A Very Regal Three Hour RAW: King Of The Ring LD - 11/29/10

No idea where this notion that McIntyre doesn't know how to use his skill is coming from. Put the guy against Christian or Morrison and he looks like a million bucks. Heck, he managed to make Finlay and Matt Hardy briefly interesting towards the end of their respective runs. And his matches against Kofi weren't all that bad. It's not his fault he's stuck working with human garbage like MVP.

I think people just want some concise new way to explain why booking has dropped the ball.

If anyone other than Morrison or Alberto wins I will be shocked.

Exactly.

A lot of people are saying Zeke, but his run so far as a face is quite mediocre IMO. They have him doing this thing where right before he does his finishing move, and while he's pinning the guy he gets a big dumb grin on his face. WTF is that?

McIntyre got his extended intro back. I put him at as my third pick of winning this tournament. Alberto/Morrison tied up at #1 (Either one will do). Rhodes is a step behind McIntyre now that McIntyre got his extended intro back. DBD has the US title and doesn't need the win. Sheamus was WWE champion 3 months ago, he defiantly doesn't need it. I'd be shocked if Kofi makes it past the first round. Zeke has no chance of winning the thing (hopefully).

I'm hoping for a Sheamus win and not just because he's my favorite in the thing.

Picture this: Sheamus wins and is crowned the new King of the Ring. He's celbrating his newfound kingship when 'King of Kings hits the PA. Tell me you wouldn't MTFO.

"Doesn't need to win" is a silly reason not to give worthy choices things they've earned. It's the same logic I've seen used with title belts for years. According to most, proper stars don't need to win anything because that somehow takes away from the establishment of new names.

You people don't have a clue.

WWE has announced the matches here they are

First Round:

John Morrison vs. Cody Rhodes
Daniel Bryan vs. Alberto Del Rio
Ezekiel Jackson vs. Drew McIntyre
Sheamus vs. Kofi Kingston

Second Round:

Morrison-Rhodes winner vs. Bryan-Del Rio winner
Jackson-McIntyre winner vs. Sheamus-Kofi winner

Bryan vs Del Rio YES

I called Bryan vs. Del Rio and Jackson vs. McIntyre. So I'm satisfied that I got half the first round correct. Also, McIntyre is losing in the first round just like I said he would. Suck it, IC.

Put a skilled wrestler in the ring with another skilled wrestler and yes, he'll look like a million bucks. However despite looking like a million bucks nobody gave a rat's ass about him. After he feuded with the invariably over Matt Hardy, Teddy Long and was given an on air endorsement from VKM. Given that he should have made a lot more of himself than he has.

He's like Paul Burchill. Incredably skilled guy. Never got anybody to care about him though.

True. But it is his fault that he never got anybody to care about his work, despite having more than the ability to do so.

Creative didn't drop any balls. He just didn't get over when they pushed him, so they stopped pushing him.

Oh. My. Fuck. MyIntyre's the fuck being fed to Zeke. Whelp, there's your winner..

Unless Sheamus & Zeke end in a Double DQ/Countout in which the Del Rio-Bryan/Rhodes-Morrison semi-finals match suddenly becomes the Finals. That just doesn't seem right at all.

If McIntyre makes it beyond Zeke (never happening, but I'll hope, wish, dream and pray) then I'm more than confident he's got a clear path to the finals.

Bryan v. Del Rio is gonna be the best thing to happen to Del Rio.

Bryan is safe, Morrison should be okay. Jackson/McIntyre is an interesting match, but I'll go with the Scotsman.

Sheamus/Kofi could go either way really. Kofi could really use the win, but Sheamus seemingly lost his mini-feud with Morrison and they might want to establish his dominance again.

Jackson & Sheamus is the dream showdown, in a similar way that Shamrock & Severn were a Finals wet-dream. With that said, I just can't see them giving it away on "free tv".

Makes me have a small extra hope that McIntyre will find a cheap way to win.

That's what the official brackets look like, with qualifying matches also.

Give me a fucking break. The crowd ate his shit up during the feud with Hardy and Long and he easily could have rode that momentum had creative given him a chance to do it. But when he's dropped down the card and given garbage to work with, he can't be blamed for becoming garbage. For months he's been marginalized as one half of Generic Thrown Together Cocky Heel Team #8456 and it's somehow his fault that he couldn't make that work? Give me a break. Nobody can make that and occasional matches with MVP count and you know it.

I see McIntyre beating Jackson, and then losing the Sheamus. Just because WWE know that McIntyre and Sheamus will produce a good match together (they've got, what 5 years of experience working together) whereas Jackson and Sheamus wouldn't produce such a good match (less chemistry and McIntyre > Jackson)

As the saying goes, anything can happen, but I'm almost banking on the understanding that the winner of the Daniel Bryan v. Alberto Del Rio match - will go all the way to the Finals.

Zeke and Sheamus are the odds on favorite to face off, but if this works with a Raw/Smackdown semi-finals, in hopes of a Raw/Smackdown Finals.. then either McIntyre, or Kingston would have to win their match. Once again, Sheamus & Morrison are very likely to screw the other out of their matches..

Big Zeke v. Alberto Del Rio is the worst Finals showdown since Mabel and Savio Vega. FACT!

My goodness, I love your crazy optimism.

I also like the idea of Sheamus v. McIntyre (due to their past) with the idea that Morrison/Sheamus' feud will help McIntyre buy his way to the Finals.. against Daniel Bryan.

Still.. the bigger question is why on earth would the have the guy (Zeke) they're pushing to the moon, lose to a guy who hasn't been relevant since early Summer?

Best justification I've seen is that Jackson vs. Sheamus is some sort of dream match, which is laughable.
