For you lazy people, what this says is that due to making a shrewd deal, a not that great baseball player who hasn't played in ten years is going to be paid 1.2 million dollars by the New York Mets for the next 25 years.

Not sure it qualifies as a shrewd deal. He basically just got 8 percent interest on his 6 million they owed him over 10 years.

Amazing that article says he was the highest paid in the majors with a 5 year 29 million dollar deal in 1991.
