2011-12 NBA Playoffs LD

I don't understand these NBA coaches. What's the point in calling a timeout to draw up a play, when the only play you draw up is a one-on-one isolation play?

Terrible end of the game coaching by Spoelstra, and it's not the first time I've thought that.
Not a fan of the Garnet holding call.

It was a stupid play on his part, no doubt.

The time out is also used to inbound the ball on their side of the court vs driving down the entire court trying to score.

There was 21 seconds. If you only called a time out to advance the ball, then it's a stupid call, because it lets Boston set its defense. Which you saw make all the difference, as LeBron was basically guarded by three players, forcing him to give it up.

True. I was just stating another reason for why the time out is used for in which I am sure you already knew that.

Wasn't a good call for the time out. Should of took it from the other side off the court and killed of the clock to set a proper play up. Oh, well.

I take you're a Heat fan Sly? Or just not a fan of the Celtics?

Neither. I sympathize for James because he gets crapped on unfairly, but I don't really have a favorite since Reggie Miller retired.

Van Gundy even just said that he would have called it on Pietrus. So idk about no doubt at all
I like Van Gundy, but using his views on officiating to make a point is usually not wise.

Reggie Miller is my all time favorite player. Guy was amazing. He was the reason why I'd practice shooting three's all day as a kid.

I agree with what you said on James. He is the best in the NBA and the haters are just gonna hate.

YES! wtg Celtics! 2 more to go.

The Heat's problems are the same they had last year in the NBA Finals. They are simply getting outcoached.

Celtics really needed this one, and they almost lost it. They were lucky Wade missed.

LeBron fouling out was really bad on his part, and Pierce fouled out for the 97th time this postseason, which is even worse. First time LBJ's fouled out in any game as a member of the Heat, which is an interesting note.

I still don't think the Celtics are taking this series, though. Especially if Bosh comes back.

Terrible officiating for both teams. Seem like refs were going for 2 wrongs make a right in this game.

I don't think the Heat were out coached, probably just unlucky to lose this one. Celtics had like three straight offensive rebounds by Pietrus/Bass in one possession late in the game and Wade missed a good look at the buzzer.

The Heat were outcoached. Even the analysts were saying so after the game, and they rarely say such things.

In the first half yes. But I would give the 3rd quarter to the Heat. The 4th and OT was just a mess if I remember correctly.

I hope OKC wins just to see you admit you were wrong in rushing to declare the series over after 2 games. :)

Miami just doesn't do the little things to win games. They miss free throws, don't get back on defense, constantly leave their man to go for the steal, and worse of all they go on these spurts where it looks like they're not even trying. It's like a boxer taking a round off... that's what the Heat do during the middle of the 3rd Quarter and at other times, and it's inexcusable.

I still think Miami is going to win this series even after saying that, but they should be ashamed of themselves with the way they've played these last 3 games.
