14 Grandkids In Less Than 1 Year

Good Morning, Morning Crew I am a 41 year old women who is going through the most embarrasing thing a Mother could only go through. I have a 19 year old son who just graduated High School last year and seems like to me every since he graduated hes been making Babies, Just last year in 2010 i found out i had a grandchild, i was very excited Morning crew nothing like being a "Granny" . But , that not the end i started hearing about more grandkids in the area and i started getting worried so i sat my son down and asked him how many kids did he have at the time he told me 5 lets not forget how old he was then (18) so before i knowed it slapped him which i apoligized for, but in March of this year i had girls come by saying that their kids are my grandkids so i got all the girls together and it was a total of 17 girls i had all babies tested witchin a maximum of 3 months ONLY 14 of the babies where his witch is a crime shame, for him to be only 19 i have spent thousands of dollars for dna test ,and now im tired. I have raised my son the best i can and he does try to help these girls out , i love being a grandparent but i just dont know how to love them all the same without showing favortism please help

What are you supposed to do in this situation?? How the hell are you supposed to live like that?? Was it really worth it?? After the first child, wouldn’t you think maybe you should protect yourself?? I know a big box of condoms is a hell of a lot cheaper than 14 child support checks a month. The only way this 19 year old kid can support all 14 of his kids would be to have a reality show. Thoughts.

Why would he want to stop it? If he uses condoms, he wouldn't be making babies......and don't you see that he wants to? Even just a few years ago, a guy obtained status by bragging how he had sex with a girl. He could also get it with a rep for being able to use his fists, by having a car, by being an athlete, etc.

Today, he wants to make babies. Often, his involvement with them doesn't extend beyond "taking the kid downtown to show my boys." While there, he can gain the admiration of his friends by bragging how he "knocked up this bitch"......and he's got the proof right there.

In many cases, babies are an unintended result of having sex. In this guy's case, though, don't tell me that making five of them was an accident.

The girls are just as bad. In the past, what did girls want at age 16-18? They wanted popularity, friends, dates, a car.

What do they want today?.......... babies. Their friends are having babies, so they want them, too. They see celebrities like Jamie Lynn Spears and Bristol Palin having babies at age 17?....Okay, then, these girls are going to have them, too. That they're financially and emotionally incapable of raising children isn't even a consideration. All they know is they want the babies. What about the five girls who gave birth to this kid's issue? Did none of them believe in birth control? In abortion?.....Hell, they wanted to have the babies, don't you see?

And, as the OP says, the guy can't support these kids financially, even if he wants to. Right now, he wants to help, but how long will that last when he sees his entire paycheck going to support kids he doesn't even live with?

Right now, all these children being born to children are very young; their impact on society isn't felt yet. When they come of age, often having been raised in disadvantaged circumstances .....and usually in one-parent households, often with mothers who have long since lost interest in raising their child once she learned that it takes away from time spent with her friends (which is time she should have had, being a teenager herself). We're going to start seeing the effect of these people being assimilated into the workforce, having spent a lifetime under-loved, under-educated, under-trained, often underfed and generally unprepared to deal with the world as independent adults.

But the kid in the original post and the girls who are having his babies don't see any of this......all they see are the kids they're dying to bring into the world.

I'm sorry, I need to ask you this Sally. What the hell are you rambiling about? That whole post outside of the Jamie lynn spears and Palin part was just rambiling on.

If the dude wanted that many kids, then he either has mental problems. Or his mother is lying. The kid isn't going to have enough money to spend on 14 kids. That's just imposible unless the courts cut up his pay in small enough increments. So you are good there.

And mothers who have long lost their intrest in rasing their child? What the hell man, not every mother is a monster who beats their kid or just leaves them to the streets. I'm sure some of them will neglect their child at some point in their life. But why are you writing off 17 females that you don't know at all.

Accidents do happen, I will agree with that. But how do you see 16-17 year old girls looking to Spears and Palin and saying Hmmm, they had kids. It's ok for me to to! Spears and Palin's familys have millions of dollars. Only a dumbass would look to that and say HEY! They did it, so can I! I've heard of groups of females making pacts to get preggo and more. But really, this isn't the whole world. It's a small percent of the population doing this. This is what gets on the news and makes us slander teenage mothers and fathers. Sex is a very natural thing in a relationship. If they choose to use condoms then good! But if they choose not to, then let it be. Both of them have to suffer the consiquences.

Also what guy brags about having kids? I just had two friends go through this that were both under 18, I don't hear them saying, Oh I knocked that bitch up. They brag about how big their kids are getting, or how much they ate yesterday.

Your post screams bullshit to me. You are overlooking the hard working parents, and the good kids that have sex in a loving relationship and have accidents. You are saying 17 girls wanted to have sex with this one guy to have a kid. Are you kidding me, Sally? It says that 17 came to his mother, only 14 of the kids were his. So we can assume that 3 of the girls either wanted a baby daddy or just were mistaken.

