I don't think LaMichael James is going to do much in the NFL. Some compare him to Darren Sproles but James can't catch that well and he isn't a great returner either.

Steelers having a solid draft so far. They really need help in the trenches and they're getting it.

On the 1st round shocker, I've watched Bruce Irvin play for awhile for the Old Gold and Blue. He went a bit early for my tastes, but he has the speed, knowledge, versatility, and intensity. They could have gotten him a bit further down the board, but he has the ability to be a great playmaker in a few years if coached and developed right.

Kurt Warner didn't start until he was 27. Roger Staubach had to wait 5 years after he was drafted to suit up, and was 27.

They're both Hall of Famers (Warner will be, Staubach is). Don't go Weeden short. He's every bit as good as every other QB in the draft, including Luck.

Weeden is not on Luck or RG3's level. If you think so, you're the only person that does.

Weedens only flaw is his age. Just as good a passer as the other QBs. And he beat all of them.

And Rueben Randle, WR LSU goes to the Champs to end Round 2.

I agree. Weeden is a damn good player. If he's 23 years old, he would have been top 10 picked ahead of Tannehill easy. I wouldn't be surprised if Weeden has the best rookie year of all the Qbs.

This is almost guaranteed. He's the most polished and NFL ready. And that's where his age helps him, too.

Bruce Arians (their Offensive Coordinator) runs 2-TE sets most of the time. Can't blame him for getting the top 2 TEs when they didn't have any.

You have to help a young QB with targets. Luck has two and he's used to throwing to TE's a lot. Plus, Allen can block a bit so he helps in that regard too. The Colts aren't a year away but they are giving their new QB pieces so that he can succeed.

even shane lechler (arguably the best punter in the NFL) wasn't picked by the overdrafting Raiders until the 5th round.

Mel Kiper just spent 10 minutes bitching that Russell Wilson can't play Quarterback because he's too short. Everyone else on ESPN thinks that he sounds like an idiot saying that.

I just looked on ESPN.com, and apparently the Jaguars don't pick again until 142. If they couldn't trade down, and they didn't think the punter would be there, I don't blame them for taking him now. It's too early, but they might not have had a choice. Better to take a guy 20 picks too early then not get the guy you need.

Great situation for Russell Wilson. I would not be surprised to see him compete for a starting job sooner rather then later.
