Air Bourne into RKO

It was a cool move but i wasn't really wowed by it. My main problem is that it looked like if Orton hadnt gotten up the SSP would have missed him by a few feet. Also I was kinda expecting it, first cause the set up was too weak, i couldn't believe Orton would stay down from one kick, and second cause he did almost an identical move to Carlito at Unforgiven '06.

The little 2 second part of last nights RAW was easily the best few seconds of the episode.

I didnt think Bourne was going to hit Air Bourne and I was partly correct. I thought Orton was going to lift the knees or roll out. But when he hit the RKO, I actually screamed "OH!". The RKO part was a little sketchy, but overall the two of them performed it very well.

However, theres so much more. First off, you had Jericho come and give a codebreaker to Edge, then I believe he got RKO'ed. Then we saw Bourne come in and go right after Orton. This entire sequence has got me very excited for the RAW MITB match. I really think these men are going to put on a great match. Maybe they should've saved the spot for the PPV though.

EXACTLY MY POINT. I WISH IT COULD BE DONE ALL OVER AGAIN, BECAUSE THAT COULD HAVE BEEN THE BEST SPOT OF ALL TIME FOR A RAW.

TOO BAD IT WASN'T...GO TNA...LOL

That was the best moment of Raw by far, Just awsome..

You have to give Evan Bourne a tone of credit too, for a move of that quality to come off so damn well.

Basically, everyones comparing this :

I must say, that RKO was awesome to watch, and so was the Sweet chin music.
But watching them over again, the RKO looked so much harder to nail down, i thought it was awesome.
The camera angle was the only bad part about it, im watching it, and thinking, "Airbourne..OH..what just happened?"
But then i see about 4 replays and it was pretty cool.

This moment was truley amazing. It was one of the most well thought out, unpredictible moves that the WWE had seen in a while. As far as an Evan Bourne vs Randy Orton fued goes....... I could certainley see it as a possibility. I think that Bourne needs to be pushed a little bit more first though. Maybe he could have a fued with John Morrison or Ted DiBiase. Then he could move up to a person like Drew McIntyre, evenually being pushed to a main event fued with Orton. Bourne has the potential, he just needsto show it.

But anyways, that move was great and really just breath-taking.:worship:

Not really impressive to me I've seen the exact same counter for the SSP literally years before that :suspic:

well that was the coolest this year but you cant tell me that when jeff hardy swanton bombed off the tower onto orton wasnt pretty legit itself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoqBAooydUI

Granted. Remember all....I'm not saying this is the best move we've ever seen. I just think it was the best we've seen on a non pay per view in quite some time. I do like others listing their own personal "OMFG" moments though, it has jogged my memory some.

Yea that was good and all, but buddy giving the cutter wasn't the one about to get SSP'ed. He was already up by the time other buddy was getting ready for the SSP. Orton was down until Bourne leapt and had to scramble to his feet and into position making it more impressive imo.

Yeah, but nope. I saw that set up miles away. Typical CZW spot monkeys. Orton hit it off his back. It was way more surprising than basically any of those flipping, diving, driving spot fest matches in CZW.

I'm really glad they replayed it because i missed it the first time and ii was epic, i felt like starting my own holy shit chant.

I especially liked how bourne was selling the injury from it afterwards backstage.

That was one of the most awesome moves I have seen in a long time. It looked really good, and it was timed perfectly. Randy Orton snaps the RKO off very unpredictably so it looked pretty credible.

Best moment of RAW, by far. I usually fast-forward through 80% of the program (which is why I never watch it live) because I can't stand the skits that seem like they're designed for four-year olds (The Brady Bunch, really? really? [Thanks Miz]), but that was a total throw-back to the days of old when unpredictability ruled the ring. I haven't been that surprised to see a finisher used on the drop of a dime since Austin stunned the entire McMahon family.

I do the same thing. very often that I skip through 90% of the program. I just skip to see some of the finishes for the matchup. However, I happened to skip this part. I rewinded it. It was awesome. I really loved it. I was pretty suprised when SCSA hosted raw. I didnt check or hear who was the host. When I heard his entrance I flipped. I thought he was back. :( Oh well

Thought the spot was awesome, although obviously it would have been better if Randy was in more of a standing position. However I believe we will see something huge from Bourne at money in the bank, a real OMG moment.

In my opinion (even though it was not executed perfectly) it was the coolest move on Raw since Kofi "Boom Dropped" Orton through a table at MSG last year...

I have to agree. You can pick this apart as much as you like it's not gonna change the fact that it was still an amazing counter and one that will remain with us for a long time. Look for this to be on the Raw Intro next week.

