I am so happy Batista is champion.
First of all, he plays his role better than anyone on Raw. Knock him all you want, but he's a 300 pound body builder with a mean streak. He picks people up and throws them down. That is his job. I guess you guys would like him better if he did a few flips and had a nonsensical match with no psychology like Evan Bourne.
Secondly, the crowd loves him. No one on Raw gets a bigger pop than Batista. For all the complaints from the IWC about his getting shoved down their throats, the live crowd never seems to mind. The place explodes for him, and chants his name endlessly. When Flair was getting beaten, the WHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOs stopped, and the Batista chants were in full throat.
There is not a number of flying tiger space drops that can make a match more exciting than one the crowd is into. This is why the cruisers get shit on, and Batista gets pushed. He gets the crowd involved, they love him, he makes the WWE money. Evan Bourne and Jamie Noble are good bathroom break guys. People don't complain that they're on, but they definitely aren't the reason the mass populace watches the show.
It's just too bad it was Batista that got hurt tonight. His title reigns are usually fun, albeit short, and the match he loses the title in is always very exciting. Here's to Batista - Raw's best champion!

But wouldn't you agree he gets a much better reaction and is at his best when he's being screwed out of the title and can get the fans behind that? I mean, I never really liked Batista, but it seems to me that's his best spot. Not everyone fills in the oppressed role well, but Batista seems better at that than as champion.
It's obvious that you're trolling, since this thread is not exactly in favor of Batista winning or in praise of his spectacular performance abilities. Regardless, let's look at your points, since Batista is popular with the crowd, he deserves to be in his spot. Well, Jeff Hardy is even more popular and they seem to think he doesn't deserve to hold the title long, so the popularity contest is null and void. Batista doesn't do acrobatics, yet he manages to injure himself anyway while doing moves worthy of a baggage handler at an airport. His matches are for the most part predictable and boring, yet you praise this quality because "the crowd" loves him and he plays his role well, again, Jeff Hardy is exactly the same, yet I wager you'd shoot him down because he actually tries to entertain instead of doing a roid rage act each and every time, why ? Because you're more interested in being "different from the IWC" than you are in being objective. Sorry if I seem to be angry at your opinion, but when people defend the bland because the masses like it I get pissed.

Yeah, remember the time he broke his foot doing push ups? And the time he got injured while running with his ex-wife. That guy is holding the strap. Reasons like these are why I don't even count any championship in WWE as legit anymore. Let's face it, it's all pre-planned, they all know months, weeks, days in advanced that they are GOING to win the title. No maybe. No uncertainty. Not like UFC. Not like NBA. Not like college wrestling or anything. They don't KNOW they're going to win. They can hope to win. They can want to win, but there is that element of true surprise and that ability to call themselves a champion because they weren't booked to win it but because they did it all on their own.
I love wrestling. Have since I was 6 years old. But there are certain aspects that still piss me off. I virtually don't even count champions after they became world wrestling ENTERTAINMENT. Batista winning the belt means as much as Ben Stiller winning an award as a character in Tropic Thunder.
Worst part - they don't even care. Vince. WWE. Everyone who works there could give a shit less. Brock Lesnar said it best, they're all brainwashed. My Dad was moderating an AA meeting with Dustin Rhodes (Golddust) some years back and remarked on how he thought it all was real, how he was so caught up in it, and I think it's sad. They're unionless, bad actors that are well built doing fight scenes for live audiences.
It saddens me. I'm sorry my wrestling fan brothers, but that's what it has come down to for me. I watched one UFC match today and saw a guy who really beat the shit out of another guy and really won a belt then I watched just a little bit of the PPV tonight and I can say the only people who should be proud of a Goddamn thing are Jeff Hardy and Adam Copeland. They did a great job tonight and I've met them both and they are awesome dudes. I'm glad they're living out their dreams and I'm proud of them for that but I just can't stomach some of the shit that I've been seeing as of late in WWE.
Did you think wrestling was real up until tonight? It's been scripted since, well, day one. If you liked it them, I don't see how this new revelation changes everything.
Yes, they are bad actors, but so is Keanu Reeves. Yes, they are stuntmen doing a show for live audiences. I don't see what's so different form when you were a kid.
If you don't like it, then don't watch it. Leave the forums and go watch some UFC. I saw the Faber fight, and as much fun as it was to watch two guys roll around on the mat, I prefer some scripted action. MMA fights are either over too quickly or drag on with no action.
So whatever, later man, go be a grown up.
I'm no batista fan, but I would much prefer him as champion then Orton. Orton is good when he is chasing the belt but when he has it he does nothing as champion. Nothing.I was thinking the same thing, they must want people to stop watching Raw
yes, the writers of Raw are going to force you to watch another show. They are going to make me just watch Smackdown and TNA.
Or maybe TNA has just become more interesting. ever thought of that?TNA has been a lot more interesting since WWE has started doing dumb stuff since Wrestlemaina.
Oh please don't.I may just skip Raw tomorrow,
What is wrong with Raw?it is starting to get annoying,
Batista being champion is going to be interesting now. I can't stand him. I'm going to be watching his matches. Why? because i want him to lose. and it will happen when you least expect it.now Batista.
I would rather a short batista match, then a long Batista match. Did you honestly think batista would win?WHY!!? His matches are so bad and short. Boring!
So your going to watch raw now? Batista is injured so no doubt he will lose. Just sit back, and watch.Know what, I will watch tomorrow, maybe they pull a Kane and make Batista lose it in 24 hours.

