Spoiler: That's what Daggershield will roll for an action that fails, having an impact on whatever he's doing. Hopefully it's not a critical fail. That's a thing, right? :)

Depends on the action. If you're rolling to see if your attack hits and you roll a 1, some DM's consider the rule of you just hit yourself, so yes critical misses/fails are a thing. And no, that's not it.

Okay, so it's 9am over here. Pretty sad - I'm in a bar in the middle of nowhere and they only serve coffee and the coffee machine takes half an hour to start up. All this for a game we'll probably piss away anyway...

Can't be worse than Australia. I'm sure we'll get smashed yet again tonight.

By Argentina? Come off it, man. The Argies have improved a lot and they have an uncanny knack for shining in World Cups, but they're just not in the same league. You Aussies will have to watch it in the scrum, though...

And we just pissed the game away. If you're already on a yellow, you don't go into the tackle leading with a forearm strike. We were winning the scrums, the breakdowns and the lineouts and Bissie was a key man in all three of them.

When I DM a 1 on an attack roll is a fumble. The players then get a chance to stop it going horribly wrong but then they roll to see what happens, from dropping their weapon to DM's choice

You don't want DMs choice. It could be any horrible thing short of you died.

You're less predictable than I expected. Good for you :).

He rolled a Wisdom check and passed. That or bluff

Holy shit I'm such a nerd

I was thinking the numbers were too low for a pass. Also, my only experience of DnD/Tabletop Gaming comes from Order of the stick and Darths and Droids (fuck DM of the rings).

Dagger, what you could consider next time is to hype it up, maybe even create a poll, in the wzcw.com section.

I love the hell out of Order of the Stick. No I meant he rolled a WIS or Bluff to surprise you.

My only experience is Munchkin, which if anyone has played here, is an extremely fun game.

I have seen a lot do that. They go with the 1 as a crit fail threat, if the next number is low enough they make you drop/break your weapon, hit yourself, or worse of all hit another party member. If you're a caster and a fighter crit misses while standing next to you, you may be in trouble.

Goodness no. The DMs that use that rule tend to be the ones who want to kill you. The best DMs try to let you advance the story while giving you challenges. Then you have ones who make you do it their way otherwise they threaten you with tossing in monsters like a Dracolich, Tarrasque, or my personal favorite a fully grown adult Prismatic Dragon that even a maxed out party fear, unless you follow the game their way.

I saw it as he rolled a bluff check but I rolled higher on a sense motives check.

It was too low even on the 7. Most dice roll checks are from the d20. Rarely have I ever been asked to roll a spot/wisdom/whatever check on a d6, d4, or any of the others. It happens, but 90% of the rolls are on the 20 sided dice.

I love that idea. I'll probably go that route for the PPV round if I do another one or these.

My wife loves it. We once played it at a party and there were 12 people all playing Munchkin. It lasted 4 hours! It's an insane game and can be pretty fun.

It really is, but it does offer for people that would get lost in all the elements of D&D (I whole admit I couldn't handle a full D&D game...)

I also love how it usually ends with everyone screwing each other over. My friends and I played, and when one reached level 9, he drew a level 20 Plutonium Dragon. We all screwed him over, he got roasted and eaten, and had to start all over.

He did not win that game

I played Munchkin once, I think it was the superhero version of a superhero expansion pack o something like that. It was a lot of fun, but I think you need at least one person who is super into it that knows what they were doing.

Apparently the guy I was playing with (it was at a summer camp) was like, a Munchkin World Champion or close to it. He told us a story about how he was at a tournament and he drew a cheat card where he had to say some phrase over and over again without cracking a smile, and if he did he could just keep on drawing cards, and how that lead to him winning the game,

That's a great way to look at it. In some ways it's a watered down d&d, but in some ways it's even crazier. Alliances are inevitable.

I often keep a high level monster or two in my hand if I draw them up until someone is about to win. When we played the 12 person game one guy was cheating, we found out he had too many cards in his hand and he had his cards out of view. We found out and ganged up on him when he was about to win and then kept killing him lol. Needless to say he was still level 1 or 2 by the time someone finally did win.

The motherfucking duck of doom!

I'm using my Redemption character development this round because I dont think Im on the man card for the PPV, if my suggestion gets acknowledged/put through.

The road is long, but it's the road you're on! Where it leads I don't care, because I can go anywhere with Rainbow Deodorant Maxi-Pads!

I have a funny D&D story. I've only played a handful of times so forgive me if I use a term incorrectly, but the 2nd or 3rd time I played I was with some guys who play fairly often, there were four of us plus the DM. In game we entered this room that is pitch black, save a hole in the ceiling shining light down onto a bowl in the center of the room, which the DM described as a bowl filled with a black viscous liquid. One of the guys just yells out, "I drink it."

Turns out it was oil we were supposed to use to light a lantern to read an inscription on the wall. I forget what he had to do but after his roll his character ends up crazy sick with extremely decreased stats, so eventually we left him behind in some random room while the rest of us went in search of an alternate light source.
