I'm happy for the guy, I just don't think he's really got what it takes to be a successful heel champion. Maybe it's because I haven't seen him as a singles heel. Don't get me wrong, he's as good as it gets, but I just smell a flop unless he pulls a Bully Ray. I'm also okay with the World Title being passed around like a ****e three times within a month. Why? I know it's going somewhere. People keep saying "TNA doesn't book long term" and I can't read that with a straight face. It is going somewhere, it always is, it's just that some fans deem it stupid when they can't predict it. Difference.

These are good times for the Main Event. We got two brand new Main Eventers, they're slowly being repackaged and made into what they should be. Knowing what happens next week - it's going to be a fun month for TNA.

Using the bottle seemed to be a spur of the moment decision, and made for a good story when watching it. But when Roode snatched the title from the ref and stood on Storm it was if this was his plan all along...

This whole angle has been done amazingly and anyone complaining really needs to shut up, sit back and enjoy it. TNA has successfully transitioned a major babyface tag team into two individual main eventers and now with an interesting feud to boot. That equals a success. Anyone saying "oh they should have done it sooner or later" it doesn't matter as they have done what was intended and just because it doesn't fit your personal preference perfectly doesn't mean you should complain. It's what so many people have been asking for which is to push the originals and now you have two main eventing in a hot feud what more could you ask for.

Turning Roode heel was the perfect choice of the two as well as I feel that's where he will be his best while Storm has the charisma to be a great face.

Ofcourse it is a work. On one hand Storm says TNA is taking his concussion very very seriously. Then says he is wrestling short matches on the weekend. ummmmmmmmmmm hello???? You call that taking it seriously. If he had a legit concussion he wouldn't be wrestling at all. Any bump could lead to more serious injury.

The issue I have is if you want to add in a bit of reality to the shows then take the right steps to make it real. Don't say he has a concussion and is out then send him out wrestling on the weekend shows.

While part of me is a little upset that Roode did not get to have his big win at Bound For Glory, I am still happy that he is the TNA World Champion because nobody deserves it more than him right now. Storm having held the belt now too makes both halves of Beer Money part of the world title's history. The fact that we had a main event between two TNA originals for the world title was awesome, even though it was on Impact rather than on PPV. This is a huge step in the right direction for the federation and I hope that other TNA originals like Styles can come into the world title scene to put on show stealers with Roode. Storm and Roode should have a lengthy feud when they can, I think that would be the best thing for the title and TNA itself.

You should do everything you can to get the Impacts from a few years ago when Roode was heel in single. It was like the guy was born to do this. Hell there must be a few scenes on You Tube. His abuse of Traci Brooks was epic.

I also would have liked to see Roode beat Angle at BFG. I think with him winning the tournament, it would have been the perfect way for the story to end. Maybe they (TNA writers and management) felt it would be too predictable. I think they could have done better with James Storm losing to Roode. Have them face each other a few times, 2 ppv main events and then on the second or third try, Roode wins it by cheating.

I like Roode as heel. I think he has the goods in the ring to pull it off and has the mike ability to truly gain heat. When I first saw him he was a heel. And I really thought he was quite good at it so while I think he could have done well as a face champ, I'm not too disappointed because I believe he's doing great (and will continue to do so) as a heel champion.
