2011-12 NBA Playoffs LD

Wow, this was the Celtics best chance to make this an actual series; I can hear the call for refs heads now, and the only call I think was all that bad was the Rondo face rake. Otherwise, the Celtics were pretty stupid in how they fouled.

I do find it funny though; if the teams were reversed, we would be talking about how the Heat blew the game, and not that the refs screwed the Heat.

I think this series goes five, at best now

I only watched from the fourth quarter on so I didn't really see a lot of the officiating although Boston did make a couple of dumb fouls in the fourth. Rondo definitely got hit in ot and should have been shooting free throws on that play don't know what the ref's were doing there. Also the D-wade three point play in ot could have gone either way but him being the superstar at home he's gonna get that call the majority of the time his way. As for other things about the game Rondo straight up balled that was without a doubt the best shooting game hell probably the best game he's ever had in his career, if he could knock down a jump shot consistently he could be the best point guard in the game. As far as the series goes I'm not ready to give it to Miami despite them being up 2-0, I still think Boston has a great chance of evening up the series at 2-2.

If OKC keeps playing defense like this then they will win the series. I'm just not sure they can do it on the road. I'm still sticking with my Thunder in 7 pick.

:lmao:

And what fix is that?

Apparently the assumption is that the Heat will win but I'm not so sure about that. The Celtics came very close in Game 2 so I can see them rallying to win Game 3. I want the Heat to win but it'd be a much more interesting series if Boston wins. But the problem is that Boston is indeed old. They got tired out in Game 2 and Heat took advantage. If the Heat run the Celtics tonight and make them run for it, the Heat will win.

I don't think there's any doubt the Heat will win, even if they lose both of these 2 games in Boston, which they probably won't.

Lifting this from somewhere else, but it's obvious.

Twenty-five technical fouls on opponents of the Miami Heat in the postseason vs. only seven on the Miami Heat themselves.

Dwyane Wade shoulder tackling Darren Collison without getting ejected. Dexter Pittman violently elbowing a guy in the throat and winking at his bench but still being allowed to stay in the game.

Five technicals on the Boston Celtics during Game 1, none against the Heat. Doc Rivers saying, “Come on, Ed” and getting a technical. Paul Pierce fouling out while LeBron James is whistled for just two fouls.

Lebron shooting 24 free throws in Game 2, while the entire Celtics team shot 29 and the Miami Heat shot 47. Forty-seven!

With the game tied, Rajon Rondo getting slapped in the face by Dwyane Wade, with no call. Wade karate-kicking Kevin Garnett, with a foul called on Garnett.

So your argument is that the NBA is wanting a team from south Florida who only has a lukewarm sports fanbase in the NBA Finals, instead of the 17 time World Champions in one of the biggest TV markets in the country? I'm sorry, but I'm not buying it.

As far as the difference in fouls? That's because Boston is old and full of assholes. I watched the last 10-12 minutes of that game, and Kevin Garnett two hand shoves EVERYONE all the time. If I was a referee, he wouldn't make it out of the first quarter. And Boston fouled the Heat a ton, LEGITIMATE fouls. Paul Pierce simply has not been able to guard LeBron James, and James is one of the best defenders in the league.

And Dexter Pittman? Really? Are you REALLY going there? How about the fact Tyler Hansbrough got a flagrant 2 and no suspension, but both Haslam and Pittman received suspensions?

The fact is the "conspiracy" argument is ridiculous, especially coming from Boston Celtic fans.

The Thunder really lit it up the last game, but I think Greg Popovich has a game plan. Plus, I don't see Duncan and Ginobili having back-to-back bad games. Prediction for tonight: Spurs go 3-1. C'mon Spurs!

I personally think the reason why Boston has gotten more fouls than the Heat, thus giving the Heat way more foul shots, is simple. The Celtics are a jump-shooting team. From Ray Allen, to Pierce, to Rondo, they're all known for their jumpers (especially Allen). It's harder to get fouled on jump shots, that's why they haven't gotten as many foul calls through the series. On the other hand, the Heat are a drive-to-the-basket team, as guys like LeBron and Wade epitomize that type of hard-nosed gameplay. Those kinds of plays induce fouls all the time, especially for a bigger guy like LeBron, as guys can't stop him and just manage to get in his way and he draws the foul as he goes up. The two teams have a different identity in that sense. I think Miami's style of offense naturally draws more fouls than Boston's style.

Now we need the Celtics to follow the example set by OKC. Win game four and even up the series tomorrow. And hopefully carry some momentum moving forward.

Wow, LeBron has gotten screwed hardcore in the last 2 minutes. Two fouls on him which shouldn't have been.

WOW! They actually called a travel on Garnett? It's about fucking time.

I used to like Garnett, but the more I watch him, the more I can't stand him.

I think it's funny that on the replay, Haslem hand touches the ball, but Garnett is shoving Haslem in the back.

He's such a fucking dirty player.

Anyone who thinks the NBA is cheating Boston with referee calls is out of their mind. They have gotten the benefit of every call that I've seen. Garnett shoves James in the gut, bumps his shooting elbow, and then comes down across his wrist all on the same play, and not a whistle to be heard.

James has gotten screwed by the referees in the last 5 minutes. Whining about a conspiracy from Boston fans is asinine.