It says alot about Bourne as a performer though. We all know that Randy was well capable of the move but he had to put alot of faith in Bourne to be in exactly the right place for that to work. All-in-all if anyone didn't believe Bourne was ready for a push. I think he might have proved you wrong.

Yeah, it was just fucking crazy. I marked out for it and I would again if I was to see it.

To me, both of these guys really pulled off the move to perfection and both should be commended on a job well done. I thought for sure that Bourne was crazy for leaving Orton half way across the ring but when he launched into the Shooting Star Press, only to be caught by the RKO, I jumped out of my seat and wholly appreciated what both men had done. It would not have been hard to have missed the move and Randy Orton should collect most of the credit. The accuracy that it took to get up and get his arm around Bourne’s neck, whilst Bourne was still rotating is pretty incredible and although they took a massive risk, they really pulled it out of the bag and it paid off.

All in all, this move gets me right into the spirit of the unpredictability of the Money in the Bank match and gets me excited for the prospects that all of the guys in the match could give us. The main reason that people love Money in the Bank is because of the unpredictability of it all and the high-octane offence. That move last night was the epitome of that and really gives us a look at some of the things that are to come on Sunday night. It was a tremendous move and very worthy of being called the best moment on Raw last night.

Bring on Money in the Bank, I say.

A nice gif of it if anybody was interested.

I've never known a thread about a single spot to get this much attention before. It was quite impressive - I'll give you that much. And, as the closet Randy Orton mark that I am, I may have just marked out the teeniest tiniest bit.

Alright, I admit it. I was so excited I tore my television apart like paper. Happy now? Nah, not really. I just like hyperbole.

The most similar spot I can think of was Mysterio's springboard into RKO, but that wasn't nearly as impressive.

As a side note, CZW is gash.

I am a huge Orton mark and I would put this in his top 3 RKOs of all time. I wish the camera angle would have been better, but Orton pulled it off as well as Bourne. The overwhelming response is that Orton didnt get high enough. Under the circumstances I think it was perfect. When Bournes goes for AB he has to rotate. If orton would have gotten to his feet he would have caught Bourne while he was still vertical and could have broken his neck. Or he could have stood up and had to crouch to catch bourne at the right time. I dont really think too many people think about that aspect of it. Still the best spot in years!!!:worship:

This was probably the coolest thing I've seen on RAW since when Jeff Hardy used the Swanton Bomb onto Orton. But, I actually like this moment even better. The reason why is because it was a microcosm of both Orton and Bourne's personas on RAW. Evan Bourne is a high flying, breath taking wrestler who is surprising a lot of people. However, he's not quite there yet. Randy Orton is an unstoppable force who seems to pull of the impossible everytime he steps into the ring. Another reason is because it was arguably a combo of the 2 best finishers in the WWE today.

It could have been amazing...but we could barely see it. The cameras were out of place. I think you guys are amazed that he did it more so than actually seeing it. Be honest, when they said RKO is when you got excited, then you actually prayed for a replay. WWE messed this one up.

I think it was still amazing but the camera angle changing right in the middle of it was a big mistake. The first thing that came to mind was that maybe Vince didn't have the confidence in Bourne and Orton to actually pull it off (which they did) and didn't want to end up on botchamania.

Yes the cameras were messed up, but i saw it fine. I didn't have to wait for them to say RKO. I knew what it was, when it happened. I think they could've had the cameras angle at it better, but it was truely amazing.

I'm 90% sure the camera was shot that way just in case it was botched. I mean why else would that switch from camera to camera? They only really do that if they want to cover up and make the impact look even bigger.

The fact Orton and Bourne hit that so perfectly...is a true testament to the skill it takes to be a wrestler. That was absolutely fucking tremendous. I was out of my seat and in awe.

Great spot and it set the PPV up so perfectly.

I am with you all..That move had to be practiced several times..I mean Air Borne takes special timing, let along to "jump" into a RKO..And i do see Bourne and Orton in a fued, Kind of..Everyone knows Bourne is a face, and obviousley Orton is gettin a huge face push right now..So the fued may not happen.."IF" Orton Looses MITB i see a fued for sure...

Doesnt really need a forum post but ill say something. Yes it was impressive, i rewinded to it at least 3-4 times. It was impressive. Its just like i was talking about in another post. They have mastered ways to take as little pain as possible from their performance. So these amazing events can take place, we hardly see them anymore, but yes it was amazing. Hopefully the OMG moment for a slammy. Evans part was good, Ortons lacked a little reaction time.

And what "lame_excuse" was talking about. I think that Orton should take a step in another direction perhaps the US title. Its a perfect way to keep Orton in the light and still call him a champion. That would be the only true interesting way to hold a good feud with Orton.
