2011-12 NBA Playoffs LD

Well the lakers are done as expected. I expect them to make a lot of changes in the offseason seeing how this is the second time in back to back to years where they're eliminated in the second round. Kobe showed up no one else really did Bynum was awful with only 10 and 4 while Gasol had a bad shooting night. Wouldn't surprise me if their both gone next season. Looking forward to okc vs san antonio should be a great series although im picking Sa to take the series in 6.

As was pointed out on ESPN Radio, the Lakers made a move last offseason, but the NBA vetoed it.

I'm pretty sure Gasol is gone from the Lakers, which is a shame because I'd rather keep him and ship off Bynum. While their at it get someone in return for Artest (I'm not calling him World Peace). The Clippers got mad props for their effort even though they got swept, so I hope they stay intact.

I dont think there is an athlete I absolutly loathe more than Artest. Guy shouldn't even be permitted to play basketball.

I said a couple days ago it wouldn't be smart for the Lakers to blow up their roster, but the more I think about it, the more sense it makes. Bynum probably isn't the guy to build around long term, with his injury history, inconsistent effort, and intermittent attitude problems. Sure, he's still young, but the latter two should have been weeded out by now, especially with role models like Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, and Phil Jackson around him. With the news coming out that Howard desperately wants to be traded, it just makes sense to pull the trigger on Gasol and Bynum for Howard...maybe Anderson too. Kobe and Howard is a hell of a combination. Retain Sessions, as he's a perfectly serviceable point guard. Find a small forward on the market or in a low impact trade, because you sure haven't got one now. If they don't also net Anderson in that deal, then power forward will become a position of need, as will stocking the bench. They'll have a ton of holes to fill, but it's LA and they'll have the room for it. Getting one last title in while Kobe still can is probably the best priority. After that, traditional tanking and drafting will follow, with no doubt in my mind that LA will find and produce another superstar Hall of Fame talent in due time.

Bynum & Gasol for Howard would be beneficial for both sides.

The Magic would be getting a good deal, especially considering the fact they've dragged their feet on dealing Howard so far.

I think it'd upgrade the Lakers as well. Howard and Kobe would be a dangerous duo. If they could add one more impact player on the cheap on top of that, they'd be a top contender again.

But right now, it looks like they'll keep coming up short with their current formula. Gasol has hit his peak, Bynum is riddled with issues, no one else is capable of stepping up in a big way, and an aging Kobe can't do it by himself. It looks like they need something this offseason.

And as Sly said above, they knew that going into this year, tried to address it, and had the veto debacle ensue. I think that indicates total willingness on their part to make the deal for Howard, and I think - think, mind you - that Orlando and Howard are going to part ways this offseason. The question is going to be getting Howard to the Lakers instead of Brooklyn, Dallas, or even the Clippers.

Lakers should trade Bynum for Dwight Howard and trade Gasol and Artest for Josh Smith and Marvin Williams if they can. Let all their free agents go and sign a ray allen or a jamal crawford with some other cheap free agents.

Dallas has no trading pieces, Brooklyn the best they can offer is Brook Lopez, and The Clippers would have to trade Blake Griffin. I'd still say Orlando gets the best deal from the lakers.

Howard was reluctant to go to the Lakers before, so he probably wouldn't want to go now. Seeing now that the Magic are *****es when it comes to dealing Howard, they very well could drag their feet yet again, not take a good deal from the Lakers, and allow Howard to walk away via free agency to either Brooklyn or Dallas.

Howard to the Lakers makes sense (and has always made sense), but it hasn't happened at other likely points in the past, so I'm not convinced now it's going to happen. Unfortunately.

I believe I heard someone on espn say this morning that if Dwight Howard doesn't sign a long term extension with the magic by the draft that they will trade him over the summer. Don't know why dwight wouldn't want to play for the lakers championship organization, with a long list of dominant big men. Maybe dwight just doesn't want to play with kobe because I recall hearing dwight saying that he wouldn't mind playing with the clippers and chris paul.

Heat put a beat down on Indy looks like this series will end thursday which I called after Mia won game 4 as I felt Indy had to take a 3-1 lead to win the series. Im actually rooting for Indy after all the dirty plays by mia in this game but unfortunately I don't see it happening. That pittman play was just straight pussyish(not a real word I believe) and he will be suspended for a while hopefully haslem also gets a game.

I hope the Magic stick to their guns on this one, it'd be a first. Since their firing of their incapable GM, I'm guessing they're ready to start making some changes.

I feel bad for SVG though, he's a good coach.

Just saw a replay of the Udonis Haslem flagrant foul.

Him trying to deny it and explain it away is laughable at best. Lying on top of it just makes him look stupid.

The Heat look to be in control again of their series.

Boston will close it out soon against the 76ers.

If it's Heat/Boston, Heat will probably win.

Spurs/OKC will be a toss-up. I can see OKC winning it all tho.
