I liked Love Boat more, but Maude gets my vote simply because it won't get any love from anyone else. It was a funny show, and it showed me just how great Bea Arthur really is, well before Golden Girls started.

Maude was ahead of it's time. Confronting issues like abortion and other controversial topics were something that many sitcoms steered away from. Her, along with Mary Tyler Moore made women funny. She came out of the box, and made way with her own style and brash wit. It also had Rue McClanahan, too. She was Blanche in Golden Girls. This is an easy win for Maude. Love Boat was a theme song wrapped around bad acting.