It's hard for me to feel compassion for anyone here, to be honest.

A mother who claims to have raised her son well winds up with 14 grandkids by the time her son is 19? Sure, there are the odd cases of parents doing most everything right, and their kids still screwing up their lives anyway. But that usually involves mental illness of some kind, such as a personality disorder of some kind.

If mom had to pay for the paternity tests, how in the world will the son be able to provide for, less spend time with his children? This isn't ancient Egypt, men aren't encouraged to have hundreds of wives and give each wife only one day devoted to her overthe year. Parents are expected to be apart of their children's lives in some way or another, and at least provide for them in some way. Without a college education(or any chance of getting one), I don't see a way how he can provide a semblance of a life for any of his children. But if he is anything like his mother, he's not very bright. At least that's how she came across. Unless he's Shawn Kemp, LaTrell Spreewell, or Antonio Cromartie(all athletes who sired over 10 different kids with at least 7-8 women), dude has a long, difficult life ahead of himself.

Lastly, let's not absolve all responsibility from the females here. I know many parents are opposed to getting their daughters birth control in high school out of fear they're approving of sex. But if their child is going to have sex anyway, at least allow them to do so in a way that they're protected. Because there are things worse then having sex-- The girl who winds up pregnant. For arguments sake, let's say that the parents were responsible, and provided every need for their daughter to avoid getting pregnant. Either the girl heard legendary stories about how great dude was in bed, didnt care if they got pregnant, or wanted to. With 17 women showing up at moms door claiming to have had a child with the young man, it's safe to assume they'ld heard about previous conquests and subsequent pregnancies. And yet, they obviously didn't care. The only explanation is that they wanted to get pregnant, or at best, didn't care if they did.

In the end, it comes down to this: Women who won't have a father present to help them raise her children, and obviously took no precautions prior to sex. A man who will have to work 2-3 jobs the rest of his life to support aforementioned kids, robbing himself of the opportunity to get a college education and be a true provider and likely never have a true family. Worst off, the children, most of whom will be raised in less then advantageous circumstances, unless each woman's parents really step up. A young mother who likely has no idea how to parent and may not have developed the maternal instinct as of yet. A father who won't be able to devote much time or energy other then perhaps a check to his kids, and a grandmother who openly acknowledged it will be difficult to not show favortism.

The bottom line is this: Forget about the idiocy or issues the 19 year old man may have. Forget about the arguments to whether the women wanted to get pregnant, or were just extremely irresponsible. It's the kids who will suffer here more then anything, and likely grow up unprepared for adulthood or with serious issues themselves. Why? Their parents were irresponsible and wreckless. A truly sad state of affairs, and for them, I truly feel compassion.

I wonder what advice Steve Harvey gave her.

It's good to see people who actually try and see the whole picture instead of "DAMN YOU MAN AND YOUR SEMEN" nonsense
It takes 2 people to have (consensual) sex, both parties want it, both parties have the option of protecting themselves or not (usually, the are exceptions I'm sure but for now let's just say there aren't). The man obviously must have something wrong with him if he actually WANTED 17 kids, but after the 8th or so popped out he probably stopped caring. The females are just as bad, they obviously didn't care about getting pregnant or not so they just rolled with the punches.
At the end of the day, there are 17 supposed kids/grandkids...why? Because no one cared.

That's the sad part, as the above posters have already stated, it's the kids who are going to feel this, grow up in a harsh environment and generally have a disadvantage in life from the get go. This is exactly the sort of thing you'd think fathers and mothers would want to avoid. Yes sometimes things go unplanned but after the first few kids you'd think they would've learned SOMETHING.

The 19 year old "boy" responded today!!

Good Morning , Morning crew i am the 19 year old male who has 14 kids and my Mom wrote you guys a few weeks back and i would like to explain how this all took place, growing up i did not have a father and mom always told me and still tells me about how mean arent nothing so growing up around that i always felt like i wasnt nothing but crap to women so i treated them like they werent nothing. but heres the thing my mom is the blame for 90 % of this all the things that are important she left out. such as how she buys my condoms and puts holes in them thats how 10 of the kids where made my mom goes in my room finds my condoms and puts holes in them on purpose. Morning crew i love my kids and i know im only 19 but i think i am doing good i dont get too see 5 of my kids and thats because they live out of state but i do try and call and check on them and for the record all girls know about the other girls and there kids . i work at a plant called and i make 1,000 dollars or so a week i am not on child support simply because i do try and help the best way i can i do manage to talk and stop by the girls homes to visit when im off i mean of course i cant go to 14 girls houses but i think effort is everything , i did graduate and i am currently taking online classes for collage , morning crew showing favortism is the lst thing on my mind i needs some advice on how to not be abscent from my kids life as they get older and how to not to stray to the streets to get money to make sure they are okay please help i really dont want to stray to the streets but looks like thats my next option
