The tournament is generally used to elevate someone to main event status and has had great success in doing it. Look at the list ... Hart, Austin, HHH, Edge, Angle, Lesnar, etc. Sheamus is the one guy in the whole tournament who did not need it, that's my beef.

Hart was already a WWE Champ when he won and it only made him bigger.

or he could stay away from Sheamus, the guy whom put him out of action, and jump right into the WWE title scene, thus giving the title picture yet ANOTHER new face (Trippy hasn't been in the title scene in forever). Plus, they can revisit the taking him out of commission whenever, or use that as reason for Sheamus getting a shot at Trips if he won the belt. And if they don't, Sheamus uses it to get over even more, saying that Trips is afraid of him.

But booking wise it doesn't make sense he isn't going to come back and just say "I want a title shot" he should go after the person who caused the (Kayfabe) injury. Think about when HBK came back in 2007 he got his title shot and also started a revenge angle with Orton as well.

And as I said, he got his rub by beating Sheamus last week at the Survivor Series. He didn't need another one. THen people would bitch about Sheamus being buried, losing twice to an upstart that failed at getting over for years.

I would have liked the 2nd option but it seems WWE will build it up with Sheamus calling himself "The Real King Of Kings" and then Trips will come back soon after. Thats how i see it going down.

I see what you're saying but they don't always have to use it to elevate a Mid-carder. they didn't wanna give it to somebody who "needed" it. Give it to the guy who will draw the most heat for sitting in a throne wearing a crown, makes all the sense in the world

Are you people listening to me at all? There are a few in a long list of winner who are exceptions to the success. Odds are it would work.
And it DID NOT have to be Morrison win it. I'd have been fine with Del Rio, Bryan, or anyone else. Just not Sheamus.

But you seem that you are only upset because Morrison didn't win. Sheamus didn't need the win but he is considered the favourite for the tournament as he was the only former champion so there is nothing wrong with him winning at all.
