Go play with skittles
1. you obviously don't know what you're talking about. Paper Mario is far from a kids game, it's a fucking Mario game. not taking itself seriously =/= kids game. And have we seen a Pilotwings since the SNES game, which was a masterpiece supposedly (I never played it)?
2. Mario Kart is always awesome. It is just varying degrees of awesome.
3. Lee laughed (as did I) at he X-Box announcement because all the games were childish kiddie games that people laughed at Nintendo for showing a couple years ago. I won't say the games won't be pretty good, but they seem to be copies of old stuff done by nintendo.
Kinectimals = Nintendogs
Kinect Sports = Wii Sports (and the track game for NES that had the mat you ran in place on, which I had 20 years ago)
Kinect Kart Racer (or whatever it was called) = Mario Kart, without the Mario license.
And all the 3rd party games were insanely non-childish. Metal Gear Solid, Saints Row, etc. Typical Anti-Nintendo bullshit.
Pilotwings was out for the 64 called Lylat Wars IIRC it was fantastic.
How is it taking what Nintendo did and improving it. If anything they are taking EyeToy and improving that. And charging 3 times as much for it. It really is just a new version of EyeToy, which was a PS2 gimmick. It really isn't motion control, as it is a video camera control. Sony is copying Nintendo (pretty much exactly) with Move. And Gamestop put Kinect at 149.99. If that's how much it will cost, then Microsoft is trying to get the casual gamer by making them spend over 500 dollars (system, Kinect, game, maybe Live). Not a smart business strategy, since a more proven entity is less then half the price.I'd happily go play with Skittles. However I wouldn't pay to do it. Don't get me wrong I'm not making out that all the Xbox announcements where groundbreaking. I know they are playing catch up in the whole motion sensor area but Kinect looks really good, taking what Nintendo did and improving it.
I'm also not knocking Nintendo, I have had a few Nintendo consoles in my time and most have been pleasing. I just felt from the release of the Gamecube they tailored to the kid demographic. Everygame seemed to be either another ridiculous Pokemon game or something silly like whats out for the DS now. If you look through the DS releases at the moment there is silly games like Peppa Pig and Ben 10. Why? Because its for the kids.
Oh I'm sorry for missing the 3000th Mario game made for a nintendo console. The rest is kiddie games. Pilotwings was out for the 64 called Lylat Wars IIRC it was fantastic.
I can't believe how wrong you are. Mario Kart 64 took everything the SNES game did, and did it over 9000 times better. 64 was the best Kart in the series. The Gamecube version was OK, and was somewhat outside the box. The DS game wasn't terrible either. The Wii game, from what I played, was awesome.The SNES version of Mario Kart was awesome, the 64 and DS versions were terrible and ridiculously repetative. No where near enough courses on the game. I haven't played the Wii version but would like to because I enjoy Mario Kart.
actually, you're right, I missed the first half hour of the event, and the Star Wars game. And my opinion is bias, because I hate both Halo and Gears with a passion. Fable is pretty cool, but I never got into it.Fair enough Microsoft are cashing in on a popular market. But I'm guessing you failed to see the Star Wars game using Kinect and the trailers for exclusive xbox games Gears 3,Fable 3 and Halo Reach among otherthings.
When was the last time they needed to? And as I said before, no over the top violence doesn't mean it's designed solely for children. Wii has outsold every other system by a wide margin, and still make kickass games, so they are obviously doing something right.Games that other consoles have? When was the last time Nintendo developed a decent game that wasn't Mario/Zelda or tailored for children?

No. That's Star Fox.Meh, some people are still excited about Final Fantasy games. And at least Mario tries to keep things fresh. Also, Pilotwings isn't Lylat Wars...?
Metroid. Not that you've ever played it, I'm guessing....
Yes. Game looked awesome. Swinging invisible swords in a closed space, not so much.The Leeds Guy said:Fair enough Microsoft are cashing in on a popular market. All of the 'Hero'/Rock Band-type games blow. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a peripheral guitar for a home console like $70 along with the game? Facking ridiculous I tell you.
wow. for the first time in my memory the handheld carts for a Nintendo handheld have gotten much bigger. I am shocked.
