My memory was he turned heel in his return after the movie's run. He was still booked mainly as a face when hyping up the movie.

But it has been more than 10 years so the memory might be fuzzy.

I'm mainly going on the dates of the films, but I'm pretty sure I'm right. He took a break in 01 after Mania X7 to do Mummy Returns (out in 2001), then took a break in between Mania X8 and King of the Ring for Scorpion King (out in 02). His heel run as Hollywood Rock was in 2003, and those were the films he did that were out/being made then.

Either way, while Rock can be heel while promoting a film, Batista may not be able to. You know, because The Rock is The fucking Rock and Batista is Boo-tista.

Actually, scratch that, turn the son'bitch heel.
