So, off topic, finally watched the first few episodes of Game of Thrones. Yeah, it's okay, but it's no Breaking Bad. Although, it is weird cause I'm friends with the guy who plays Joffrey.

It does get better. Just like most shows, it takes some time to get pacing down, and Game of Thrones really suffers from that.

Also, tell your friend he's a dick ... On the show. But in real life, he's a really good actor

It's weird though, cause a lot of more recent shows haven't had that problem. The pacing for Breaking Bad, Homeland and House of Cards was always done really well from the start.

Yeah, he never hears that ;)

He's a cool guy though. Funnily enough, we only started talking because I didn't watch the show.

Breaking Bad is probably the best show to come out in the last thirty years, though. Haven't gotten to Homeland or HoC, but that's on my to do list.

For whatever it's worth, I also think it may have to do with how it's a book, and how slow the first chapters of the whole series. But yeah, don't get me wrong, the first few episodes rely too much on violence and swerves

You could tell him my girlfriend was tempted to make a voodoo doll, and a lock of hair would be appreciated.

It's ok, the doll is wearing a crown, so he should be ok.

I can see that; I mean, if you work on a show all of the time, do you really your free time to be reminded you work on the show?

Breaking Bad is just too good, it's ruined other shows for me. The other thing that annoys me about the first few episodes of GoT is the plot device of using the wolves every time the Stark kids get into trouble...

I shit you not, he's had marriage proposals from crazy bitches who want to be "queen" so the voodoo doll probably wouldn't shock him that much. I'll see what I can do about there hair.

And yeah, he spends 90% of his life working on or talking about the show, so the night we met I told him I hadn't watched it yet and he was like "Great, I'm buying you a drink!"

He's aware of it, after all the Oscar buzz he got for that role.

Also, I may be confusing him with Heath Ledger. Which one's the dead guy...?

He got a hug from Katie Holmes in BB

The kid that plays Joffery is old enough to drink? He looks like he's about 15!

He's two months older than me.

We sort of had a conversation along these lines the other night. I think it's really good they want with actors older than the role claimed for and just sort of left their ages murky, although apparently they're still supposed to be about the same age as they are in the books (for Joffrey, 16). It's resulted in much better acting than they would have gotten if they'd taken actors right at the ages they're meant to be and is probably the thing making the show so good, considering at least half of the main characters are under the age of eighteen.

That and all the sex would have to be cut out. I mean it's all well and good making Sansa's age ambiguous but there's no way in hell they would be able to get away with some of her scenes if the actress were too young.

So drunk...

You should probably drink more then; that usually fixes things. Oh, wait...

I'm old enough to drink, own a gun and to have premarital sex, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea...

British music fans should be watching Biffy Clyro play on the Radio 1 Big weekend festival. Tooo good.

So I can listen to all of their hit song?

I find them so hit and miss (mostly miss) that it's almost depressing. I want to love them but in the past few years there's maybe only one or two songs that are good enough to listen to over and over again

Not so much so you can listen to all their hits, because they're such an incredible live act.

I'm not a song by song kinda guy, if an album's good, I'll listen to an album, and make good, full albums is what Biffy have done consistently for ten years. If a band can only make mediocre albums with a few good songs, then I won't care. I.E. Kasabian, The Killers, Every band that the British media has a boner for, etc.
