I thought for the most part, Triple H came across as candid. However; One part seemed hypocritical and like an odd statement for what is going on now (coming from a guy with a mind for the business). He said that if he had been given the KOTR nod as planned in 1996, he would have "dropped the ball", that looking back on it he was just not ready. This seems like an odd statement from one of the Head guys in the company. I say this because Triple H had more experience in 1996 than Reigns has now. Triple H clearly had a better "Business mind" at that time than Reigns seems to now. Triple H was simply going to be a KOTR winner, as opposed to WWE World Heavyweight Champion........it seems like he clearly has to be aware of the parallels of all this. Roman has time and can (and likely will) develop deeply, why damage a "blue chipper" so soon?

Austin won the KOTR and went on to get a huge rub from one of the previous era's greats: Bret Hart. This feud legitimized Austin and helped propel him forward.

Hunter wasn't ready in 1996. But a year later he went on to get a huge rub from one of the previous era's greats: Shawn Michaels. His experience working with Michaels legitimized Hunter and helped propel him forward.

Two of the best at the time, Bret and Shawn did a great job setting up the future in Austin and Hunter in 1996-1997. This is what has helped Rollins get over so organically. He's being pushed hard, but not in a way he can't handle, and is getting huge rubs from two of the previous era's greats: Randy Orton and John Cena, not to mention Hunter himself.

Reigns unfortunately got injured in the middle of his push. He had a brief feud with Orton and now another brief feud with Bryan. I think he could have been ready if he didn't miss so much time. But for all we know, there will be a WrestleMania cash-in. Or Lesnar retains. Or Reigns surprises everyone and goes on to have a nice run. Orton wasn't ready when he first defeated Benoit at SummerSlam 2004, but it didn't ruin his career.

Just because you've been around fpr awhile itself alone doesn't make you "ready". By 1996 yes HHH had been wrestling since I think 1990, maybe 1991 at the latest. That was almost as comedy act blue blood lower card talent. He had never been close to the top 2 or 3 slots on the card prior.

Compare it to HBK. When he first turned heel and started a singles career it was clear he had in ring talent and some charisma, but his character seemed forced (part of that was probably WWE overscripting) and his delivery in his promos that first year wasn't anything special, he was no where near as good as he would be a few years later (he improved steadily as time went on).

However, Micheals had been on national TV and touring around the country, wrestling top stars and performing near the top of the card since at least 1986 in the AWA, and had been in WWE (both as part of The Rockers Tag Team) since about 1989. No doubt he was experienced, he had wrestled in important matches higher on the card in front of TV and live crowds before. He wasn't ready for Prime Time so to speak as a singles competitor (not being shielded as part of a tag team gimmick) but he was way more experienced than HHH was in early 1996. WWE was smart to build him slower, moving him up the card over the course of a year plus and allowing him to become more comfortable as main guy (on his own, no tag gimmick to protect him). HHH got the same benefit with his inclusion into DX and by the end of 90s "The Game" was taking the business by storm as one of the top stars and absolute best heels the business had at the time.

I didn't like that whole "Chyna did porn" ...yeah? And plenty of WWE Women have been in Playboy, his mancrush HBK was in Playgirl, Austin beat his wife, tons of legends have done copious amounts of drugs....but filming something that happens naturally in life is EVIIIILLLL (when it doesn't make WWE money).

So, can we now assume that any and all podcasts will be cancelled/not scheduled? After this backlash that Vince Russo is stirring up, now with the accusations that HHH hit Chyna, it's safe to assume that Austin's podcast is either A> no longer welcome, or B> completely vetted by Vince and HHH and/or Stephanie prior to air time, right?

You seriously don't see the difference between posing in Playboy and starring in a porn called Backdoor To Chyna or that one where porn stars dressed as wrestlers gang banged her?
