Xbox Live connection

Max Headroom

The Master of Disaster
Hey guys how's it going? I seem to always end up coming here for electronic questions, as Google is friggin' useless.

Anyways, since last afternoon, my Xbox has been having terrible connection. It says on the sight "there may be problems signing in", but that's not my problem as of now.

Whenever I go online, every 5 seconds or so my gameplay gets interupted due to "connection error". If you play Black Ops, that box keeps popping up, and I lag everywhere for a second.

It's quite annoying, and is happening to only one of my other friends, everyone else seems bestkind.

So, simple question really, and I appreciate any helpful answers, but if you play Xbox Live, is this happening to you too? Like, anytime in the last day? This is pretty ironic seeing how a week ago I made a pro-Xbox reply in a thread, but damn it's some annoying. I tried resetting my modem to no luck. So, even if this is not happening to you, any helpful tips would be nice. Also, if anyone knows how to find your UPnP thing, that would be great.

Sorry for the rant, and thanks for any help.

Soudns like a simple solution but have you tried switching your modem/router off for a few minutes then back on? Usually helps me on connection problems.

Yes I have, with both the one in my room, and the main one downstairs. Sadly, no luck. It says I should check UPnP settings, or change my LAN from moderate to open, but I have absolutely no idea how to do that, or even what UPnP is.

Sorry man I don't actually have a 360 at the mo so won't be able to help.

Can someone else help him?

Sounds like you need to disconnect some stuff, or turn other electronic things off. I've had issues with my DSL connection from time to time in games like Madden and CoD - I can only play them when I directly connect my xbox to my modem and turn everything else off.

If you have a wireless connection, I don't know what to tell you. I use a wired connection because it works better and there is no "in between" that slows you down.