It makes absolutely no sense to me that people actually believe that by putting the title on a wrestler, whether it be Orton, Batista, HHH, Cena, or anyone else, that there must always be some alterior motive than some sort of attempt to entertain. The worst part about Batista winning the title is that he is injured yet again and will miss yet another few months of ring time it seems. Having only returned the night after wrestlemania, which was a show he desperately wanted to be a part of, only to return and have it all happen again. I'm not a big fan of the guy, but certainly he can be entertaining, and i know he's a babyface but i still like having a guy to root against. hopefully his injury is not going to really keep him away, so we don't have another cheap one day title reign. what i don't get is: If you know Batista is injured and you know he's going to have to take some time off, but still want to take the title off orton, why have Punk cash in against Hardy, when he could do it against Batista and effectively solve that whole problem. at least then you could build up a feud for the title in the next month where the champion actually wrestles as opposed to a 24 hour swap between batista and orton.
You answered your own question. You're looking to generate heat, argue and start crap, in short, you're trolling. I'm not a big fan of Batista, but I sure as hell NOT going to post something negative about him on a thread that's in his favor, why would I ? People are entitled to like him as they are to dislike him, something you seem to not get. Your arguments would not change a thing, some people do not like what you like, face it, it's a part of life, and sometimes, people have to vent out their dislike, thus, threads like this one.
So, I'm not welcome to offer a dissenting opinion?
First of all, you don't set the rules. Secondly, if you did, they would obviously be stupid rules.
This is an internet forum. It exists for people to give opinions and discuss. If you want to read unchallenged opinions go read a blog.
And thanks for telling me that some people don't like what I like. See, I didn't know that. That means we have something in common, because not everyone hates Batista because you tell them to.
And stop giving orders like you matter in life. I will post wherever the fuck I please, and unlike your posts, people will read mine.
That's your opinion, and I respect that. However, you are out of your f***ing mind.I would have Batista as a champion rather than Hardy.
You are probably right. Hardy has a mind of his own, which angers Vince. Seriously, Hardy does seem like the kinda guy who does his own thing more so than WWE would normally allow, but his standing with the fans gives him room to do that kinda stuff. I just hope it doesn't affect his standing backstage.I don't think that Vince trusts Hardy because of his suspensions and him possibly leaving the company.
It pretty easy to sell injuries when they're real.I don't see what the hate of Batista is about. You say that he is bland and all that stuff. He's fine the way he is in my opinion. He's not that bad on the mic and he does what he is supposed to do in the ring: throw guys around and he sells fairly well.
And for this I rejoice. It sucks that he is injured though because I could have seen a Batista/Cena title match down the road.

Dude, we ain't gonna hate you for your opinion. We hate for different reasons, like race or eye color.
Here's how I would handle this: Make it Evolution all over again. Orton decides to get revenge on Batista by envoking a rematch clause on Raw tomorrow night, but he makes it a Fatal 4-Way so that Rhodes and DiBiase can help him, like they did against HHH in the Royal Rumble. Do a segment where Orton talks about how everyone's got each other's back as they walk down to the ring, giving no indication as to what is about to happen (I just jumped 100 minutes or so ahead, of course you have matches and stuff beforehand). Match begins, and stuff happens, and as Randy is about to hit the RKO on Batista, but Flair rushes the ring and goes wild on Orton. However in the ring we see Dibiase covering Batista and 1, 2, 3! Dibiase is your champion! Orton watches in disbelief, sets up a beautiful feud with the only other member of Legacy with talent.
