You Know What's Bullshit?

Welcome to My (And Not Sly's) House
People that log onto AIM or MSN or something like that and when you try to talk to them, they're too busy to talk right now.

WHY ARE YOU ONLINE THEN???

fairly simple really.

They are available to hear things that are important, or to be left a message to be seen later. Not for idle conversation.

at least they put up an away message. I don't have an idle time set, and I never put up an away message so people message me all the time and I am never there.
Or maybe they just don't want to talk to you
I know how that feels.

Just seems pointless to me. Wouldn't you be able to focus more if you weren't checking your computer every now and then?

well if someone has something pressing, you can get to them.

I ALWAYS have an away message up. becuase I dont generally want to talk a lot, but a lot of folks on my aim have no other means to get ahold of me

^ that.

Personally, if I'm on the computer, I have AIM up, and if I'm away from the computer (unless its for like, just a minute), I'll put up an away message.

The thing that bothers me more than people saying they can't talk are the people that sign on and aren't actually online. A friend of mine is very illogical at times and his SN will pop up as being online and 99% of the time, he's not actually at the computer. Either its a family member of his that doesn't realize what AIM is (or is just ignoring it anyway) and it automatically signs on, or he puts it on, walks away, and forgets that the computer and AIM was on. This is made worse by the fact that he turned off the Idle feature, so you never know if you send him a message if you're getting him, someone else, or nobody, and if anybody will actually receive the message at all.

Now that is annoying. Lol.

I usually click 'appear offline' so that there are no mixed messages. Most of the people on msn are from a while back and I'm not really interested in talking to them.

I have my MSN on at all times. that way I can catch up on all the important information... and all the pretty things Robyn has sent me. since I am on at odd times, it works to my advantage, and then if there is someone who I dont want to talk to.... mostly relatives, I act like I am not there.

I've talked to Deadman and Milk on msn, but a bunch more wzers have added me.
