Office Space is a very funny movie that I thoroughly enjoy. That being said, it does not hold a candle to Saving Private Ryan.

Office Space is good as is. A cult film of sorts, it's very funny and I always liked how the Geto Boy's music was used in it.

But Saving Private Ryan is an incredible movie. It's very intelligent and the first war scene is epic. I have seen Office Space more, but Saving Private Ryan is easily the better movie.

"Office Space" is great, but I have to give the nod to yet another Spielberg classic.

"Saving Private Ryan" is my favorite war movie of all time, and that's saying something. The first fifteen minutes or so of this masterpiece is probably fifteen of the greatest minutes ever put to film. And the rest of the film is great too, but it's that shocking opener that really fucking takes you aback.

"Office Space" is hilarious though, like nearly everything Mike Judge is associated with. However, it's just a fun little comedy. "Saving Private Ryan" is a true, EPIC war picture.

As said, Office Space is a great cult flick. That's the thing, it's a cult flick full of a bunch of catch phrases taht a bunch of guys stuck in a cubible recite like the Bible all day. Saving Private Ryan is Epic. It's number 2 ranking in the decade of the 90's is debatable, because it could very well be the best movie of the decade. Saving Private Ryan is truly a movie taht all need to see. The detail that went into the opening sequence is something that is remarkable and will always stand the test of movie time.

God, Office Space is pretty horrible. The lines that are quotable are not even funny. I dont see why it is a cult film, but I guess most horrible movies are cult classics. Saving Private Ryan is arguably the best film of the nineties with a fantastic story, phenomenal acting, and great directing. There should be no chance in hell that Office Space goes over here. If it does, I will riot.

Office Space has its moments, but it is child's play here. Saving Private Ryan may be the most realistic movie ever filmed. My Uncle fought in WWII, not at Normandy, but he did serve and saw action. He literally cannot watch the opening of this film in that its too hard on him. He is in his 80s and says this is like looking into his own memory. Its not often that a reenactment can do that to anything. That being said, Office Space is ok, but it will be blown away faster than it can say destruction here.

I struggled with this one, I have to admit. Both have their purpose for being in this tournament. Office Space dominates if this was a contest of social slings, and I tip my imaginary hat to it because I own the film but I don't own Saving Private Ryan. I'd much rather put Office Space on in the background than Saving Private Ryan.

But Saving Private Ryan brought a sense of realism to war films like no other. Too often, the limitations of technology made people suffer through grainy battles consisting of overhead crane shots and comical close-ups on an obvious sound stage. With this film, though, particularly the opening sequence, you are literally thrown directly into the battleground. This is perhaps the first time in any war film that gives the audience the sense that they are SURROUNDED by war, as opposed to just watching it on their screen. Office Space did not revolutionize anything in comparison to this.

If you're voting based on character study, Office Space is a better film. If you're voting based on plot structure and film making, Saving Private Ryan takes it. As hard as it is for a writer to deny a vote to someone who introduces very interesting characters in such a mundane environment as an office building, I have to give the nod to Saving Private Ryan.

Saving Private Ryan.

Im going with the majority here. Saving Private Ryan is fucking impressive. It is great for being a war/adventure movie. The final battle scene was so good. It may have been the reason behind the Band of Brothers DVDs which were also superb. Omaha Beach battle scene they say is spot on to what happened. The best is playing BattleField with this level, because it feels like you are in the movie. Good cast, good directing, and a great movie.

From looking at the polls, a 10 to 0 lead over Office Space pretty much secures a Saving Private Ryan victory, and rightfully so as that movie is definitely the definitive war movie (right up there with Black Hawk Down, Full Metal Jacket, and The Hunt For Red October in my book)

With that being said, Office space was a good movie that I thoroughly enjoyed. I think it deserves at least one vote here in this match up.

I was surpried that Office Space was included. It's good. But it's very subtle, not as laugh out loud as some of the comedies that most people appear to like. It's more likely to make you smirk than to make you roll on the floor laughing. I imagine something like Superhero Movie could give it a run for it's money with the age of some of the posters on this board.
