5 Seconds with The Boss

Will Work for Green Rep!
With all the constant, albeit well deserving criticism that Vince has received about his product over the years. I find it kind of hard to imagine that this would not be a pretty popular thread.

Think about it. An opportunity of a lifetime comes strutting your way with arms flailing, whether passing him on the street, bumping in to one another at the produce stand or just having that lucky chance to meet him in any way. It's a casual meeting and you can clearly see he is out of' 'character.' You have the opportunity right there in front of your face to ask Vincent Kennedy McMahon just one question and one question only. He's a busy man, you only have his attention for mere seconds so you'll have to fire off that question quickly before he dissipates into the night, never to be seen again!.. or at least until the next crappy episode of Raw. So many thoughts would rush to your head, but it is so hard to think of just one single question out of the millions of things you could ask.

Think of the possibilities: Hogan, Steroids, Montreal Screwjob, Attitude Era, Austin, Rock, Owen Hart, DX, Bischoff, WCW, ECW, WWF(E), hell even the XFL. Wished Wells, HHH & Stephanie, Fake Deaths and PG ratings, Wrestlemania, Creative. It doesn't matter, there is so much the list could easily be two miles long! There would be no (wrestling-related) question off limits and now you have the microphone.

All I ask is to keep the questions within the realm of wrestling. I don't care what or about the size of his genetic jackhammer, nor would I care what his favorite pizza is. Just ask an honest wrestling question that you would expect an honest answer from. What would you ask and why?

Think fast... here he comes!

Vince, why did you do “Invasion” the way you did?? It would be a rhetorical question and then I would walk away with a “WOOOO!!” and put the Four Horsemen hand gesture up. The way I see it, he’s not going to listen to me anyway, so I may as well make it a comment instead of a question.

I'd tell him that I work in television, ask him for a job and slip him my business card.

No chance in hell he'd hold onto it... but wtf ??!!

I would probably ask why Randy Savage isn't in the Hall of Fame and what did he supposedly do to not be in his favor because I consider Savage to be one of the all-time greats.

I wouldn't say a word, I would just hug him and perhaps even blow him. I wouldn't want to, but if he wanted me to, I'd happily oblige. I mean, sure, I haven't watched regularly in 5 years or so, but from 1986-2004 I was totally obsessed with and loved his product. There has been no other thing in life that I was a hardcore fan of for almost 20 straight years.

i would probably ask him if he would lend me some money. he'd say no and i'd say, fuck man you're worth billions how about a twenty? then he would probably kick me in the testicles.

this is easy,i would say the same thing everyone els should say "thank you vince" and then i would ask to borrow money lol

i'd immediately ask him about the PG rating and how i think it's actually hurting he company and could explain some of the heightened TNA ratings. try to get a deabte about it going

I would ask him why they went to a PG rating & I would tell him how I think the rating is hurting the actual product just so I can get a discussion going on.

What if he responds by saying that "I went to a PG rating to please advertisers and for good PR, to keep Congress off my back" (which I think is the reason, anyway)? What if he then justifies his actions by arguing that "people like you may gripe and complain, but in the long run, are still going to watch anyway. So what does it really matter, if I lose a few fans here and there, as long as my company is still profitable? If I lose fans, I'll just keep raising prices, and my base of fans will keep paying those prices."

How do you respond to something like that?

I personally think that perhaps Vince McMahon's own passion for wrestling has died, and his only real passion now is making money. And that is reflective of his current product.

I would ask him why WWE decides to fire superstars when creative has nothing left for them but he doesn't consider firing creative when they have nothing left for superstars

I'd suggest he did the gimmick show Smackdown had a few years ago "Champions choice" where champions picked who they wanted to defend there titles against, but make it and annual thing, maybe even a PPV. It was a good one week angle.

I could probably answer that. I think because "Creative has nothing for you" is simply an excuse that is given for talent they want to get rid of, anyway. So that is just a quick way to have them dismissed.

I'd shake his hand and thank him considering I watched WWE for almost 20 years every single day (Not even close to joking and besides, its hard to badmouth the guy too much because no matter what the IWC says, none of us know a 100th of what this guy knows about business and wrestling. We can pretend but we all know the truth). While he was leaving I would slip him a quick comment on what I would like changed in the WWE (probably something to do with character development or storylines) and hope that he listened to me (he wouldn't unless I came up with one incredible idea).

I would look at him and say, "Why did you kill the territories?" After Black Saturday, it went all downhill so what are you going to do to mkae it better? So are you going to flap your arms on the way to the ring and take up the first 20 minutes or put your head together with creative and make a better product?

I would ask him two simple questions: Can he try to put some more emphasis on the tag division and why did WWE get rid of the Cruiserweight Championship? More titles may make them more worthless...but the talented small men (Jamie Noble, Hurricane Helms, Kung Fu Naki, Jimmy Wang Yang) need a way to get over.

Interesting point. Lets look at DH Smith...talent had nothing for this guy for years, but he still held a job. Curt Hawkins is currently doing nothing, but is still employed. If creative can give Santino a gimmick as his cross dressing sister they can certainly find a gimmick for others.

Yeah, but let's be honest. The reason DH Smith likely kept his job is because of who his father is. Combine that with a humble attitude, and that likely helped him keep his job.

I do agree that "Creative has nothing for you" is not an acceptable excuse, whatsoever. And I find it very hard to believe that Creative can't think of things for their talent to be involved in. Hell, that is what they are paid to do.

I simply refuse to believe they are that incompetent, that they can't think of a single idea for each of the talent on the roster. So, that's why I think they probably use this line as a simple excuse just to get rid of people. I am sure other factors come into play, though, like how much they are getting paid, how well liked are they in the back, do they demonstrate a willingness to learn, etc.

If someone isn't getting paid all that much, maybe they will opt to keep them on the roster, a little while longer.
