I didn't watch the show until the Main Event, but read the reviews and here's my take on the show:
Huge, gigantic, enormous waste of air time with the Bellas/Divas segment. This is where you can really see how Vince is losing touch and probably in this case because he's a sucker for his family and since Steph is involved he thinks that means everybody is going to care a lot about it. Fact is, it's just not that interesting. Has Vince forgot? Even if you have a great promo the match that it is leading up to has to be good for people to care. The Bellas are NOT marquee wrestlers. They are maybe half decent. Yes, it looks like actually good wrestlers like AJ and Paige will be involved but, also, it's the Divas. They don't sell PPVs and thus they don't need 6 segments on Raw. 2 max and that would have done just fine.
Other than that huge waste of time, the rest of the show was OK. The Miz, even I have to admit, is nailing his heel persona and it's funny to watch, especially with his stunt double Mizdow involved. At this point in his career, it's pretty safe to say Miz isn't going near the main events anymore but this is great mid-card stuff that he can probably run with for a while. It's made even more hilarious because he is a terrible actor so him thinking he is this hot stuff A list actor in amazing movies makes for a good laugh and I think it's why his gimmick works.
I would love to see MORE Superstars built up to be threats for the IC and US titles instead of just one at a time. I hate how WWE does that. They limit themselves because they make so few Superstars look good and then what if one they are banking on gets injured? They have to build someone else because they are pretty short sighted. For example, why couldn't Rusev have come in an Superkicked Sheamus after his match? I know Cesaro is going to face him for the US Title but this would make a deeper story because questions would arise why Rusev did that and what this means for Cesaro facing Sheamus. I'm okay with Rusev vs Henry but why couldn't that feud be incorporated into the US title feud? That would have been better than a pointless Rusev 1 minute squash match.
So, as for the rest of the show; Good to see Harper & Rowan looking decently strong against two giants. Hopefully Harper & Rowan get a bit win over them so they look really strong again.
Usos vs Dust Brothers is cool. Dust Brothers play well as heels, they are good wrestlers and are likable just enough that it actually makes people MORE want to see Usos vs Dust Brothers for Tag Titles because there are fans on both sides.
Jack Swagger vs Bo Dallas feud is okay. It will help both characters build more of a reputation and it's something for them to do. I don't really care about it because it's an "you let Americans down", but I'm Canadian so what does it matter to me? But WWE probably knows this feud is really for the Americans and that's okay because it's in the mid-card anyway.
Rose vs Titus (w Slater) is filler. Problem was the show already had too many short matches so another filler match wasn't needed. This, like Swagger vs Dallas could be a decent mid-card feud and it's one of those feuds/matches that is more for comedy. Which, like it or not, has been part of WWE since the 90s. It did it's part.
So, the Main Event. 6-man tag. Typical, predictable ending. Problem here is what else could WWE have done, really? They have to build Cena as a credible threat to win back the WWE title and they can't do that if he loses. They are building Reigns and Jericho to look credible also. Jericho pretty much has to lose to Wyatt in the cage and that's next week so Jericho needs to be part of a winning side. Reigns didn't 'need' the win but it helps him too. The "Authority" guys still looked good at many points throughout the match so they weren't squash or buried in any way. I can't really think how else they could have booked that match to be any different. Kane was in the match to take the pin so Orton or Rollins didn't have to. So, the match did its part. I think the only thing that could have been done better would just be maybe some more OMG moments in the match. A really cool Double Team move ... having someone thrown into Triple H and Stephanie at ring side ... or some new or never-before-seen moves pulled off by Reigns or Rollins.
Anyway, if I had to rate the show I'd say 6.5/10. Would be 7 or 7.5 if the Bellas/Divas didn't waste so much time and it gave more time to some of the mid-card matches to show off those Superstars skills.
