Not idiotic, you could post the best RP ever on the first day of boards being up, but it's always nice, if you've written it early, to maybe take a day or two, make sure everything's perfect.

To be honest, it's expected. All first time RPers post theirs early, mostly because they don't have any ideas what is going or they are enthusiastic or both.
It doesn't affect the judgement because that's all down to the RP quality.
I used to post mine a day or two after the boards went up. But after a lot of matches I learned that after you think you're done with your RP, just have it sit there for a bit. You might want to add something more or take out something else that didn't really make sense.

1: It always needs to be repeated for newer guys, so here it goes again. Wait to post. Even just a day or two after you think you're done. Re-read it, see if it really fits the vision you had in your mind when you created it. Check for errors. I highly advise ready Gelgarin's feedback from past RP's to pick up some pointers on what to focus on and what NOT to focus on.
Posting early isn't bad all the time; rushing to post usually is.
2: Isn't there a feedback request thread? I know you guys aren't totally doing it here, but a big reason why I love that thread is that this one doesn't get pages and pages of "feedback plz" and "k, feedback feedback plz".
