WZCW Discussion Thread

What gimmick have you guys seen that you thought would be really cool, but then the person just flopped?

Plenty.

DK Wilton if he had not been so shit and a failure at taking advice.

King Shabba could have had a Prince Nana type run had he not disappeared.

The Empire could have been a good gimmick, had they not been steamrollered by BarboSHIT

There was an Australian indy wrestler who was the son of another Aussie indy wrestling 'legend' gimmick that could have been really interesting had they stuck around - cannot for the life of me remember his name. Was that Tucker Graham? Whatever the name, I think they were going to aim for the big fish in a little pond being thrown into a big bad ocean of WZCW. Could have had a decent mid-card heel run.

Conversely, gimmick you thought would be amazingly stupid but the person has kicked butt?

I would say Krypto and SHIT were not considered all that capable of going that far.

Also, has there ever been a double turn? Has anyone completely reinvented their character after a feud/storyline?

Not sure the double turn has ever happened. Barbosa vs SHIT managed to turn both of them from heels to faces.

Ricky Runn was completely reinvented almost overnight from Bad Luck Ricky to Swagtastic #1 Contender and now possessor of the world title belt.

I'm still extremely unfamiliar with people prior to my acceptance. What's a good feud or feuds (and where can I find it) to read up on?

Aside from the aforementioned Saxton vs Saboteur for the spoon, I would say that the entire Barbosa vs SHIT feud is worth reading.

Also while it may not have achieved its true potential for various reasons, there was some pretty good stuff going on in the AoC vs WZCW feud - the development of the likes of SHIT as real threats to anyone, the ambiguity of Barbosa and any time he interacted with Ty Burna from just after Barbosa lost the WZCW title at AoN 2011 until they squared off inside Hell in a Cell on Meltdown 75.

As a creative member, Kermit was a machine... arguably the best member ever and I'm not saying that because he left unexpectedly and I'm sugar-coating his legacy. No, not at all. He was a freaking machine, for realz yo.

So would this analogy help show how dedicated he truly was:

Kermit was to WZCW Creative work as I am to spam-guarding the wrestling non-spam sections? Someone once told me its almost inhuman how much I've done in WWE let alone helping the TNA guys and Oldschool.

He was probably my favorite RP'er before he left and from what I've been told would have been the best fed head of all.

Yes, it was a very refreshing heel character at a time when most of our heels were these serious characters and he seemed to be a breath of fresh air. Then he got an attitude.

Good thing Ricky Runn wound up filling that slot better than Joey Sexton ever could. Yes, I realize that I phrased that interestingly.

No, because Kermit was never so good at what he did that he started to annoy people.

Kermit was amazing to work with, just amazing. Such a good mind for things too.

I saw brilliance, thus why I brought him onto the Creative team. I think Showtime wanted to kill me and/or Kermit because Kermit was throwing a thousand ideas a second out there and I think Showtime got a bit annoyed and snapped at him.

I hope my Creative peers don't mind me telling you that I was pushing hard for a Celeste/LMD double turn at Apocalypse. Admittedly, I'm glad it didn't happen since Echelon has left.

Apart from that, I don't believe one has ever happened. It'll happen sooner or later, though.

Probably the closest thing we've had to a double turn was when Reynolds and Ty were feuding, and Reynolds was acting heelish while Ty was acting as righteous as he could be when Hayley was kidnapped, only for Ty to turn heel and brought Reynolds way the hell back up to face territory.

A true double turn? More of a swerve but it's about as close as you can get to it without actually going there.

Speaking of that Blade, I'll get in touch with you guys after New Years here in regards to where we go next from here for the tag division. JAM's been working on putting stuff together and I think a small minor addition from my side is all that's needed.

Sounds good. There should a be few new teams coming in the next cycle or two to give the division a shot in the arm.

I do that from time to time :( I find I used to get myself too worked up over nothing.

I'd just like to echo all the other sentiments mentioned by everyone, Kermit was the best. Period. Everything he did he put his full effort in; the only fault you could really find in the guy was he worked too hard, which isn't much of a fault at all.

How many people have held multiple titles at once?

Has creative ever been opposed to someone, most likely an already established member of WZCW, making a character with a gimmick akin to Ultimo Dragon in 90s WCW, where they came in with multiple titles from other (made up) e-feds?

It's never been brought up honestly. You can look at my character where it's implied he's won championships in Mexico, has taken Ricky Runn and Amber Warren to wrestling events there, but I've always left the name of the companies ambiguous. As far as bringing up other E-Fed names, that's typically not allowed in any E-fed honestly and WZCW is no different.

I don't mean actual other e-feds. But a character coming in as the like... Super Duper J-Tiara Title Champion with four belts. Fully and completely made up as an additional gimmick to the character.

Yes

Rafael De La Noche (AKA Rafael De La Nacho)
Gimmick: Spaniard indy legend defending his title in the US

He would hold the belt in his RP's but I'm not sure if we ever wrote him with the belt in the shows. Would've been interesting if he stuck around long enough and we actually made him defend the belt.

Something similar is Connor Reese. In his RP's he would actually write partial or full matches of him wrestling in another fed.
