Your favourite movie of the year?

TLC

Yeah, bitch! Magnets!
Well since we're basically half way through December, I thought I'd ask what your favourite film of 2012 is? (I know some films are yet to be released but fuck it).

My favourite goes to Argo.

The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers and Twilight.

Yes, Twilight.

THE Life Of Pi looks awesome too. If it's half as good as the book, then I'll be happy.

The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers and Twilight.

Yes, Twilight.

I haven't seen The Master, Lincoln, Silver Linings Playbook, Argo, Skyfall, Zero Dark Thirty, Flight, Django Unchained, Moonrise Kingdom, The Sessions or Looper.

So, it's Killing Them Softly.

I have a really hard time making that distinction. So...here's a bunch of them, ranked by tiers. It should also be noted that I've seen probably a dozen other 2012 films that aren't in these three tiers. Films like Brave, which were good, but not really good enough that I feel like including them, or suggesting them to anybody else. Also, although I am generally a fan of Will Farrell and Zack Galafanafuck, I could BARELY get through The Campaign.

TIER 1
Cabin in the Woods
Seeking a Friend for the End of the World
Moonrise Kingdom

TIER 2
The Avengers
Chronicle
Looper
The Hunger Games
Prometheus

TIER 3
The Dark Knight Rises
Premium Rush
ParaNorman
Jeff, Who Lives at Home
Safety Not Guaranteed

Potential TIER 1 Films I Haven't Seen Yet
Skyfall
Django Unchained
Les Miserables
The Hobbit
Clout Atlas
Lawless

Cloud Atlas, easily. I was also a big fan of Argo, Paranorman, Silver Linings Playbook, and Moonrise Kingdom.

Question: Is Django Unchained already out in the US? Between that, Wreck-It Ralph and Cloud Atlas, I'm getting fucked.

The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers and Twilight.

Yes, Twilight.

I'm more offended by the inclusion of The Dark Knight Rises.

Prometheus, because I'm a huge Ridley Scott fan, and an even bigger Alien fan.

Odd, I'm a big Ridley Scott fan and Alien fan and I felt really let down. I wasn't expecting the final part of a sci-fi holy trinity - i.e. Alien, Blade Runner... Prometheus - but it was a distant hope. Damon Lindelof fucked all that up. Sure was pretty though.

I've been to the cinema three times this year, which is a marked improvement on past years. Might even make it four times by the end of the year with a trip to the Hobbit but for now my three, in order, are...

1. Skyfall
2. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (technically a 2011 film but I saw it in late January)
3. The Amazing Spiderman

The films I remember liking the most were Skyfall, Spiderman, Lawless and 21 jump street and I expect The Hobbit is probably going to make it also. None of them really stand out.
