Best Non-WWE/TNA Wrestler In The World

The Sunflower Samurai
Been thinking about this all day, and basically narrowed it down to two. Probably both the most gifted performers in their respective companies, and both have established themselves as the go-to guys for outstanding performances in 2010.

Of course, I'm referring to...

'The American Wolf" Davey Richards

"The New Japan Young Lion" Prince Devitt

I looked back at their Dec 2010 match but still couldn't make that much of a decision from it (Devitt was playing up a rib injury). So I ask you, the posters of WrestlingZone Forums, to make a decision for yourself.

And note this is all in-ring ability, with promos slightly playing a part (though neither man can really cut one, so...), so the first one I hear say that Eddie Edwards is better because Delirious decided to give him the ROH World Title before Richards will get a mouthful of BAWWWWWWWWWWWW from me.

X, bring your MMA Takayama to this thread and bless us with your guidance.

KENTA is my favorite, so I would biasedly go with him, but there's no doubt that the past two years Davey Richards has consistently been the most awe-inspiring wrestler not in WWE or TNA.

Personality wise, it comes down between Chris Hero, Austin Aries, and I guess Jimmy Jacobs, but I haven't seen much of Jacobs since he left ROH, so I could be off base with that.

KENTA was out for a fair bit with his knee injury and I reckon he's still getting back into the swing of it. Besides, I would put Marufuji above him at this stage, so many great matches in NJPW and then back in NOAH.

It's tough man, I'm a big fan of Davey's reportoire, but Devitt has so many outstanding matches against the best in every company, be it DDT's Ibushi, NOAH's Marufuji, or even Richards himself. I reckon if KENTA and Devitt were to go head to head, I reckon I could call it, though.

Yes Richards is fucking awesome. I got to see him wrestle live last month and he tore the house down. I'd have to say Chris Hero is one of the Best non WWE/TNA talents too though.

I love El Generico particulalry his feud with Kevin Steen which may just be the best hardcore feud of the last 5 or so years.

It should be Prince Devitt. Because he's Irish and I'm Irish. But I haven't actually seen enough of him to say he's the best. So instead I'm going to say Davey Richards.

Fergal Devitt is the shit. Saw him live before he ever went to Japan, and the things he can do are breathtaking. Hes brought an Irish Pride to Japan, and doesn't get enough credit he deserves in the wrestling industry as it is. Watch his matches against the MCMG and tell me he isn't one of the best wrestlers in the world period, and I will find you and castrate you with a coat hanger. No word of a lie!

Davey Richards is an obvious choice. Probably the most known indy wrestler going today. Whoever he signs with in the future, if he ever does will be getting more than just your average wrestler, cause Davey can do it all. I think ROH are genuis for not giving him the World Heavyweight Championship yet, as the day he wins it, will be pretty fucking big in the wrestling world for ROH.

Chris Hero is another given. Dude, when he, and yes I am saying when he signs with WWE or TNA, the minute he debuts all eyes will be on him as they were on Danielson and CM Punk when they walked into the light of mainstream wrestling. But, KOW's are too damn good, and I don't want to see them broken up.

Hirisho Tanashai is one some probably won't of heard of. Dude his super-quick, and for a Japanese wrestler even to me, has a great personality. Can do fantastic things in the ring, has worked with the best Japanese wrestling has had to offer and has worked with Samoa Joe back when Joe was the hottest thing happening in professional wrestling.

Honorable mentions have to given to guys like Claudio Castagnoli, KENTA, Roderick Strong, Kevin Steen, BxB Hulk from Dragon Gate, still IMO Ultimo Dragon and others.
